(Burn The Stage Ep.4)
In a Vlive, Jung Kook has stated that he's been studying English very hard; learning and memorizing vocabulary words and how to use them in sentences. His main goal in studying English is to become fluent enough to be able to help RM in future English interviews so he doesn't have to do all the talking. He hopes to become fluent in a year's time if he's consistent. He's slowly accomplishing this feat, as he has mentioned that the group had an interview earlier before appearing on SNL. Even as he breaks new ground as an artist, Jung Kook is taking a moment to reflect on his rise. The BTS member has announced the career-spanning solo documentary Jung Kook: I Am Still, opening in theaters in more than 120 countries and regions beginning Sept. 18.
I Am Still was directed by Junsoo Park and produced by Jiwon Yoon. According to a synopsis for the release, the film will center around exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes footage with additional elements captured during Jung Kook’s live performances. “I just follow my own compass,” a quote from the musician reads.
The documentary spans the eight months that Jung Kook spent crafting his debut solo single, “ Seven ,” which features Latto. His first album, Golden , which also includes “3D” with Jack Harlow and “Standing Next to You,” arrived in November 2023.

BTS’s Jung Kook on his hobbies, artistic achievements and growing up in the limelight
By Narang Kim
23 December 2021
From debuting at the tender age of 15 to now being a part of the world's biggest boy band, BTS's Jung Kook has spent a large portion of his life in the public eye. During the cover shoot of Vogue Singapore's 'Grace' issue, the 'Golden Maknae' talks about his goals, his current pursuits and what we can expect from him next
Those who work in the public eye come under a lot of different influences, making it hard for them to formulate their own world views. The same is true of those who have had to mould themselves from a young age to achieve a certain goal. But Jung Kook is different. His pursuits outside BTS suggest that he has very clear ideas about what he wants to do and show that he can seal himself off from outside influences. This is one of the things we like about Jung Kook.
How has he managed to foster his own ideas? Jung Kook, who listens attentively while making eye contact, replies: “I don’t have clear answers like, ‘This is how I’ll live!’ But what’s clear is that I want to decide for myself how to live my life. Perhaps there will be an afterlife, but who knows? This is the only life I’ve got, and it’s short. I’d never do something that everybody agrees is wrong, but where various ways are acceptable, I want to live on my own terms. I settled on this fairly early on.” Curious about Jung Kook’s thoughts on life’s fleeting nature, I respond: “They say that life is short, but art is eternal . What is eternal to you?” Jung Kook says: “Let’s assume that what I do is art. Would this be the most important thing? Isn’t life itself more important? The time I’ve lived is distilled in me. So, life is finite but also eternal.”
Jung Kook is preoccupied with all sorts of art, not just music . Some fans want Jung Kook, the ‘Golden Maknae’ (or ‘youngest of the family’) of BTS, to showcase his talents in other areas more, such as painting, photography and video editing. Jung Kook humbly says: “These are just some of my other interests, and I don’t feel the need to develop all of them.” But multitalented individuals must surely hear an inner voice urging them to make use of such talents. It must be difficult to ignore the desire to express oneself in various ways besides music.
“I have realistic as well as idealistic goals,” says Jung Kook. “I used to be greedy and did what I wanted to do without giving it much thought. But the way one thinks changes over time, as does life in general, and relationships, too. These days, I’m more realistic. What I need to do is more important than what I want to do.” On top of this, Jung Kook doesn’t like to reveal his creations until he is fully satisfied with them. “They’ll never be perfect, but they at least have to be at a level I’m happy with,” he tells me. “I’ll work hard, and one day I’ll be able to unveil them to the public. Right now, I don’t have the mental energy to spend on improving them.”
“There are lots of things I still want to do. I want to continue expanding as an artist and achieve even greater things”
Over the past couple of years, it has not been easy for Jung Kook to work—even on his hobbies, like painting and photography. “If the stage set is the same every time one performs, there’ll be less excitement for the performing artist and the spectator alike,” he says. “I need to keep seeking change and challenge myself. The same goes for photography and painting. I carried a camera with me when we worked, but we couldn’t move around much due to COVID-19, so the photos all looked pretty similar. And going on risky trips that weren’t really necessary wasn’t an option.” Instead, Jung Kook found joy in books, portals into other worlds. He is making an effort to read more books in his spare time in order to become better at writing lyrics. His current fascination with writing lyrics links up with his other artistic pursuits. “My lyrics reflect my speech and individuality,” he explains. “This is another area where I can express myself.”
Hopefully, Jung Kook will soon be enjoying a change of scenery. He was thrilled by the chance to visit the UN General Assembly to sing ‘Permission to Dance’ in September 2021. “Every time we prepare an album and record a performance on stage, I have the same mindset,” he says. “But there was something extra when we filmed a video with dancers on the lawn in front of the UN General Assembly. Having fun dancing and singing together outdoors made me feel that better days were on the way. I felt that the day was drawing near when we’d be able to meet ARMY up close, or the day when I could go out alone at dawn and enjoy tasty snacks.” I ask whether it is even possible for a superstar to go to a late-night restaurant alone, but Jung Kook smiles and says: “There’s always a way.”
