3 Minute Speech on Friendship

Good Morning to one and all present here. I am going to present a speech about friendship. Friendship is one of the treasures that anyone can possess. God gave us the right to choose friends because they will be with us forever. Our parents and siblings are loving us as they are our own blood. But a friend is someone, who is initially a stranger. Then they take their place in our life above all the other relations. Friendship is nothing but true and pure love without expectations in return.

Speech on Friendship

Role of a Friend

True friends always support each other even during the hardest of times. A true friend is one who feels happy for our success, on the other hand, who feel gloomy for our failures. A true friend may criticize also so that we may come out of our weakness.

He may scold us if we do a mistake and guide the right path. That’s why it is being said that true friend is more precious than any gem in our life. Love from your friend will always be unconditional. They may expect nothing from us but shower their love always.

Friendship – A Divine Relationship

Friendship is a divine relationship, which is beyond the definition of blood relations. It is the only relation that is truly priceless. We may acquire all kinds of pleasures by putting our efforts. But even then life may remain dull, without having someone to share our life with some true friends.

It’s natural that human being always tends to find emotional support and social life. In spite of having everything in life, we may remain in a vacuum. It happens only when we have no such good friend to share our small and small happiness in life. Friends are always there to listen to us unconditionally.

There is no Second Chance for True Friendship

Friendship will provide us with thousands of fun moments in life which we may memorize in our old age. But side by side, with times this relation may have moments of crisis. A misunderstanding may crop in and this amazing relation may start weakening.

Always be the first one to save the friendship. God forbid, if due to some unfavorable reason distance ever arises within this relation, we must not let our friend go. Hold his or her hand and apologize for any mistake done. There is nothing more pathetic in anyone’s life than losing a true friend.

Friendship is a relationship that is like a newborn baby. Friendship is always pure and like a bundle of joy which only needs more and more nourishment to grow. Never ignore true friends or take them for granted. We may come across various people at different phases of our life. Many may pretend to be our friends but never go by outward glitter.

At last, I wish to say that a good friendship is very difficult to come across. Therefore, we should appreciate this divine relationship having a base on understanding and feelings. We just need friends to live happily. Lasting friendship is a blessing for everyone.

We don`t need to pretend to be someone else when we spend time with our friends. They give us total freedom to be who we are in reality. We should always be grateful to people who make us happy. A true friend is one of the most precious possessions in anyone’s life.

Are you speaking at a graduation ceremony, a farewell party, or a casual gathering of friends? Understanding the context will help you determine the appropriate tone—whether it be celebratory, reflective, or even humorous. Offering Practical Advice and Reflection

Friendship speech example #1.

Good morning/afternoon/evening!

Friendship is a testament to the beauty of human connection. It goes beyond mere acquaintanceship and delves into the realm of deep understanding, trust, and shared experiences. A friend is someone who knows us for who we truly are and accepts us without judgment. They see our strengths, our weaknesses, and everything in between, yet choose to stand by our side through it all.

In a world that often feels divided, friendship unites us. It breaks down barriers, fosters empathy and compassion, and reminds us of our shared humanity. Through friendship, we learn to appreciate our differences, to celebrate diversity, and to embrace the richness that comes from engaging with people from various backgrounds and perspectives.

To cultivate and nurture friendships, we must be willing to invest time and effort. It requires being present, actively listening, and showing genuine care and interest in the lives of our friends. It means being there for them in both good times and bad, celebrating their achievements and providing a source of strength during challenging times. Small gestures of kindness and thoughtfulness can go a long way in deepening the bonds of friendship.

Thank you for your attention, and may the bonds of friendship continue to inspire and illuminate our lives.

Friendship Speech Example #2

Today, I want to take a moment to reflect on one of life’s greatest treasures: friendship. Friendship is a beacon of light that guides us, a source of strength that uplifts us, and a tapestry of shared memories that weaves together the chapters of our lives.

True friendship is based on a foundation of trust, respect, and authenticity. It is a safe haven where we can be our true selves, free from judgment or pretense. Our friends see us for who we are, flaws and all, and love us unconditionally. They provide a space where we can express our hopes, dreams, fears, and vulnerabilities without fear of rejection. In their presence, we can grow and evolve, knowing that we have their unwavering support.

Friendship is not just about the good times; it is also about weathering the storms together. It is during the challenging moments that the strength of friendship shines brightest. Friends offer a listening ear, a comforting embrace, and words of wisdom when life becomes overwhelming. They provide a fresh perspective, offering guidance and encouragement to help us navigate through difficult situations. With friends by our side, we are reminded that we are never alone in our struggles.

In conclusion, let us celebrate the gift of friendship. Let us express gratitude for those special individuals who have touched our lives, who have shared our laughter and wiped away our tears. May we cherish and nurture these connections, for they are the foundation of love, support, and understanding. And as we continue our journey through life, may we always be open to new friendships, for each one has the potential to bring new meaning and joy to our lives.

Friendship Speech Example #3

Friendship is a sanctuary where we find solace and comfort. It is a space where we can freely express our thoughts, emotions, and fears, knowing that our friends will listen without judgment. They offer a shoulder to lean on, a compassionate ear to hear our sorrows, and a kind heart to share our joys. In their presence, we feel seen, heard, and understood.

Friendship is also a catalyst for personal growth. Our friends inspire us to be the best versions of ourselves. They challenge us to step outside of our comfort zones, pursue our passions, and confront our fears. They provide honest feedback and constructive criticism, helping us recognize our blind spots and encouraging us to strive for continuous improvement.

In a world that can sometimes feel fragmented and isolated, friendship has the power to bridge divides. It fosters empathy, compassion, and understanding. Through our friendships, we gain exposure to different cultures, perspectives, and worldviews, broadening our horizons and enriching our lives. Friendship teaches us the value of acceptance, tolerance, and embracing diversity.

Thank you for your attention, and may the spirit of friendship continue to illuminate our lives with love, laughter, and lasting connections.

Final Thoughts

In conclusion, friendship is a powerful force that enriches our lives and shapes our very being. Crafting a memorable speech on friendship requires a deep understanding of its essence, purpose, and audience. By sharing personal experiences, utilizing emotional appeal, incorporating inspirational quotes, and offering practical advice, you can create a speech that resonates with your listeners and leaves a lasting impact. So, let us celebrate the beauty of friendship, honor those who have touched our lives, and continue to cultivate meaningful connections that will uplift and inspire us throughout our journey.

Friendship Speech: One of the most valuable relationships that anyone can make is friends. The bond that exists between two friends is far stronger and precious than the bond that exists between blood. We make friends throughout our lives right from our childhood. Life is an endless loop of making and breaking friends but the whole process of friendship making is what is worth our time in life.

In this particular friendship speech, we shall be giving a beautiful speech on how important friendship is, how to make friends, and what would life be if we didn’t have any friends.

Long and Short Speeches on Friendship for Students and Kids in English

If you are searching for a well-written speech for your debates or public speaking events on friendship, then we have given two different friendship speeches below. Long friendship speech in English with a word limit of 600 and short friendship speech in English with a word limit of 200 can be used by students for various extracurricular and co-curricular activities in schools and colleges.

Long Speech on Friendship 600 Words in English

Long Speech on Friendship is usually given to classes 7, 8, 9, and 10.

The fact that I have the confidence to come on the stage and speak in front of so many people today in this public speaking event in our school auditorium is because of the confidence and support that my friends gave me. It is my honor today to give a speech on friendship in front of so many of my friends and I would like to use this platform to extend my heartfelt thanks to all my friends who have been with me through my ups and downs.

Friendship is probably the only relationship and the bond that you will develop in your life that comes with no strings attached. Every relationship in your life, whether it’s with your husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, mother, father, sister or manager comes with some kind of strings attached and it always involves certain types of given and take obligations. But, a pure friendship is the only relationship in a world where there are no strings attached and you can have your relationship without any obligation of giving and taking.

Students can also find Paragraph on Friendship  and Essay on Friendship from here.

It is this beauty of friendship where you don’t feel any obligation is that makes friendship one of the best bonds that humans can create. There are various types of friendship we give names to such as best friends, few people are close friends, few people just friends and a few people good friends. There is no proper definition for this friendship category but it depends on the kind of mental synchronization that we have with them and how easily we can gel with them compared to other people.

But a lot of us, especially in our college days in school days, find it difficult to make friends easily. Some of us may have lost friends, some of us have gained a lot of friends, some of us have a big circle of friends and some of us have a very small and tiny circle of friends, but at the end of the day, irrespective of how many friends and what type of friends you have, the only thing you will remember about your college and school days is the fun and folly that we have with our friends. Let us admit that without friends, our life will simply be incomplete.

Through this platform provided for me to speak about friendship speech, I would like to address a few issues that many of us face while having friends and maintaining that relationship forever. Jealousy, ego and possessiveness are some of the human tendencies that each and every one of us has. Some of us might be judgemental, some of us might not be judgemental but at the end of the day we are all human beings and we are all born to have both good qualities and bad qualities within us.

While making friends, we look at only their good qualities but during the course of friendship, we get triggered by their bad qualities and hence end up breaking the friendship with them. A strong friendship is that relationship where we understand both the good and bad qualities of our friends and help them grow together. If you enjoy laughing and having a good time with them, it is only human to be with them during their bad times and share their sorrows and grievances.

I would like to conclude this friendship speech by saying that there is no person on this planet who will be perfect. Imperfections are what make human beings beautiful and we have to celebrate these perfections and imperfections with grace. Making and breaking friendship is a natural tendency and neither of it should be the reason for you to lose faith in friendship. Friendship is one of the most valuable and precious bonds and each and every one of us should live through that before it’s too late.

Short Speech on Friendship 200 Words in English

Short Speech on Friendship is usually given to classes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.

The only memories I have of my school and college days are the fun and enjoyment that I had with my friends. I don’t remember how much I scored in what subject or how well I was appreciated by my teachers, but all I remember is teasing my friends sharing a burst of laughter or two and having some shoulder to cry on. The kind of things that we share with our friends is those things which we cannot share with our families or even our parents.

