Now a days with the increasing levels of technology, the efforts being put to produce any kind of work has been continuously decreasing. The efforts required in achieving the desired output can be effectively and economically be decreased by the implementation of better designs. These Power screws are used to converting rotary motion into translatory motion. A screw jack is an example of a power screw in which a small force applied in a horizontal plane is used to raise or lower a large load. The principle on which it works is similar to that of an inclined plane. The mechanical advantage of a screw jack is the ratio of the load applied to the effort applied. The screw jack is operated by turning a lead screw. The height of the jack is adjusted by moving a lead screw and this adjustment can be done either manually or by integrating an electric motor. In present days the two wheeler mechanic are not using lifting platform due to its heavy cost and their maintenance. Because of continuously bending of mechanic body during the repair and maintenance of two wheeler there are many health related problems are arising, also more stress and efforts are required. Limiting Deflection in Scissor Lift: Selecting lift with design capacity greater than required for the application; most scissor lift design for duty at higher capacities will experience less stress in all structural components as well as lower system pressures, at lower, working capacities. Reduced stresses and pressure always result in reduced deflection. Avoid transfer of load within the first 20% of lift travel: To minimize stress and deflection, at transfer elevations, it is critical to design the conveyor or transfer system to ensure that these elevations are above the scissor lift's " critical zone " of the first 20%of the lift available travel. Transfer load over fixed end of the lift platform: First if possible, load should not be transfer over the sides of a raised scissor lift is much more difficult to control deflection when the load is not shared equally between the two scissor legs pairs. Available Scissor Lift: 1) Hydraulic lifting platform. 2) Electric lifting platform.

- A hydraulic pallet lift is a mechanical device used for various applications for lifting of the loads to a height or level. A lift table is defined as a scissor lift used to stack, raise or lower, convey and/or transfer material between two or more elevations. The main objective of the devices used for lifting purposes is to make the table adjustable to a desired height. A scissor lift provides most economic dependable & versatile methods of lifting loads; it has few moving parts which may only require lubrication. This lift table raises load smoothly to any desired height. The scissor lift can be used in combination with any of applications such as pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, etc. Lift tables may incorporate rotating platforms (manual or powered); tilt platforms, etc, as a part of the design. Scissor lift design is used because of its ergonomics as compared to other heavy lifting devices available in the market. The frame is very sturdy & strong enough with increase in structural integrity. A multiple height scissor lift is made up of two or more leg sets. As per the discussion with the concern person of DS Engineering, Pune, It is found that they are facing some problems regarding hydraulic scissor lift like job to be lifted are heavier which causes more deformations in hydraulic lift frame checking deformations & stresses induced in it is a major objective of this project. It is also found that weight of the present lift is high weight optimization is also prime objective of this project. As loading & unloading is repeated there may be chances of fatigue failure, to check the life of lift. Design & Analysis of the Hydraulic lift that should with stand maximum load without failure in working conditions. To check vibration of hydraulic lift during working time by modal analysis

Lift is a simple mechanical device used to raise element or object from ground level to a certain height to perform a specific work with maximum load and minimum efforts. This project describes the design as well as analysis of a mechanical scissor lift which works on the principle of screw jack. The design will be developed keeping in mind that the lift can be operated by mechanical means so that the overall cost of the scissor lift is reduced. Also such design can make the lift more compact and much suitable for medium scale work. Conventionally a scissor lift or jack is used for lifting a vehicle to change a tire, to gain access to go to the underside of the vehicle, to lift the body to appreciable height, and many other applications. But in this case along with lifting a vehicle we are also going to make an effort to move the vehicle to a short distance by incorporating roller mechanism. Finally, the analysis will be carried out in order to check the compatibility of the design values.

The foremost aim of our project is to design and fabricate a hydraulic operated ladder for the purpose of material handling at required height at faster rate. As a ladder is a vertical or inclined set of rungs or steps where in hydraulic ladder, the hydraulic cylinder is used to lift the platform at a certain height. The construction of hydraulic ladder is same as like a scissor in which, when a hydraulic cylinder pull one of the link of ladder it will lift the platform to a certain height with weight lifting capacity of about 100 to 200 kg. This hydraulic ladder is having more features like accident precaution equipments, rolling wheels and possibly the remote control automated moving mechanism. We expect this new approach to dramatically reduce the cost of hydraulic ladder without any loss of quality, and hence make mass production viable.

  1. PDF Design and Analysis of Scissor Jack

A scissor jack is operated simply by turning a small crank that is inserted into one end of the scissor jack. This crank is usually "Z" shaped. The end fits into a ring hole mounted on the end of the screw, which is the object of force on the scissor jack. When this crank is turned, the screw turns, and this raises the jack. The