BTS has changed Jung Kook’s life dramatically. In 2014, BTS went out on the street in Los Angeles and invited random passers-by to attend their free concert. This was being filmed as part of a TV show, but they worked hard to promote their group by handing out flyers. Since then, BTS have skyrocketed. In 2021, tickets for their concert at SoFi Stadium, near Los Angeles, sold out in minutes. Comparing then to now, Jung Kook is tongue-tied. “I always wonder why people love and adore us,” he admits. “I’ve thought a lot about how I arrived at this point. Firstly, I was lucky to have talented team members! Secondly, we have a CEO who really loves music. Apart from that, perhaps the synergy of BTS’s songs, lyrics, messages, performances and public appearances attracted more and more fans? Lately, it’s become even more difficult for me to wrap my mind around the situation. I guess it’s because I’m unable to meet the audience members in person. I need to work harder to prove that I’m worth their support.”
Jung Kook is also very mindful of BTS’s positive influence. “As I get older, I feel more pressure,” he confesses. “I’m not particularly great; and I’m not that good and virtuous. I’m a very ordinary person, and I’m often scolded by the other members for my immature behaviour. If the world sees us as having a positive influence, then I need to try to adjust and match my actions and thoughts to those values.”
ARMY has been putting BTS’s positive messages into action. Their environmental projects, like saving rainforests and whales, and their fundraising for vulnerable groups such as refugees and LGBTQ people have been astonishing in terms of their scope and speed. ARMY seems to have become a global cultural movement that goes beyond the fandom. Jung Kook is amazed and intrigued by ARMY. “I’m just someone who loves to sing and dance, but ARMY is achieving greater things for us,” he says. “I can’t thank them enough for their support for us, but they’re also doing such wonderful things. I’m deeply moved by ARMY, which started as a group of BTS supporters but has evolved into a real force for good. I’m inspired by them.” Jung Kook wanted to find a way to repay ARMY , the group’s proud flagbearers, but found himself at a loss. “It seemed there was nothing special I could do,” he says. “I’ve come to the conclusion that being good at my job, as I’ve been doing, is what I can do for ARMY.”
“If the world sees us as having a positive influence, then I need to try to adjust and match my actions and thoughts to those values”
Jung Kook has approached his work with excitement rather than apprehension. It’s not that he’s been free of anxiety because each album was a success or because he is loved by the fans, but because he has believed in himself and his group mates. “We did our best with every album and on every stage,” Jung Kook says. “Nobody can be perfect, but I’ve been able to enjoy it because I do everything that’s required of me. That’s why I can accept an occasional poor result.”
This seems to be Jung Kook’s attitude toward life. “I understand that hard work and the outcome are two separate things,” he explains. “I’ve learnt how to accept the result. Of course, having the ambition to improve myself is another matter.” As Jung Kook debuted at age 15, he must surely have matured more than any other BTS member. On the other hand, they tell him: “It’s great that you haven’t changed at all.” What about him has changed the most and how has he remained the same over the past decade? “I was warm-hearted and trusting as a child, and I still am,” he admits. “Until they break my heart, I give my all to those I love. My group mates all acknowledge this. Sometimes, I worry about what’s going to happen, but I’m lucky enough to have my group mates beside me, which is reassuring. But if I depended on them too much, it would be like hiding behind them, so I need to be able to stand on my own.” Except for this, he adds, everything from the way he speaks to the way he thinks has changed. I believe that another thing that remains the same is his energy. Jung Kook shows no signs of tiring during the photo shoot for Vogue, which proceeds at a fast pace and without a break. He raises the energy of the set, moving with the rhythm of the background music and approaching group mates to massage their shoulders or straighten their clothes.
As Jung Kook puts it, after an incredible 10 years, what will the next 10 be like? ‘Permission to Dance’ contains the words, “We don’t need to worry. ’Cause when we fall, we know how to land.” I ask Jung Kook if he has thought much about how to land. “Obviously, many people are more successful than me, and as I get older and time goes by, my career is bound to taper off,” he reflects. “But I don’t think about landing. There are lots of things I still want to do. I want to continue expanding as an artist and achieve even greater things.”

• In 2020, Jungkook visited the neighborhood of Itaewon in Seoul along with his K-pop idol friends, SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu, NCT’s Jaehyun, and ASTRO’s Cha Eun-woo, whenn Itaewan was seeing a spike in COVID-19 cases. Reportedly, the four friends hung out at a restaurant and two bars in that neighbour of Itaewon where a COVID-19 positive patient visited clubs. Later, the respective agencies of the idols released apology statements and also sharing that all four idols had tested negative for COVID-19.
• On 1 October 2021, Fair Trade Commission (FTC) filed a complaint case against Jungkook for allegedly doing 'under-the-table' promotion for his brother's clothing brand, Six6uys. On 27 October 2021, FTC revealed that he did not violate the guidelines for labeling and advertising.