Friendship comes with no strings attached, no judgments and no jealousy. But what we have to remember is that no person on the planet is perfect and human beings come with both good qualities and bad qualities so do our friendships with people. We can live a happy and content life if we let go of the bad qualities of our friends and concentrate on only on one good quality and if we are good enough, then we help them grow through the bad qualities together.

I would like to conclude my short friendship speech by saying that there is no relationship on earth that is as pure as friendship. It comes with its own baggage of good and bad and the mixture of these both qualities is what makes friendship beautiful.

Friendship Speech for Students in English

Friends are the family one chooses, and true friends stay with us through thick and thin. A speech on friendship can be given on the occasion of friendship day or any occasion when one wants to celebrate friendship and share the role of friendship in one’s life with others. Here, we will discuss several ways of presenting a friendship speech, like a long speech on friendship and a short speech on friendship. Also, 10 lines on friendship speech in English are discussed below.

Long and Short Friendship Speech in English

Long speech on friendship.

A long version of a speech on friendship can be framed as follows.

Very good morning to everyone. Today, I would like to deliver a speech on friendship which will take us on a walk through the streets of nostalgia and relive the precious essence of friendship that we all have experienced.

Friend. That one kid who stole your candy in school or the one student who gained more marks than you in college, or the topper who taught you everything just before an exam in university. Every friend that crosses our path in life always has something to give us, be it good memories, lessons, or just something worthwhile. True friends are always there for us through thick and thin, through good or bad, and through weal and woe. True friends support us in our decisions and correct us for our well-being. Through this speech on friendship, I am delighted to extend my gratitude to all such friends I am blessed with.

All types of friendships have something or the other that’s unique and special, a best friend, an acquaintance, or a group of friends. Whoever that may be, a friend should always be the one who fuels our passion to flying rather than clipping our wings. As we grow older, making new friends seems to be a tough job as we create a comfort zone of our own. So, the ones who remain friends since childhood and never give up on each other are the ones who are valuable.

Friendship shouldn’t be accompanied by jealousy, ego, or insecurity. A good friendship is one where people can share all their emotions heart to heart without the fear of being judged. Although friends have numerous memories to giggle about, friendship is not only about smiles or jokes. Friends should always respect each other, understand each other and support each other throughout. No one is perfect in this world. So, insecurities and flaws just make a person complete and friends are the ones who never judge each other over each other’s flaws or insecurities, rather support each other when they get agitated due to the same. Searching for the good in people, accepting their flaws, and staying loyal help people end up being good friends.

Friends are very special as we choose them to be with us and include them in our lives. So, one must make sure that they choose good ones. In this busy world, people tend to drift apart from each other due to work or other engagements. Friendships are the strongest when they reach a stage where they don't need to communicate every day to maintain the bond.

In conclusion, I would like to say that with time, friends also become family and a place for us to seek closure. Such friends should be cherished and celebrated as much as possible, and gratitude should be expressed from time to time. I am so grateful to have such amazing friends who are like a family to me. I am thankful for these precious bonds that I have created over time and spending time with them makes everything better. Friendship is the only bond that survives through thick and thin.

Short Speech on Friendship

A short friendship speech can be given on any occasion. Here, students can find an easy way to express their views on friendship in simple words.

Good morning all, today I will speak on friendship. It’s an apt topic for me; a few years ago I would not even have the courage to stand on this stage before you all. I owe a lot to my friends who have supported me and converted my weaknesses into my strengths. Friends are the ones who bring out the best in you. They will always be there for you and turn to your side in good and bad times. Friends are special as they never make you feel alone. They uplift you when you feel discouraged. They are the ones who also bring us to the right path when we are lost.

In friendship, there is no room for negativity or negative emotions. Negative emotions like ego, jealousy, hatred, possessiveness, and anger can only ruin relationships. A true friend is one who can recognize such emotions and help you bring them out. This proves their sincerity and loyalty towards you and such friends should always be held close. We all lose some friends along the way due to distance or misunderstandings. On the other hand, we also gain many real friends who believe in us and support us no matter what the circumstances are.

In conclusion, I would like to add, friendship is a mixed bag and there is every emotion in it and many ups and downs along the way. We should enjoy this gift of friendship and always lead with love, honesty, and understanding.

10 Line Friendship Speech

This form of friendship speech is very useful for students in grades 1-3, who are only discovering friendship in their way, and in these 10 lines, they can understand it simply and more clearly.

Friendship is the first relationship we form after the family.

Making friends is a very natural tendency in one’s life.

When one is younger, they form more friends easily as they are curious and new in this journey of life.

Such early formed friendships can last a lifetime together.

As these childhood friends grow along with us through the good and the bad times.

They are sincere, loyal, honest, understanding, and non-judgmental.

As one becomes older, one becomes angry, jealous, and egoistic.

No friendship should be led with harboring negative feelings.

Friendship is the purest form of bond between two people or more.

The more true friends you have the more sweet life becomes and we can live life to the fullest.

Friendship is one of the most beautiful relationships people can have. A speech on friendship can be given on the occasion of friendship day or even any other normal day because friendship, whenever celebrated, just warms everyone's hearts. So, these are some ways of giving a good speech on friendship like a long speech on friendship, a short speech on friendship and a 10 lines friendship speech in English.

Speech about Friendship

Speculating upon what to write and what not to write when you sit down to prepare a speech on friendship? This article will offer some hand-holding and assist you to write your own friendship day speech.

Speech on How Important It Is to Have a Friend?

As social beings, humans always look out for companionship irrespective of the kind of people they are. Friends make one’s life meaningful and colourful. As kids, your cousins would be the first friends you make. As you grow up, you meet random people who express similar interests, and these are the ones who become your friends eventually.

Friendship is as sweet as it is, but you should always try to make the right kind of friends who would be a strong support in helping you grow. Bad friends can make you feel good about what you do, especially when you do something that is not right. This kind of a friendship would never help you grow to become the kind of person you are destined to be. Good friends, on the other hand, are one of the most wonderful treasures life can possibly give you. Friends are the family you choose. They always stand by you in every situation, no matter what.

Below are a few samples that would aid you in writing a speech on friendship, one that you can say not just on a friendship day but any random day when you want to let your friends know how important they are to you.

Friendship Day Speech

Short speech about friendship, faqs on friendship day.

Friendship Day is celebrated on the first Sunday in the month of August. The idea of celebrating Friendship Day globally was first thought of by Dr. Roman Artemio Bracho in 1958. It, however, was made official by the United Nations General Assembly in 2011. July 30 was declared as the International Day of Friendship with the idea of instilling friendly relations between people, countries, cultures and individuals, which would, in turn, inspire peace among different communities. Since then, people all around the world celebrate Friendship Day by exchanging friendship bands, gifts and greeting cards.

Being in school, Friendship Day was one of the most anticipated celebrations when you wait to collect as many friendship bands as possible every year. To a school kid, the number of friendship bands meant that you had a lot of friends. Friendship bands are definitely a good way to make new friends and also to remind your old friends that they matter to you. However, I would like to say that the number of friendship bands you gain on a Friendship Day does not count. All that counts is that you have at least one friend who has always got your back and would not give up on you even when you give up on yourself. You will feel a lot more lively and confident with just this one person by your side. Friends don’t stand by you only when you are happy; they make sure you are holding up and getting better even in the toughest times. They will love you for what you are and hold your hand even at your worst.

Make friends with your kind of people, and you will have the time of your life. There might be misunderstandings and fights among friends, but it is these fights that would make your bond even stronger. Friends eventually become your family. So, on this Friendship Day, I wish you good friendships and a life filled with happiness and adventure. Happy Friendship Day everyone.

Vladimir Lenin said, “Show me who your friends are, and I will tell you what you are.” The friends you keep are a reflection of the kind of person you are. One becomes friends with people who share similar interests. C.S. Lewis said, “Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another, ‘What! You too? I thought I was the only one.” Those who like the same songs, bond over a favourite series or a nostalgic place are the ones who would for sure turn out to be the closest and thickest of friends.

Friends always stand by you. From participating in competitions to getting scolded by parents and teachers, your friends will be there all along. They will keep all your secrets safe and give you the solutions to almost every problem. A good friend guides you and helps you choose the right path.

Have you ever thought what it would be like to live in a world without friends? Those who have had good friends in their life can never imagine a life without them. Friends can influence your life to a great extent in both good and bad ways. It is up to you to choose the right company to keep. Cherish your friends and the times you spend with them because they make the future you. So choose your friends wisely and live life to the fullest.

Why are friends so special?

Friends include the best kind of people you have in your life. Friends can be your unpaid therapist. They can help you out of any mood swings and can cheer you up even if you do not want to feel better. Having a good friend is one of the greatest gifts of life. Cherish your friends and the times you spend with them because they make the future you.

What makes a good friend?

A good friend would be a person who is a well-wisher and the one who would always push you to do your best. A good friend knows you better than you think you know yourself. A good friend would hold your hand and stand beside you in all your happiest and saddest moments of life.

What are the quotes you can use in a friendship day speech?

Some examples of quotes that can be used when you write down your Friendship Day speech are given below: “A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.” — Walter Winchell “The only way to have a friend is to be one.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson “A good friend is a connection to life, a tie to the past, a road to the future, the key to sanity in a totally insane world.” — Lois Wyse “True friends are those rare people who come to find you in dark places and lead you back to the light.” — Anonymous

Speech on Best Friend

Everyone needs a best friend, someone who knows you better than anyone else. They’re like a bright star in your life, making your days happier and more colorful.

A best friend isn’t just a friend; they’re your cheerleader, your secret keeper, and sometimes, your superhero. They’re the one who stands by you, no matter what.

1-minute Speech on Best Friend

Ladies and Gentlemen,

A best friend is like a four-leaf clover, hard to find but lucky to have. It’s like a rare gem, shining brighter in the darkest times. When we think about a best friend, we think about someone who stands by us, no matter what. A person who knows us inside out, who can tell when we’re happy, sad, or angry, just by looking at our faces.

A best friend is not just a friend, but a family member. They are there to share our joys, to laugh with us, to celebrate our victories. And when we stumble, they are there to catch us, to help us stand up again, to give us strength when we feel weak.

