Here's a sample of a Christmas speech prepared by following a simple step by step speech outline. You'll find the format is ideal for an office Christmas party, a family get together, a club Christmas event...

Yes, it truly is one of those occasions when one size, (one format), will genuinely fit all.

A note of explanation before you read the speech

What you're seeing here is an example of a speech mostly in note form rather than a full word-by-word, sentence-by-sentence text, or manuscript.

It's like that for two reasons.

1.Flexibility and freedom

The first reason is that our speaker wants the freedom and flexibility given by using cue or note cards.

Cue cards are easily held in one hand. They allow a person to interact more spontaneously with their audience. They can make eye contact, smile, gesture, or move quite freely. And when they need to, they can glance at their cards to remind themselves of what they planned to say next.

In contrast, reading from a complete 'word-for-word' script makes spontaneous interaction with the people listening much trickier to manage.

A set of A4 pages is harder to deal with than a set of cue cards. They're too big to hold in your hands to read them comfortably, therefore you need a podium to put them on. That means the speaker is anchored to one spot; behind it.

The result is a more formal presentation which doesn't fit with either the occasion or this speaker's overall purpose: to reach out, to inspire and unite the audience with their theme of gratitude.

You'll note that the concluding segment is the full text. It's that way because they sweated over getting the right words down and don't want to risk muddling them due to the excitement and pressure of the moment!

When they practice the speech and finally deliver it they will flesh out the 'opening' and 'body of speech' notes into full sentences.

2. Note cards help them remember

The second reason is that the speaker wants to remind themselves of the names they need to mention in their opening welcome segment, the important points they wish to cover in the body of their speech and, the sequence that they come in. Without notes they may forget what they wanted to say.

(This method of speech delivery: a mix of carefully scripted text and impromptu speaking using note cards is called extemporaneous .)

Merry Christmas to everyone celebrating and a very warm welcome to our respected Principal, Teachers, and my dear friends. I am honoured to be presenting the Speech Of Merry Christmas. Christmas is my favourite festival and I look forward to this all year long. It is celebrated during winters on 25th December every year.

This day is very special because it marks the beginning of an era when Jesus was born. Mother Mary was blessed with a baby, they named Jesus. He grew up and did a lot for the people around him and was regarded as a God.

On the eve of Christmas that is on 24th December which is also called Christmas Eve the people celebrating offer service at midnight. For the midnight mass service, the Catholics gather to prepare many delicacies for the people and families who may not afford to celebrate. They can come and enjoy the feast.

This is a cultural and religious festival for Christians. And the spirit of this day is so universal that everyone joins in on the celebration. 25th December also evokes joy, hope and togetherness. Families and friends get together to celebrate and exchange gifts and cards. In many circles, people celebrate by giving gifts as secret Santa where the recipient must guess who the secret Santa is.

Customized cards for friends and family members are also handmade to make it more special. People greet each other by wishing Merry Christmas.

The traditions in ways to celebrate this day vary from family to family. Some old traditions are carried forward while others try to renew it going ahead. The commonality in these traditions though is that celebration is empty without singing carols. Christmas carols are sung by kids and adults to welcome this day. Today we also have students who are going to sing carols for us, so get ready to sing along. And Santa might be visiting later with tons of surprises.

The celebration continues to hold the high spirits this day brings for 12 days after December 25th, this is called Christmastide. This day also marks the celebration of the triumph of the good in all of us. It truly encourages us to be kind and compassionate to everybody. Merry Christmas to everyone and now let’s begin the celebrations.

This celebration is one of the integral parts of the holiday celebrations of the year.

The custom of celebration in various countries involves mix of Christian, pre-Christian, secular themes and origins. Some of the most important customs of this holiday celebration are gift sharing, distributing gifts by Santa Claus , Christmas cards distribution, Christmas music, singing Christmas songs, lighting candles, church services, having a special meal, special Christmas decorations, Christmas trees, Christmas lights, and so many. Christmas tree, Christmas cards, Santa Claus, gifts, etc matters a lot at this occasion.

25th of December is the most important day of the year for Christians. They also celebrate Easter to remember the death and resurrection of the Jesus Christ. People start preparations for Christmas which is called as Advent and it begins on Sunday of four weeks before the Christmas. The whole season of Christmas is known as Christmastide which ends on 6th of January means 12th day of Christmas during which Epiphany is remembered by the people.

There is a traditional of keeping fast especially by the Catholics, they do not eat from 1st to 24th of December and eat after midnight service. Santa Claus (the Christmas Father) is also called as Christmas Baba (in Hindi), Baba Christmas (in Urdu), Christmas Thaathaa (in Tamil ), Christmas Thatha (in Telugu), Natal Bua (in Marathi), and Christmas Papa in (in Malayalam).

We eagerly wait for this great occasion every year. It is one of the happiest and enjoyable festivals of the winter season. It falls every year in the mid of winter season, on 25th of December. It is celebrated by the people of many religions worldwide however especially by the Christians. The tradition of celebrating it varies from country to country however almost similar. The most common activities are decorating and lighting Christmas trees, hanging Advent wreaths, buying Christmas stockings, candy canes, Santa dress, Santa cap, decorating the place with Nativity scenes to show the birth of Jesus Christ, etc. Christmas carols are sung and stories are told to children to let them about the figures like Baby Jesus, Santa Claus, St Nicholas, Christkind, Father Christmas, Grandfather Frost, etc.

Christmas festival is celebrated every year to commemorate the birth of Jesus on 25th of December. Jesus is also called as Jesus of Nazareth or Jesus Christ. He is believed as the Son of God and has been the central figure of Christianity for years. Modern scholars agree with the historical existence of Jesus. It is believed that Jesus was a Jewish rabbi who had preached his messages to people orally. He came on the earth to support his people however crucified for the sins of people. His followers believed that he was back to the life after death. Jesus was the Son of God having unique significance and took birth from the Holy Spirit, a virgin woman named Mary. It is considered that He came to earth as savior of his people. He was one of the important prophets of God and Messiah for innocent people.

This is the month when common greetings like Hello, How do you do etc are replaced by “Happy Christmas!” of course with a warm smile! He founded Christianity, and his disciples continued his aim of restoring peace and love between people. His struggles, innocence, and humanity live on in us. While celebrating His birth, we must never forget his aims and objectives. We must confess to ourselves if we actually live the way he wanted to; if not, we must try to do so.

Christmas is all about love, celebrations, and festivities. We decorate the Christmas Tree and place a Star right at the top. There is this belief that Santa Claus dominates children and their actions. We accept it or not, but we all believe in Santa and want his gift. Baking Gingerbread Cookies, putting Gifts inside Socks, decorating Homes with Christmas Lights, and more. This is all that Christmas is about.

As I conclude, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May the upcoming year bring extreme happiness and prosperity to each one of us. I hope the Holiday Season is joyful for all.