Best friends are our secret-keepers. They are the ones we trust with our deepest secrets, our wildest dreams, and our biggest fears. They listen to us without judgment, they understand us without explanation, and they love us without conditions.

Best friends push us to be better. They inspire us, motivate us, and challenge us. They don’t let us settle for less than we deserve. They believe in us, even when we don’t believe in ourselves.

In the end, a best friend is not just a person. It’s a feeling, a bond, a connection that can’t be described in words. It’s a sense of comfort, a sense of belonging, a sense of home. So, let’s cherish our best friends, because they are the rarest and the most precious gifts of life.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, today we gather to celebrate a special bond, a bond that stands the test of time. We are here to talk about our best friends. Best friends are like the morning sun that brightens our day, like the gentle moon that guides us through the night. They are the stars in our sky, always shining, always there.

Now, let’s think about how we choose our best friends. We don’t choose them for their looks or their money. We don’t choose them for their popularity or their power. We choose them for their hearts, for their kindness, for their honesty. We choose them because they make us feel loved, because they make us feel special, because they make us feel like we matter.

Best friends are not just there for the good times. They are there for the hard times too. They are the ones who pick us up when we fall, who push us forward when we want to give up. They are the ones who believe in us, even when we don’t believe in ourselves. They are the ones who remind us of our worth, of our strength, of our potential.

But being a best friend is not just about taking, it’s also about giving. It’s about being there for your friend, just like they are there for you. It’s about listening to them, just like they listen to you. It’s about supporting them, just like they support you. It’s about loving them, just like they love you.

In conclusion, a best friend is a blessing. They are a gift that we should cherish, a treasure that we should protect. So, let’s take a moment to thank our best friends, to tell them how much they mean to us, to show them how much we appreciate them. And let’s promise to be the best friend that they deserve, today, tomorrow, and always. Because in the end, the love of a best friend is the kind of love that lasts a lifetime.

Learn how to write a speech along with many tips and tricks!

Sample 1: Importance of Friendship Speech (200-300 words)

Good morning everyone! I am ABC and today I stand before you to present a speech on the importance of friendship. Friendship is among the few relations we choose for ourselves, all other relations are the ones we are born with. People who become friends soon turn as close as our families. Friendship is not a blood relation instead it is a heart-to-heart connection that is voluntary. It rejuvenates the soul, gives a purpose to live life, makes good times memorable and rough phases liveable.

According to a study, people who have genuine friends in their life are less susceptible to chronic illnesses such as depression, high blood pressure, anxiety, and obesity. However, just like a coin, friendship has two sides. One may come across people who are highly manipulative, selfish, and narcissistic. Such people are deemed toxic and can ruin one’s life. A not-so-genuine and fake friendship makes your life appear bland, hampers self-confidence and self-esteem. On the other hand, a true friendship helps you embrace positivity, look for meaning in life’s problems, make life enjoyable, and elevates self-confidence and self-esteem. Be cautious of your company and if you have found a set of few genuine friends, then make a voluntary effort to keep in touch with them and make them feel important. Honest friends are a valuable and priceless treasure that very few people come across in their life. Finally, I would like to conclude on a positive note that a true friendship is a journey with an end.

Sample 2: Importance of Friendship Speech (400-500 words)

Good morning everyone! I am ABC and today I stand before you to present a speech on the importance of friendship. Well-known philosophers from across the globe have talked about how friendships have helped them in shaping up their personalities and achieve success. The most valuable and priceless gift one can get is an honest friend.

In today’s world, it is becoming very difficult to trust someone completely, people fear betrayal and deception from their friends and that tells us how important true friendship is for an individual. We all, at times, fail to recognize who our true friend is and it is important to look out for certain qualities in your friends to trust them.

True friends are honest with each other, give each other time and stay with each other through thick and thin. One can freely communicate with their true friend without any kind of hesitation and be their true authentic selves with them. People don’t need to appear pretentious in front of their true friend. When life is smooth sailing, everyone wants to befriend you but see the ones who stand with you in tough phases of life. These are the people whom you should trust and count upon. A true friend will genuinely appreciate and criticize you because they believe in mutual growth and success. Acceptance and sacrifice are the prerequisites of an authentic friendship. Remember, selflessness unites and selfishness divides. For being a genuine friend, be clean-hearted and trustworthy enough, so that someone can count on you.

Friendship makes life worth living, refreshes the soul, makes you feel good about yourself.

However, an ugly friendship can ruin an individual completely and hamper self-esteem. Some of the modern problems, such as depression, divorce, obesity, and suicidal tendencies are connected to friendship. Whereas a genuine friendship can transform you in the best possible manner and help you self-actualize.  Friendship is what children, adults, and old people crave because a real friendship helps you smile more, cry less, and enjoy life to the fullest.

But always stay away from people who ghost you in times of need, never care about your well-being and make it difficult for you to live your life and stay happy. Finally, I would like to say that friendship is not a one-way street on which you can walk alone. Friendship is a two-way highway where, on both sides, love and communication must flow unhindered. Thank you so much to all of you for being patient listeners.

Speech On What Is friendship [1,2,3 Minutes]

What Is Friendship Speech: Choosing good friends is a must because it can make or break your identity in society. Friendship is not a blood relation but sometimes it is more than that. We share a relationship with our friends that is unconditional and unbound.

“A friend in need is a friend indeed”. This saying defines true friendship in fewer words. Truly, A true friend is one who not only stands there in your good moment but also supports and appreciate you in your hardships.

1 Minute Speech on What is Friendship

A day that is void of friends is to mean an incomplete one. Friendship makes every day a celebration. I cordially thank God for gifting me with a range of true friends who complete my life.

Hello and welcome to all the people present here. Before I start my speech on friendship, I would like to wish you a good day. Also, I want to thank you for having me this valuable opportunity.

All blood relationships are defined from the day we take birth but friendship is a relationship that can’t be defined without mutual affection. Friendship does not depend on any caste, creed, colour, nationality etc. You can make friends of any age, from any country, from any community.

Friendship is the most transparent and divine relationship among all the other relations. It is considered the best life when someone has a lot of good friends. Friendship supports you in life not only in happy times but also in your hardships.

This is all about what I think of friendship. Thank you for listening to my words. I hope you liked them.

1 Minute Speech on What is Friendship

2 Minute Speech on What is Friendship

Greetings to everyone gathered here, I (your name) cordially welcome all of you. I also want to thank you for having me a chance to deliver a speech on friendship.

So, What is friendship? Did you ever try to define it? I know you all understand what friendship is and what is its significance. But to define friendship is a little bit hard because it can not be expressed through words. Every other person perceives friendship in a different way.

But we can explore the term- “Friendship” using our common sense that everyone will agree with. “A friend in need is a friend indeed”. This quotation defines true friendship in a few words. Actually, A true friend is one who not only stands there in your good moment but also gives you a shoulder to cry on in your hardships.

Your friends are your extended family . They treat you like your family members. They share mutual affection with you. They know your strengths, your weaknesses, your secrets, your emotions etc. They use to irritate you, they make fun of you, they fight with you, they laugh with you, they weep with you. But what is hidden here is They love you in every act.

True friendship suggests having a connection free of any rules. It is free from any judgments and it gives you a sense of feeling loved and accepted. True friends are rare to find and you are destined enough to have them.

Concluding, having a good friendship that inspires you, supports you, and always stands by you at difficult times is luck. Sometimes this friendship is found more than blood relationships.

I stop here to give others a chance. I hope you like my words. Thank you so much.

3 Minute Speech on What is Friendship

If I ask you whose company you like the most? I am sure that most of you will say “friends”. That is the importance of friendship. Our friends know us more than our family. Aren’t you agree?

There are tons of relationships in the world but friendship is above all. That is because any relationship can fetch you boredom but friendship will not. You enjoy the world the most when you are with your friends. They multiply your happiness & cut down your sorrow.

You will find a range of definitions of friendship in the dictionary, but the truth is that it can not be defined in words. Obviously, you can describe friendship in your own way but it can not have a proper definition. That is because everybody perceives friendship in his/her own way.

Your friends do not pass judgements on you but it does not mean that they accept your negative points. Rather, they get you out of your negative things without judging you. They appreciate your achievements without being jealous. They inspire you to turn your weaknesses into strengths.

Your friends are your extended family. They treat you like your family members. They share mutual affection with you. They know your strengths, your weaknesses, your secrets, your emotions etc.

They use to irritate you, they make fun of you, they fight with you, they laugh with you, they weep with you. But what is hidden here is they love you in every act.

To sum it up, friendship keeps us stay strong in life. Having a caring family is all okay but you also need true friendship in life to be perfectly happy.

Speech on Friendship

Friendship speech 1.

As we have gathered here at this auspicious occasion, I would like to speech over the friendship. First of all I would like to say Good morning to the Excellencies, respected teachers and my dear friends. A friend is a most precious gift to all of us. We should always understand its importance and give value without having any misunderstanding. Friendship is a relationship where no any blood relation exists. It is a limitless relation goes forever without the rule of give and take. It is the special and unique relation of love and affection to any other person in the world. True friendship never sees the caste, creed, religion and colour of person; it only sees the internal beauty, simplicity and soul of the two or three person going to be involved in the friendship.

Friend of anyone is someone with whom one may feel comfortable and belief to each other as well as share their thoughts, ideas and personal feelings. Friend is one with whom we can feel safe and secure and do not need to think twice for any matter. True friends involved in the friendship love each other unconditionally and understand each other need without judging on the matter. They always ready to support each other and provide good knowledge and advice. There is a most famous friendship of Krishna and Sudama in India which has become a great example of true friendship from the ancient time. There is a common saying about the friendship by the Elbert Hubbard “A friend is someone who knows all about you and still loves you.”

A true friend always stands together and helps whenever another one need help and support. A true friend never cares his/her own important works and leaves all works to help friends. He/she never leave a friend alone especially during the difficult times of life. It is said that time takes hard exams of true friends in their difficult times. Actually difficult time is a best time which realizes us about the value and importance of true friends. The people having true friends in the life are really blessed with most precious gifts. Making number of friends in the life does not matter with the quality of friendship. True friends (whether one, two or three) are enough for whole life; instead of having many friends who never understand the situation of the needy one. Friends are the real supporter in life who teaches us how to face difficulties of life. They are the real well wishers of us who changes our bad viewpoints about anything for good.

Friendship Speech 2

Good morning to the Excellencies, respected teachers and my colleagues, at this great occasion I would like to speech on the friendship. I have especially selected this topic to keep my views in front of you about the value and importance of friendship. Friendship is the purest forms of relation exist between two, three or more people. Getting a true, sincere and loving friend in this world is really the matter of luck. True friendship is a special gift from God to one of us who get it. True friends make our meaningless life meaningful and show us a true path of success in the life. They are friends who make our journey of life easy, joyous and vibrant. They never laugh at our mistakes instead they lead us on right path by continuous support.

True friends always become free for their friends and ready to help them in their difficult times of life even after being involved in the busy schedule. Friendship is a truly priceless relation in this world which can never be bought or sold to anyone. It depends on the true love created in the heart of people involved in the friendship. It never depends on the materialistic pleasure of the world. Genuine friends are the real happiness of the life who never forget each other and always support. We as a human being always get problems in the life time to time according to the situation and get difficulty in living the social life which needs emotional and moral support. In such conditions, our true friends plays great role and take us out of the difficulties. A life without true friend is considered as incomplete life. It does not matter that you have a happy and luxurious life however it matters when you does not have any true friends all through the life.

A good friend is one whom we can share every small and big happiness, secrets and problems of life without any hesitation. Friendship is a relation which prevents us from the emotional problems as it promotes us to share our inner thoughts and feelings. True friends never criticize their friends instead they help them to come out of the shortcomings. They guide them like a tunnel of light whenever one follows wrong path. True friends always understand full rights of them on their friends and advice them truly to chose right path. They take our every mistake seriously and try to show us right way in right direction. We can say that true friend is more precious than any priceless gem in the world.

Friendship Speech 3

Good morning to the Excellencies, respected teachers and my lovely friends. The topic of my speech today is friendship. As we all know that true friendship is a precious gift in the life. As being a social animal we cannot live our life alone. We naturally get attracted towards each other according to our need and requirement and in the particular course of time our intimacy grows between us which remains for long time. There exists high level of trust between each other which is called friendship. Generally, persons of the same age, similar passions, emotions, sentiments and status gets involved in the friendship however it is completely independent of the age, sex, social status, etc. True friendship can be between two people of any age, religion, caste, sex, and social status.

Friendship is a true relation required by all of us for our goodness. We all need company of true friends whole life to pass our days cheerfully. They stand with us together in our all happy and bad days as well as give us real joy in life by sharing our happy and sad moments. The example of real friendship is very rare to see in the life. The true and historical friendship we know ever is the friendship of Krishna and Sudama. Some people become very selfish and do friendship with rich, clever and high social status people only for their own benefits. Such friends never support in bad times of the life instead always want to get benefited by them. They leave their friends in bad times however true friends never leave their friends alone and help them whenever they need.

Many selfish people make rounds of the good people to make friendship with them. The recognition of true friends become only in bad times as true friends never left alone and bad friends always do opposite. We should take caution of such selfish friends while making friendship to them anytime in the life. Real friends always help their friends whenever they become in need. There is a common saying about true friendship “A friend in need is a friend indeed” and “Fortune brings friends but adversity tries them”.

True friends have good character, good feelings and well wishes about their friends. They never try to give pain to their friends in the life instead they help them always by being in touch forever. True friendship has no any blood relation however does more than any blood relation.

Friendship Speech 4

Good morning to the Excellencies, respected teachers and my dear friends. I would like to speech on the topic of friendship. First of all I would like to say lots of thanks to my class teacher who has given me such a great chance to speech at this occasion. Friendship is one of the most precious and beautiful relationships in this world. This relationship is not a blood relation however do a lot more than all blood relations which we cannot imagine and express into words. Real and true friends become the pillar of strength for us who always give us needed emotional support and physical support.

True friends never feel bad in spending their precious time and feel greatest joys of them whenever their friends need help in bad moments of life. It is very tough to get true friendship in this world however not impossible. We should not get tired and always search for the good friends throughout the life because it is hard to get but not impossible.

True friends always become together throughout the life together with fulfilling their responsibilities towards their family. Friendship is a lovely relationship memorizes us with sweet moments all through the life. We see movies, listen songs, see TV serials, eat food, study and other works together without any hassle. Some questions arises in the mind of everyone such as why good friends are necessary in the life, why true friends have more value than other relations in our life, what is the truth of this invisible bond which holds two or more friends together for years or lifetime, what lessons a true friendship teaches us and so many questions.

Trust is very necessary in all relations however it comes naturally in the matter of friendship. True friendship goes on forever with the mutual trust and proper understanding. Trust and understanding increases when relationship becomes deep and mature with time. Sometimes our best friends take deeper place in our heart more than our parents, brothers and sisters. We always believe on our best friends and follow their judgement blindly with the confidence that they never lead us on wrong way.

We always remember all the nice moments with friends such as sharing toys, favourite possessions, lunch boxes, clothes, books, home works, etc. The habit of sharing with friends teaches us of being unselfish and generous whole life.

How to write a speech that your audience remembers

Confident-woman-giving-a-conference-with-a-digital-presentation-how-to-give-a-speech

Whether in a work meeting or at an investor panel, you might give a speech at some point. And no matter how excited you are about the opportunity, the experience can be nerve-wracking .

But feeling butterflies doesn’t mean you can’t give a great speech. With the proper preparation and a clear outline, apprehensive public speakers and natural wordsmiths alike can write and present a compelling message. Here’s how to write a good speech you’ll be proud to deliver.

What is good speech writing?

Good speech writing is the art of crafting words and ideas into a compelling, coherent, and memorable message that resonates with the audience. Here are some key elements of great speech writing:

  • It begins with clearly understanding the speech's purpose and the audience it seeks to engage.
  • A well-written speech clearly conveys its central message, ensuring that the audience understands and retains the key points.
  • It is structured thoughtfully, with a captivating opening, a well-organized body, and a conclusion that reinforces the main message.
  • Good speech writing embraces the power of engaging content, weaving in stories, examples, and relatable anecdotes to connect with the audience on both intellectual and emotional levels.

Ultimately, it is the combination of these elements, along with the authenticity and delivery of the speaker , that transforms words on a page into a powerful and impactful spoken narrative.

What makes a good speech?

A great speech includes several key qualities, but three fundamental elements make a speech truly effective:

Clarity and purpose

Remembering the audience, cohesive structure.

While other important factors make a speech a home run, these three elements are essential for writing an effective speech.

The main elements of a good speech

The main elements of a speech typically include:

  • Introduction: The introduction sets the stage for your speech and grabs the audience's attention. It should include a hook or attention-grabbing opening, introduce the topic, and provide an overview of what will be covered.
  • Opening/captivating statement: This is a strong statement that immediately engages the audience and creates curiosity about the speech topics.
  • Thesis statement/central idea: The thesis statement or central idea is a concise statement that summarizes the main point or argument of your speech. It serves as a roadmap for the audience to understand what your speech is about.
  • Body: The body of the speech is where you elaborate on your main points or arguments. Each point is typically supported by evidence, examples, statistics, or anecdotes. The body should be organized logically and coherently, with smooth transitions between the main points.
  • Supporting evidence: This includes facts, data, research findings, expert opinions, or personal stories that support and strengthen your main points. Well-chosen and credible evidence enhances the persuasive power of your speech.
  • Transitions: Transitions are phrases or statements that connect different parts of your speech, guiding the audience from one idea to the next. Effective transitions signal the shifts in topics or ideas and help maintain a smooth flow throughout the speech.
  • Counterarguments and rebuttals (if applicable): If your speech involves addressing opposing viewpoints or counterarguments, you should acknowledge and address them. Presenting counterarguments makes your speech more persuasive and demonstrates critical thinking.
  • Conclusion: The conclusion is the final part of your speech and should bring your message to a satisfying close. Summarize your main points, restate your thesis statement, and leave the audience with a memorable closing thought or call to action.
  • Closing statement: This is the final statement that leaves a lasting impression and reinforces the main message of your speech. It can be a call to action, a thought-provoking question, a powerful quote, or a memorable anecdote.
  • Delivery and presentation: How you deliver your speech is also an essential element to consider. Pay attention to your tone, body language, eye contact , voice modulation, and timing. Practice and rehearse your speech, and try using the 7-38-55 rule to ensure confident and effective delivery.

While the order and emphasis of these elements may vary depending on the type of speech and audience, these elements provide a framework for organizing and delivering a successful speech.

Man-holding-microphone-at-panel-while-talking--how-to-give-a-speech

How to structure a good speech

You know what message you want to transmit, who you’re delivering it to, and even how you want to say it. But you need to know how to start, develop, and close a speech before writing it.

Think of a speech like an essay. It should have an introduction, conclusion, and body sections in between. This places ideas in a logical order that the audience can better understand and follow them. Learning how to make a speech with an outline gives your storytelling the scaffolding it needs to get its point across.

Here’s a general speech structure to guide your writing process:

  • Explanation 1
  • Explanation 2
  • Explanation 3

How to write a compelling speech opener

Some research shows that engaged audiences pay attention for only 15 to 20 minutes at a time. Other estimates are even lower, citing that people stop listening intently in fewer than 10 minutes . If you make a good first impression at the beginning of your speech, you have a better chance of interesting your audience through the middle when attention spans fade.

Implementing the INTRO model can help grab and keep your audience’s attention as soon as you start speaking. This acronym stands for interest, need, timing, roadmap, and objectives, and it represents the key points you should hit in an opening.

Here’s what to include for each of these points:

  • Interest : Introduce yourself or your topic concisely and speak with confidence . Write a compelling opening statement using relevant data or an anecdote that the audience can relate to.
  • Needs : The audience is listening to you because they have something to learn. If you’re pitching a new app idea to a panel of investors, those potential partners want to discover more about your product and what they can earn from it. Read the room and gently remind them of the purpose of your speech.
  • Timing : When appropriate, let your audience know how long you’ll speak. This lets listeners set expectations and keep tabs on their own attention span. If a weary audience member knows you’ll talk for 40 minutes, they can better manage their energy as that time goes on.
  • Routemap : Give a brief overview of the three main points you’ll cover in your speech. If an audience member’s attention starts to drop off and they miss a few sentences, they can more easily get their bearings if they know the general outline of the presentation.
  • Objectives : Tell the audience what you hope to achieve, encouraging them to listen to the end for the payout.

Writing the middle of a speech

The body of your speech is the most information-dense section. Facts, visual aids, PowerPoints — all this information meets an audience with a waning attention span. Sticking to the speech structure gives your message focus and keeps you from going off track, making everything you say as useful as possible.

Limit the middle of your speech to three points, and support them with no more than three explanations. Following this model organizes your thoughts and prevents you from offering more information than the audience can retain.

Using this section of the speech to make your presentation interactive can add interest and engage your audience. Try including a video or demonstration to break the monotony. A quick poll or survey also keeps the audience on their toes.

Wrapping the speech up

To you, restating your points at the end can feel repetitive and dull. You’ve practiced countless times and heard it all before. But repetition aids memory and learning , helping your audience retain what you’ve told them. Use your speech’s conclusion to summarize the main points with a few short sentences.

Try to end on a memorable note, like posing a motivational quote or a thoughtful question the audience can contemplate once they leave. In proposal or pitch-style speeches, consider landing on a call to action (CTA) that invites your audience to take the next step.

How to write a good speech

If public speaking gives you the jitters, you’re not alone. Roughly 80% of the population feels nervous before giving a speech, and another 10% percent experiences intense anxiety and sometimes even panic.

The fear of failure can cause procrastination and can cause you to put off your speechwriting process until the last minute. Finding the right words takes time and preparation, and if you’re already feeling nervous, starting from a blank page might seem even harder.

But putting in the effort despite your stress is worth it. Presenting a speech you worked hard on fosters authenticity and connects you to the subject matter, which can help your audience understand your points better. Human connection is all about honesty and vulnerability, and if you want to connect to the people you’re speaking to, they should see that in you.

1. Identify your objectives and target audience

Before diving into the writing process, find healthy coping strategies to help you stop worrying . Then you can define your speech’s purpose, think about your target audience, and start identifying your objectives. Here are some questions to ask yourself and ground your thinking :

  • What purpose do I want my speech to achieve?
  • What would it mean to me if I achieved the speech’s purpose?
  • What audience am I writing for?
  • What do I know about my audience?
  • What values do I want to transmit?
  • If the audience remembers one take-home message, what should it be?
  • What do I want my audience to feel, think, or do after I finish speaking?
  • What parts of my message could be confusing and require further explanation?

2. Know your audience

Understanding your audience is crucial for tailoring your speech effectively. Consider the demographics of your audience, their interests, and their expectations. For instance, if you're addressing a group of healthcare professionals, you'll want to use medical terminology and data that resonate with them. Conversely, if your audience is a group of young students, you'd adjust your content to be more relatable to their experiences and interests.

3. Choose a clear message

Your message should be the central idea that you want your audience to take away from your speech. Let's say you're giving a speech on climate change. Your clear message might be something like, "Individual actions can make a significant impact on mitigating climate change." Throughout your speech, all your points and examples should support this central message, reinforcing it for your audience.

4. Structure your speech

Organizing your speech properly keeps your audience engaged and helps them follow your ideas. The introduction should grab your audience's attention and introduce the topic. For example, if you're discussing space exploration, you could start with a fascinating fact about a recent space mission. In the body, you'd present your main points logically, such as the history of space exploration, its scientific significance, and future prospects. Finally, in the conclusion, you'd summarize your key points and reiterate the importance of space exploration in advancing human knowledge.

5. Use engaging content for clarity

Engaging content includes stories, anecdotes, statistics, and examples that illustrate your main points. For instance, if you're giving a speech about the importance of reading, you might share a personal story about how a particular book changed your perspective. You could also include statistics on the benefits of reading, such as improved cognitive abilities and empathy.

6. Maintain clarity and simplicity

It's essential to communicate your ideas clearly. Avoid using overly technical jargon or complex language that might confuse your audience. For example, if you're discussing a medical breakthrough with a non-medical audience, explain complex terms in simple, understandable language.

7. Practice and rehearse

Practice is key to delivering a great speech. Rehearse multiple times to refine your delivery, timing, and tone. Consider using a mirror or recording yourself to observe your body language and gestures. For instance, if you're giving a motivational speech, practice your gestures and expressions to convey enthusiasm and confidence.

8. Consider nonverbal communication

Your body language, tone of voice, and gestures should align with your message . If you're delivering a speech on leadership, maintain strong eye contact to convey authority and connection with your audience. A steady pace and varied tone can also enhance your speech's impact.

9. Engage your audience

Engaging your audience keeps them interested and attentive. Encourage interaction by asking thought-provoking questions or sharing relatable anecdotes. If you're giving a speech on teamwork, ask the audience to recall a time when teamwork led to a successful outcome, fostering engagement and connection.

10. Prepare for Q&A

Anticipate potential questions or objections your audience might have and prepare concise, well-informed responses. If you're delivering a speech on a controversial topic, such as healthcare reform, be ready to address common concerns, like the impact on healthcare costs or access to services, during the Q&A session.

By following these steps and incorporating examples that align with your specific speech topic and purpose, you can craft and deliver a compelling and impactful speech that resonates with your audience.

Tools for writing a great speech

There are several helpful tools available for speechwriting, both technological and communication-related. Here are a few examples:

  • Word processing software: Tools like Microsoft Word, Google Docs, or other word processors provide a user-friendly environment for writing and editing speeches. They offer features like spell-checking, grammar correction, formatting options, and easy revision tracking.
  • Presentation software: Software such as Microsoft PowerPoint or Google Slides is useful when creating visual aids to accompany your speech. These tools allow you to create engaging slideshows with text, images, charts, and videos to enhance your presentation.
  • Speechwriting Templates: Online platforms or software offer pre-designed templates specifically for speechwriting. These templates provide guidance on structuring your speech and may include prompts for different sections like introductions, main points, and conclusions.
  • Rhetorical devices and figures of speech: Rhetorical tools such as metaphors, similes, alliteration, and parallelism can add impact and persuasion to your speech. Resources like books, websites, or academic papers detailing various rhetorical devices can help you incorporate them effectively.
  • Speechwriting apps: Mobile apps designed specifically for speechwriting can be helpful in organizing your thoughts, creating outlines, and composing a speech. These apps often provide features like voice recording, note-taking, and virtual prompts to keep you on track.
  • Grammar and style checkers: Online tools or plugins like Grammarly or Hemingway Editor help improve the clarity and readability of your speech by checking for grammar, spelling, and style errors. They provide suggestions for sentence structure, word choice, and overall tone.
  • Thesaurus and dictionary: Online or offline resources such as thesauruses and dictionaries help expand your vocabulary and find alternative words or phrases to express your ideas more effectively. They can also clarify meanings or provide context for unfamiliar terms.
  • Online speechwriting communities: Joining online forums or communities focused on speechwriting can be beneficial for getting feedback, sharing ideas, and learning from experienced speechwriters. It's an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and improve your public speaking skills through collaboration.

Remember, while these tools can assist in the speechwriting process, it's essential to use them thoughtfully and adapt them to your specific needs and style. The most important aspect of speechwriting remains the creativity, authenticity, and connection with your audience that you bring to your speech.

5 tips for writing a speech

Behind every great speech is an excellent idea and a speaker who refined it. But a successful speech is about more than the initial words on the page, and there are a few more things you can do to help it land.

Here are five more tips for writing and practicing your speech:

1. Structure first, write second

If you start the writing process before organizing your thoughts, you may have to re-order, cut, and scrap the sentences you worked hard on. Save yourself some time by using a speech structure, like the one above, to order your talking points first. This can also help you identify unclear points or moments that disrupt your flow.

2. Do your homework

Data strengthens your argument with a scientific edge. Research your topic with an eye for attention-grabbing statistics, or look for findings you can use to support each point. If you’re pitching a product or service, pull information from company metrics that demonstrate past or potential successes.

Audience members will likely have questions, so learn all talking points inside and out. If you tell investors that your product will provide 12% returns, for example, come prepared with projections that support that statement.

3. Sound like yourself

Memorable speakers have distinct voices. Think of Martin Luther King Jr’s urgent, inspiring timbre or Oprah’s empathetic, personal tone . Establish your voice — one that aligns with your personality and values — and stick with it. If you’re a motivational speaker, keep your tone upbeat to inspire your audience . If you’re the CEO of a startup, try sounding assured but approachable.

4. Practice

As you practice a speech, you become more confident , gain a better handle on the material, and learn the outline so well that unexpected questions are less likely to trip you up. Practice in front of a colleague or friend for honest feedback about what you could change, and speak in front of the mirror to tweak your nonverbal communication and body language .

5. Remember to breathe

When you’re stressed, you breathe more rapidly . It can be challenging to talk normally when you can’t regulate your breath. Before your presentation, try some mindful breathing exercises so that when the day comes, you already have strategies that will calm you down and remain present . This can also help you control your voice and avoid speaking too quickly.

How to ghostwrite a great speech for someone else

Ghostwriting a speech requires a unique set of skills, as you're essentially writing a piece that will be delivered by someone else. Here are some tips on how to effectively ghostwrite a speech:

  • Understand the speaker's voice and style : Begin by thoroughly understanding the speaker's personality, speaking style, and preferences. This includes their tone, humor, and any personal anecdotes they may want to include.
  • Interview the speaker : Have a detailed conversation with the speaker to gather information about their speech's purpose, target audience, key messages, and any specific points they want to emphasize. Ask for personal stories or examples they may want to include.
  • Research thoroughly : Research the topic to ensure you have a strong foundation of knowledge. This helps you craft a well-informed and credible speech.
  • Create an outline : Develop a clear outline that includes the introduction, main points, supporting evidence, and a conclusion. Share this outline with the speaker for their input and approval.
  • Write in the speaker's voice : While crafting the speech, maintain the speaker's voice and style. Use language and phrasing that feel natural to them. If they have a particular way of expressing ideas, incorporate that into the speech.
  • Craft a captivating opening : Begin the speech with a compelling opening that grabs the audience's attention. This could be a relevant quote, an interesting fact, a personal anecdote, or a thought-provoking question.
  • Organize content logically : Ensure the speech flows logically, with each point building on the previous one. Use transitions to guide the audience from one idea to the next smoothly.
  • Incorporate engaging stories and examples : Include anecdotes, stories, and real-life examples that illustrate key points and make the speech relatable and memorable.
  • Edit and revise : Edit the speech carefully for clarity, grammar, and coherence. Ensure the speech is the right length and aligns with the speaker's time constraints.
  • Seek feedback : Share drafts of the speech with the speaker for their feedback and revisions. They may have specific changes or additions they'd like to make.
  • Practice delivery : If possible, work with the speaker on their delivery. Practice the speech together, allowing the speaker to become familiar with the content and your writing style.
  • Maintain confidentiality : As a ghostwriter, it's essential to respect the confidentiality and anonymity of the work. Do not disclose that you wrote the speech unless you have the speaker's permission to do so.
  • Be flexible : Be open to making changes and revisions as per the speaker's preferences. Your goal is to make them look good and effectively convey their message.
  • Meet deadlines : Stick to agreed-upon deadlines for drafts and revisions. Punctuality and reliability are essential in ghostwriting.
  • Provide support : Support the speaker during their preparation and rehearsal process. This can include helping with cue cards, speech notes, or any other materials they need.

Remember that successful ghostwriting is about capturing the essence of the speaker while delivering a well-structured and engaging speech. Collaboration, communication, and adaptability are key to achieving this.

Give your best speech yet

Learn how to make a speech that’ll hold an audience’s attention by structuring your thoughts and practicing frequently. Put the effort into writing and preparing your content, and aim to improve your breathing, eye contact , and body language as you practice. The more you work on your speech, the more confident you’ll become.

The energy you invest in writing an effective speech will help your audience remember and connect to every concept. Remember: some life-changing philosophies have come from good speeches, so give your words a chance to resonate with others. You might even change their thinking.

Speech about friendship [1, 2, 3, 4, 5 Minutes]

speech on Friend ship

2 Minutes Speech on Friendship

Ladies and gentlemen!

Greetings to all.

Today, I want to discuss friendship with you. Everyone should value and nurture their friendships since they are wonderful things. A good friend is someone you can always count on to stick by your side, who is there for you through good times and bad, who encourages and supports you.

However, friendship is a two-way street. Both parties must put out some effort and devotion. Being dependable, encouraging, and always there for your buddy when they need you will go a long way toward being a good friend in return.

Additionally, friendship is about enjoying one other’s company and having fun. Spending time with friends is one of life’s greatest pleasures, whether it be just hanging out and chatting or going on excursions and creating memories.

So let’s be careful to cherish and care for our friendships. We should never take them for granted because they are an important aspect of our lives. I’m grateful.

Quotes of some internationally famous personalities for Speech on Speech about friendship

  • “Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another, ‘What! You too? I thought I was the only one.'”
  • “A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.”
  • “Friendship is the only cement that will ever hold the world together.”
  • “A friend is someone who knows all about you and still loves you.”
  • “Friendship is the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person, having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words.”
  • “A friend is someone who makes it easy to believe in yourself.”
  • “True friendship comes when the silence between two people is comfortable.”
  • “A friend is someone who believes in you when you have ceased to believe in yourself.”
  • “Friendship is the golden thread that ties the heart of all the world.”

3 Minutes Speech on Friendship

I’d like to talk to you about friendship today. We all need to appreciate and develop our friendships because they are such an essential part of life.

A true friend is someone who stands by you no matter what, through both good and terrible times. You can confide in and trust them, and they’ll always be there to support and uplift you.

Having a friend is more than just having someone to hang out with or go on activities with. It is about developing a close relationship with someone in which you feel free to be who you are and are accepted for who you are.

The fact that friendship can fill our lives with so much joy and happiness is one of its best qualities. When we have close friends, we feel loved and supported, and this can give us the courage and fortitude to deal with any difficulties that may arise.

However, friendship is a two-way street. Being a good friend in return means being there for your friends, offering encouragement and support, and letting them know how much you value their friendship.

So let’s be sure to cherish and treasure the friendships we already have while also making an effort to forge new ones. Always keep in mind that having good friends is important because they are difficult to find.

I’m grateful.

5 Minutes Speech on Friendship

Our lives wouldn’t be the same without our friends. They are the ones we go to when we need assistance, direction, or someone to simply be there for us.

But what characteristics mark a true friend? In a friendship, honesty, loyalty, and reliability are all crucial traits. Someone you can confide in and trust with your secrets is a wonderful friend. They are also devoted, being by your side no matter what and not criticising you for your errors. Speaking openly and honestly with your friends enables a better connection and understanding, therefore honesty is also important in a friendship.

But the friendship is much more than just what we gain from it. It also depends on the effort we put forth. Being a good friend is being there for your friends, giving them support and motivation, and listening well. It involves practising selflessness and occasionally prioritising your friend’s needs over your own.

Both parties must put forth effort and devotion in a friendship. It’s about supporting one another even when it’s difficult. Being a source of joy and laughter as well as a shoulder to weep on is important.

In essence, love, trust, and support are the foundations of friendship. It’s about supporting one another in both good and difficult times. As a result, treasure your friendships and dedicate time to the important people in your life.

Friendship Speech in English for Students

August 7, 2021 by Sandeep

Speech on Friendship: Friends are the most valuable assets in a person’s life. Friendship is a bond between two individuals or a group of like-minded persons who love each other’s company. This bond can be thicker than blood relationships too. Living with friends can be a huge roller coaster ride, but having friends makes life worth living. Love , respect for each other, faith, and no give-and-take obligations are some of the essential elements in friendship.

Below we have provided friendship speech in English suitable for classes 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10. Students can deliver this emotional speech on friendship day occasion, where they can share highlights on the value and importance of friendship.

Speech on Friendship 500 Words in English

Good morning to one & all present here. I am here to express my views on friendship. I am extremely overwhelmed that I am allowed to speak on this friendship day occasion. Friendship is the most sacred & beautiful relationship on this earth. A friend is a gift that we all give to ourselves. It is one of the most important human relationships. It is all about love, care, trust, sharing & happiness.

A best friend is someone who is always there for you in your hard as well as happy times. Friends are those who scold us for our wrongs did & also do praise us when we do something great. They are part of all the ups & downs of our lives. They understand us to the fullest & show us the right path. They are the ones who make us comfortable in any situation, with whom we can share all our thoughts openly.

A friend is someone who never judges us & gives us the right pieces of advice. A friend is essential to understand life, as the influence of a friend is so high that it even changes the meaning of life for us. Friendship is a divine relationship that is beyond the definition of blood. It is priceless & cannot be compared with anything else in this world. So it is always very vital that you choose your friends wisely, as God has given us the right to choose a friend.

Choosing someone with good thoughts, positivity leads our life in that direction, but it often ruins life if we do not choose friends wisely. There should be love, care, understanding & sacrifice for each other. If there is ego, selfishness & jealousy, then it can never be termed as friendship. Krishna & Sudama from age-old is the best example of friendship, who were always there for each other in their difficult times.

Those persons are fortunate who come across a true friendship as it is tough to find today’s world. We all have friends but having a long-lasting friendship is very rare. Having a good friend is like a true blessing of God, who will be the person of your needs. The person who can turn your mood on & can make you happy in any circumstances. Friends are like chocolate chips in the cookie of life to whom we all need to preserve for a lifetime.

Happy Friendship Day!

Short Speech on Friendship 200 Words in English

Below we have provided a 2-minute short speech about friendship, suitable for classes 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. This persuasive speech on friendship is helpful for the school students who are participating in a speech writing competition.

Good morning to everyone present here. Today I am going to deliver my speech on friendship. The old saying, “ A friend in need is a friend indeed ,” goes a long way.

Friends are like the second family to all of us. Friends will always hold that unique position in our lives, with someone we are most comfortable. They are the ones who are always there for us in our bad times, who always stand to support us. Friends are like those angels with whom we can share all our thoughts. They are the ones who understand us to the best.

It is tough to come across a true friendship. However, it is my pleasure to tell all of you that my best friend is the one who is always there for me in my needs. He always motivates me & keeps me positive. He sometimes scolds me when I am not on the right track, which never annoys me as I know he always thinks about my happiness.

He is the one who made me understood the importance of discipline & punctuality. He is always eager to help me with my academics. We love & care for each other a lot. I am thankful to God for giving me such a good friend in my life. I will preserve this friendship for my whole life. I wish him a happy & prosperous life ahead. I hope you all have such a friend who will be your best acquaintances. I want to end my speech with this beautiful quote by Eleanor Roosevelt.

“Many people will walk in & out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart.”

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden delivered a solemn Oval Office address Wednesday that laid out in the clearest terms yet why he abandoned his reelection campaign.

He wanted to send an unmistakable warning about Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump while anointing Vice President Kamala Harris as his natural successor, without invoking an overtly political tone that would have been out of step in the official setting of the White House. He was determined to show that he would not act like a lame-duck president, outlining an ambitious agenda that underscored his resolve to continue building on his legacy.

Here are key takeaways from Biden’s address:

He warned about Trump — without naming him

Biden did not mention Trump, his former Republican opponent , in his 10-minute Oval Office address — but he didn’t have to. The remarks were imbued with a deep sense of urgency about what the outgoing president saw as the stakes of the election.

The early part of his address sketched the choices that faces voters in November — a contrast Biden himself had hoped to make during a reelection campaign that he ultimately decided he could not continue.

“Americans are going to have to choose between moving forward or backward, between hope and hate, between unity and division,” Biden said. “We have to decide — do we still believe in honesty, decency, respect, freedom, justice and democracy.”

That last item — democracy — and defending it is “more important than any title,” Biden said.

Biden outlined a hefty to-do list for his final months

The president says he’s going to keep working over his final six months in office. He’s seeking to make the case for his legacy of sweeping domestic legislation and the renewal of alliances abroad.

His to-do list was full of weighty issues. He said he’d work to end the war in Gaza, bring home the hostages and try “to bring peace and security to the Middle East and end this war.” Biden meets Thursday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu .

He’s going to continue to work to lower costs for families and defend personal freedoms, keep calling out “hate and extremism” and push to end gun violence.

He also said he would continue to work on his initiative to end cancer as we know it and push for Supreme Court reforms .

“I’m going to keep working,” he said.

He is willingly handing off power to a new generation

Biden finally understood what Democrats had been telling him — that it was time to hand off power to a younger generation — and he embraced it, calling for “fresh voices, yes, younger voices” in politics.

What to know about the 2024 Election

“I’ve decided the best way forward is to pass the torch to a new generation. It’s the best way to unite our nation,” he said, even as he believed his presidency was deserving of a second term.

For months, Biden insisted that only he could go up against Trump and win. But that changed following his debate with Trump on June 27, when he spoke haltingly, lost his train of thought and failed to fact-check the former president’s falsehoods. The performance raised a chorus of questions about his age and ability to do the job another four years and pushed Democrats to increasingly call for him to step aside. The standoff dragged for 24 days before Biden yielded, saying he needed to unify his party.

The tone and setting were solemn

Biden is not a stranger to the sober address, delivering remarks on weighty matters such as the fate of democracy and voting rights at historically significant landmarks across the country and around the globe.

But Biden has used the formal trappings of an Oval Office address — a tool used by presidents in times of national crisis or to capture a key moment in history — sparsely, with Wednesday’s speech marking just the fourth time that he has sat behind the Resolute Desk to speak directly to the nation.

His tone was solemn, the delivery careful and deliberate. He was surrounded by family and close aides as he gave an address willingly relinquishing power — one that no politician wants to make.

“The great thing about America is here, kings and dictators do not rule — that people do,” Biden said as he closed his address. “History is in your hands. The power is in your hands. The idea of America lies in your hands.”

Biden made a subtle push for his vice president

In the official setting of the Oval Office, Biden steered clear of overt political talk. But he still praised Vice President Kamala Harris as “tough” and “capable,” and gave a not-so-subtle push to voters.

“She’s been an incredible partner for her leadership, for our country,” he said. “Now the choice is up to you, the American people. ”

First lady Jill Biden posted a hand-written note after the president’s speech thanking “those who never wavered, who refused to doubt.” She thanked supporters for putting their trust in the president. “Now it’s time to put that trust in Kamala.”

Biden, aides say, knows that if Harris loses, he’ll be criticized for staying in the race too long and not giving her or another Democrat time to effectively mount a campaign against Trump. If she wins, she’ll ensure his policy victories are secured and expanded, and he’ll be remembered for a decision to step aside for the next generation of leadership.

Netanyahu calls out Democratic critics and protesters in speech to Congress, lays out Hamas threats

a good speech on friends

WASHINGTON – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed a joint meeting of Congress as his nation continues to battle Hamas in Gaza, laying out the ongoing threats in the region and criticizing his Democratic critics in Washington and pro-Palestinian protesters across the U.S.

The Israeli leader told Americans lawmakers "My friends, I came to assure you today of one thing: We will win." But he added that, in the face of ongoing clashes with Hamas and conflict with Iran and Iranian-backed groups, "For the forces of civilization to triumph, America and Israel must stand together"

Netanyahu also hit back at his Democratic critics in Congress and at protests that have broken out across the country over Israel's handling of the conflict. He had especially harsh words for demonstrators, calling some of them "Iran's useful idiots" and accusing them of standing "with evil." He also made one of his most divisive remarks when he said those who support pro-Palestinian protestors "should be ashamed of themselves."

The vast majority of Democrats held back any applause in response and notably, the top three House Democrats, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., House Minority Whip Katherine Clark, D-Mass. and House Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar, D-Calif., stayed seated.

Netanyahu heaped praise on President Joe Biden for continuing to support Israel and thanked him for U.S. support in shooting down an Iranian drone attack earlier this year. At the same time though, he made remarks clearly aimed at the Biden administration for some of its policy towards Israel, including the withholding of heavy bombs: "Give us the tools faster and we'll finish the job faster."

Netanyahu's overall welcome in the halls of Congress may not have been as warm as he might have liked either . Scores of Democratic lawmakers skipped his address in protest of Netanyahu’s leadership in the war , which has left almost 40,000 residents of Gaza. And the Democrats who didn't attend Netanyahu's address stretched beyond the progressive lawmakers who have been the Israeli leader's most vocal critics in Congress.

The mood was tense. Netanyahu entered the chamber to roaring applause from Republicans but was met with hardly any enthusiasm from Democrats. As he stepped down the aisle shaking hands with lawmakers, he walked by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., who has called for new elections to replace Netanyahu. Schumer is the highest ranking Jewish elected official in the U.S.

A number of guests to Netanyahu's speech wore bright yellow shirts under jackets that read "Seal the deal NOW" in reference to a cease-fire deal in Gaza that would see Israeli hostages released. Periodically throughout the speech, they stood up to reveal their shirts until they were removed from the chamber and arrested.

The Israel-Hamas War began last October, when Hamas militants killed more than 1,000 Israelis and captured around 250 hostages. Israel retaliated with a bombing campaign that has  bombarded cities , forced more than 85% of the population in Gaza to be displaced and caused starvation among hundreds of thousands of civilians.

And as Netanyahu spoke, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., the only Palestinian American in Congress and one of Israel's most vocal critics, held up a sign during standing ovations that read "WAR CRIMINAL" on one side and "GUILTY OF GENOCIDE" on the other. Rep. Jake Auchincloss, D-Mass., who was seated next to Tlaib, moved away from her when she started to display the signs.

At one point, conservative hardliner, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., moved to sit next to Tlaib and had a whispered conversation with her. Luna declined to say what the two spoke about but described their conversation as cordial and expressed appreciation for Tlaib for putting down the sign during Netanyahu's remarks.

Ohio Democrat Rep. Greg Landsman told USA TODAY he "went over to deescalate if need be" but "they were talking through their issues calmly, so I went and sat back down."

Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, told USA TODAY that he thought much of the speech was “mindless war sloganeering” and “clear pro-Trump messaging.”

“It was surprising, but still incredibly sad," Murphy added. "That was a big setback for the U.S.-Israel relationship.”

Still, several Democrats on Wednesday appreciated the Israeli leader's remarks. Rep. Brad Schneider, D-Ill., a Jewish lawmaker, described Netanyahu's remarks as a "good speech."

"Did I agree with everything he said? No. But no one who has spoken on this floor have I agreed with everything they said," Schneider said, adding he would have liked to hear Netanyahu speak more to a future that provides "security for Israel, security for the Palestinians and ultimately, peace and security in the region."

Even for the Democrats who were in attendance, many quickly exited the chamber as soon as Netanyahu concluded his speech.

Several prominent Democrats announced ahead of the speech that they wouldn't be in attendance. While the chamber appeared to be full during his address, several GOP lawmakers were scattered throughout the Democratic side of the aisle. Roughly half of all congressional Democrats were not in attendance.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., instead met with Israeli citizens whose families were victims of Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack.

Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin, D-Ill., the No. 2 ranking Senate Democrat, called Israel’s conduct in Gaza a “brutal strategy beyond any acceptable level of self-defense.”

Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., Senate President Pro Tempore, skipped the speech and handed off the job of presiding over the event to Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chair Sen. Ben Cardin, D-Md.

“I hope Prime Minister Netanyahu will use the opportunity to address how he plans to secure a ceasefire—and lasting peace in the region,” Murray said in a statement to USA TODAY.

There were some surprising attendees at the speech beyond lawmakers and other honored guests, such as Tesla CEO Elon Musk. He attended as a guest of the Israeli leader.

Highlighting the sensitivity of Netanyahu’s address, House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., sent a letter to lawmakers warning there will be a “zero-tolerance policy” for any disturbances during the speech. If any of their guests interrupt the proceedings, the letter says they will be removed from the House chamber and “subject to arrest.”

The chairs of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Intelligence Committee and Armed Services Committee, all Democrats, sent their own letter to Biden ahead of the speech urging the president and negotiators to quickly secure a ceasefire deal that would end the war and release the hostages.

“We are under no illusion that this will be easy and we fully understand that diplomacy requires compromise,” Cardin, Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., and Sen. Jack Reed, D-R.I., wrote.

“But the pre-October 7 status quo is not sustainable. In order for the region to chart a new path forward, one that chooses cooperation and partnership over endless conflict, hope must follow the darkness of October 7 and recent months,” the letter read.

Friendship Day Speech

There are days set aside in several countries to celebrate friendship. The early advertising of Friendship Day came from the greeting card industry, but social networking sites have shown a resurgence in interest, particularly in India, Bangladesh, and Malaysia. The practice has become increasingly widespread thanks in part to social media, mobile devices, and electronic communication. Those who support the holiday in South Asia claim that the tradition of setting aside a day to honour friends originated in the United States in 1935.

10 Lines Speech on Friendship Day

Short speech on friendship day, long speech on friendship day.

Friendship Day Speech

Friendship is the connection that develops between people who may share similar ideas or views.

You may confide in and share your most delicate emotions with a reliable buddy. As a friendship deepens through time, it develops into a partnership.

Everyone in a close friendship actively follows the road of justice and strives to make their community's residents' lives better.

One characteristic that distinguishes exceptional friendships is the capacity for sacrifice. Genuine friends are always willing to sacrifice anything for their buddies.

Another benefit of friendship is the ability to comfort and uplift one's friends during difficult times.

A continual feeling of obligation and devotion characterises true friendships.

A good friend is always willing to make a sacrifice for his friends.

A further advantage of friendship is the capacity to support and help friends in difficult circumstances.

Accountability and respect are always characteristics of a real friendship.

A selfless friendship is exemplified by the relationship between Lord Krishna and Sudama.

Man is gregarious by nature, thus he enjoys making friends with others with whom he can share thoughts, beliefs, and even good times.

Friendship is a wonderful connection. It has genuine significance since having a strong friendship group makes life more bearable and worthwhile. Friendship is an intangible quality that gets stronger the longer you devote to it. A person will remember the excellent times and memories he spent with friends for the rest of his life.

A friend in need is a friend indeed, as the adage goes, and everyone needs friends through their pleasures and sorrows.

An old saying goes that a man is judged by the company he maintains. Therefore, it's crucial to pick your friends wisely. Every year on July 30, a number of nations observe Friendship Day to honour this incredible bond. However, some nations observe it on the first Sunday in August, such as India.

God allows us to choose the companions we desire because they will always be at our side. Our parents and siblings love us as we are blood relatives. A friend, on the other hand, was once a stranger. They then come first in our life over all other connections. Nothing more than genuine, pure affection that is freely offered may be said to constitute friendship.

Role of a Friend

When things are most difficult for one another, true friends support one another. On the other hand, a true friend regrets our mistakes and rejoices in our victories. Even constructive criticism from a true friend might help us improve.

He might guide us and correct us if we make a mistake. Therefore, it is considered that a true friend is more valuable than any diamond we may ever own. There is someone who will always adore you without conditions. They might just have their unwavering love for us as their standards for us.

A Divine Relationship

True friends assist one another at their most challenging times. A real friend, on the other hand, regrets our errors and celebrates our successes. Even helpful criticism from a genuine friend might help us advance.

If we make a mistake, he could correct us and provide advice. As a result, it is believed that a genuine friend is worth more than any diamond we may ever possess. There is someone who will always adore you without conditions. It's possible that their only criteria for us are their unfailing love and devotion.

Because of friendship, we will have a lot of enjoyable life events that we may later look back on with nostalgia. However, there could be occasions when this partnership goes through difficult circumstances together. This excellent bond might be damaged by an unanticipated misunderstanding.

Be the first to try and to keep your friendship. God forbid, if there ever comes a moment when distance develops in this connection, we must not let our friend depart. Hold their hand and express regret for any error. Losing a true friend is one of life's most painful experiences for everyone.

A good friendship is really hard to find, I'd like to add in the conclusion. Therefore, we should be grateful for this heavenly relationship that is based on knowledge and emotion. To live happily, we need friends. Everybody benefits when a friendship lasts a lifetime.

We don't have to put on a different character while we are among our friends. They absolutely free us to be our true selves. Never fail to thank those who provide us delight. A devoted friend is one of the most precious possessions in anyone's life.

Kamala Harris' media strategy right out the gate is young, fun, and unburdened by what has been

  • Kamala Harris has hit the ground running, working hard to shake off Biden's social media strategy.
  • Her revamped socials, featuring memes and celebrity endorsements, appear targeted at Gen Z.
  • Experts say the switch up makes sense and could give Harris a boost.

Insider Today

Memes and celebrity endorsements have already set the tone for Kamala Harris' presidential campaign.

After weeks of top Democrats pressuring President Joe Biden to quit the race, he finally buckled, endorsing his younger vice president for the top ticket instead.

And she's already gotten to work shaking off Biden's old style from her campaign with revamped social media accounts that lean into the memes around her.

After Biden's TikTok account changed its title to Kamala HQ following Harris' endorsement, its first post was a screenshot of Charli XCX's post saying: "Kamala IS brat."

Kamala HQ used Charli's latest song, "365," as background music for the post.

And just a few hours after Biden's announcement, the Kamala HQ X account debuted its first meme. The meme directly pokes fun at a right-wing line of attack on Harris, which has used a video of her waxing lyrical about the virtues of Venn diagrams as commentary on her competence for high office.

Kamala HQ instead posted a Venn diagram, with the two outer circles, "Biden HQ" and "Kamala HQ" merging to form "holding Trump accountable."

pic.twitter.com/eddaAKJ8s6 — Kamala HQ (@KamalaHQ) July 22, 2024

Even the banner image for Kamala HQ's X account has Gen Z written all over it — a neon green background with a blurry lowercase "kamala hq" in the center.

Her campaign is also capitalizing on memes created about her.

Her bio, "Providing context," references the  coconut tree memes  that erupted on social media after Harris said in a speech in May, "You think you just fell out of a coconut tree? You exist in the context."

Related stories

Even her party has gotten the meme memo, with many Democrats using coconut tree emojis in their endorsement posts for her.

In his endorsement post on Sunday, Hawaii Sen. Brian Schatz posted a picture of himself climbing a coconut tree with the caption "Madam Vice President, we are ready to help."

And Colorado Gov. Jared Polis signed off his endorsement post with coconut emojis.

Across the social media landscape, the energy is palpable, said David Karpf, a professor of media and public affairs at George Washington University.

"There is a wave of grassroots enthusiasm that feels like Obama 2008, but with the social media of 2024," Karpf told Business Insider. "When you've got a good social media team that has arrived at a cultural moment and pent-up enthusiasm, they get to play with it."

It's also, importantly, organic.

The memes around Harris taking over the ticket weren't spawned by her campaign, giving them an air of authenticity.

There's a reason for the memes

Communications experts say that Harris' team is trying to craft a personable image for her to boost her visibility and her likeability with voters.

"The content that performs the best is either entertaining or personal," Karen North , clinical professor of communication at USC Annenberg, said. "People want to feel a personal connection, and social media gives elected officials and other influencers or celebrities the opportunity to connect with their audiences very, very directly and 24 hours a day."

While Harris' team is focusing on younger voters and voters of color, the appeal of social media transcends age, North said.

"The real change with social media is that for the first time ever, we really feel as if we have a personal relationship with people — even when we don't — in the same way that our friends text us or send us funny videos or memes or connects with us on our phones," she said.

Dr. Marcus Collins — an ad executive, author, and marketing professor at the University of Michigan — noted that people of color and the communities they're a part of have enthusiastically mobilized around Harris on social media, as they did when she was first selected as Biden's VP.

This includes key groups like HBCUs, Black Greek letter organizations, Black women, and the hip-hop community.

"They're barometers of what's acceptable for people like us," he said.

Karpf noted the memes are Gen Z's way of including Harris in the "cultural constellation," and said highlighting endorsements from celebrities like Charlie XCX is smart, given that much of the public doesn't want to engage in politics.

"When you are bringing political actors into their world and those political actors are seeming cool, that's a win."

Harris' position is also unique because she's the only other female candidate — after Hillary Clinton — to be up against Trump.

"Hillary Clinton struggled with promoting a likable image to the public, and that was just a blink of an eye ago in Democratic political history," North said. "Right now, it's very obvious that Harris' team will be looking at likability and trying to bolster her likability because they know that was a difficult hurdle for a previous female presidential candidate, up against the same political adversary."

Phoenix Andrews, a research fellow at the University of Aberdeen and the author of a book on political fandoms, "I Heart Politics," told BI that Harris' "ironic fandom" — those who say they are "coconut-pilled" —has persisted into "genuine warmth."

He said, "She has reliability as well as goofiness that makes it work, despite her being way to the right of the Squad. And honestly, people need something positive and fun to rally behind, or it all seems too impossibly dark and nihilistic."

Up until July, Trump had dominated the meme war. His TikTok account had wracked up over 9 million followers, easily lapping what Biden's HQ had pulled in.

Trump also appeared on Logan Paul's podcast and had UFC president Dana White's backing too. The campaign had targeted young voters as an area of weakness for Biden, according to reporting in The Atlantic .

But the surge around Harris may be a foil the campaign isn't ready for.

On Sunday night, Trump's campaign posted on X with a link to Harris' account rebrand, mocking a memed line from one of her speeches: "This account is living unburdened by what has been."

Harris' campaign laughed it off, reposting another user who was freaking out.

"Drop the usage of that phrase now," that user had warned Team Trump. "They're going to spin that into marketing for her campaign. They've been creating TikTok videos of her saying that over Charli xcx songs and Gen Z loves it." Correction: July 22, 2024 — An earlier version of this story misstated the title of the Charli XCX song. It is "365," not "Brat."

JD Vance Hits Back at Jennifer Aniston, Defending ‘Childless Cat Ladies’ Remarks

Senator JD Vance of Ohio, the Republican vice-presidential candidate, struck back at the “Friends” actress Jennifer Aniston after she criticized him for his past complaint that the nation was governed by “childless cat ladies,” including Vice President Kamala Harris.

Mr. Vance, appearing on “The Megyn Kelly Show” on SiriusXM on Friday, bristled at the bipartisan backlash to his comments, which were made to Fox News in 2021 but have received fresh attention as he hits the campaign trail as former President Donald J. Trump’s newly minted running mate.

He was responding to an Instagram post on Wednesday by Ms. Aniston that condemned his comments. In the post, which drew widespread attention, the actress, who has been open about her fertility struggles , wrote, “Mr. Vance, I pray that your daughter is fortunate enough to bear children of her own one day.”

Mr. Vance, whom Mr. Trump selected as his running mate nearly two weeks ago, said that bringing up his daughter was out of bounds.

“Hollywood celebrities say, ‘Oh, well, JD Vance, what if your daughter suffered fertility problems?’” Mr. Vance said. “Well, first of all, that’s disgusting because my daughter is 2 years old. And second of all, if she had fertility problems, as I said in that speech, I would try everything I could to try to help her because I believe families and babies are a good thing.”

Ms. Harris, who is now the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee after President Biden dropped out of the race six days ago, has a stepson and a stepdaughter.

In a clip from the resurfaced July 2021 interview with Tucker Carlson, who was then a Fox News host, Mr. Vance groused that the country was run by Democrats and corporate oligarchs who were “childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives.” At the time, he was running for the Senate and pointed to several Democrats who he said did not have children, including Ms. Harris, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York and Pete Buttigieg, the U.S. transportation secretary. Mr. Buttigieg and his husband, Chasten Buttigieg, welcomed twins about a month after Mr. Vance’s comments.

“The entire future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children,” Mr. Vance said. “And how does it make any sense that we’ve turned our country over to people who don’t really have a direct stake in it?”

Mr. Vance contended on Friday that the “cat ladies” comment was taken out of context and that he was not criticizing women who don’t have children. He said that he was trying to argue that Democrats were “anti-family.”