• In 2023, after he released his single track 'Seven,' the song faced plagiarism chages for having musical scales and other key componests similar to the 1999 song 'Time of Mask' by the South Korean girl group Fin.K.L; however, Jungkook and his agency, Big Hit Music, denied all the allegation by saying the copyright claim regarding the song 'Seven' is not true.

Our first practice room was in the basement, and now there was a restaurant on the ground floor, and the aunt there took very good care of us. She sometimes grilled us meat, and at that time, we didn’t get much pocket money anymore, so we only had one or three cups of ramen a day. I was so scared when I first came up to Seoul. I missed my parents and I cried. I was the youngest. I had to wait for the others to fall asleep before I could shower. I used the top bunk and I had to be really careful not to make noise. I think that all the difficulties and scoldings that I went through made me who I am today. That’s why I’m grateful to the other members. ” [58] Hindustan Times jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_559783_1_58').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_559783_1_58', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top right', relative: true, offset: [10, 10], });
Jungkook actually couldn’t sing at all when I asked him to. He was so shy and kept on twisting his body for 15 minutes. Our agency even judged that it was impossible for him to debut because he didn’t have talent but now he has become a playful member.” [59] Allkpop jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_559783_1_59').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_559783_1_59', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top right', relative: true, offset: [10, 10], });
He considers G-Dragon, a rapper from the South Korean boy band Big Bang, as his role model.

BTS , South Korean K-pop (Korean pop music) band that shot to international stardom in the late 2010s. Its seven members were Jin (byname of Kim Seok-Jin; b. December 4, 1992, Anyang, South Korea), Suga (original name Min Yoon-Gi; b. March 9, 1993, Buk-gu), J-Hope (byname of Jung Ho-Seok; b. February 18, 1994, Kwangju), RM (also called Rap Monster; original name Kim Nam-Joon; b. September 12, 1994, Ilsan), Jimin (byname of Park Ji-Min; b. October 13, 1995, Pusan), V (original name Kim Tae-Hyung; b. December 30, 1995, Taegu), and Jungkook (byname of Jeon Jeong-Guk; b. September 1, 1997, Pusan). BTS had a devoted following (fans called themselves ARMY [“Adorable Representative MC for Youth”]) and was popular on social media . The band broke numerous records on YouTube —namely, for the most views of a music video within 24 hours of its release, for such singles as “Boy with Luv” (2019), “Dynamite” (2020), and “Butter” (2021).
BTS was formed by Bang Si-Hyuk, a successful songwriter and music producer who established his own studio, Big Hit Entertainment, in 2005. In 2010 he began to assemble talent for a group he was calling the Bangtan Sonyeondan (“Bulletproof Boy Scouts”), which would later become better known as BTS. The members—the first of whom was RM, an underground rapper in Seoul—were selected for their singing, rapping, and dancing skills. The band’s first releases were three EP (extended play) records in the School series, including 2 Cool 4 Skool (2013), O!RUL8,2? (2013), and Skool Luv Affair (2014). BTS’s first full-length album, Dark & Wild , appeared in 2014. The group wrote its own lyrics, commenting on social issues and concentrating on such themes as self-love, individuality, and empowerment. The band’s popularity grew with each recording, and, after releasing The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 1 and Part 2 (both 2015), BTS began its first world tour. With momentum from the tour, Life, Part 2 rose to number one on six international music charts. The album Wings (2016) continued that success, becoming the first of the group’s albums to debut on both the Canadian Hot 100 and the Billboard 200 charts. BTS later rereleased the songs from Wings with four additional singles under the title You Never Walk Alone (2017).
At the Billboard Music Awards presentation in 2017, BTS won the Top Social Artist Award, which had been voted on by fans. The band then won the award each year through 2021, beating such performers as Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber . Meanwhile, the group released another EP, Love Yourself: Her , in 2017. The recording debuted on the Billboard 200 chart at number seven, becoming the first K-pop album to appear on the chart’s top 10. BTS’s third full-length album debuted in 2018. Titled Love Yourself: Tear , it reached the top of the Billboard 200. Love Yourself: Answer (2018) included material from both previous Love Yourself recordings along with a few new songs.
The group delivered the EP Map of the Soul: Persona in 2019. The music video for the lead single, “ Boy with Luv,” drew 74.6 million views on YouTube within 24 hours of its release, breaking records on the platform. BTS followed that success with the full-length album Map of the Soul: 7 (2020). The recording won wide acclaim and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. Later in 2020 the group released the disco-pop single “Dynamite,” its first English-language song. The single debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and the music video amassed an unprecedented 101.1 million views on YouTube in 24 hours. BTS was nominated for a Grammy Award for best pop duo or group performance for the song and performed it at the 2021 awards show. The single was included on the album Be (2020). Meanwhile, BTS also made several Japanese studio albums, including Wake Up (2014), Face Yourself (2018), and Map of the Soul: 7—The Journey (2020). In 2021 BTS released their second English-language single, “Butter,” which debuted on the Billboard Hot 100. Its accompanying video once again beat the band’s previous record, reaching approximately 113 million views on YouTube in one day. BTS performed “Butter” at the 2022 Grammy Awards , where the song was nominated for best pop duo or group performance.
In 2018 BTS released a YouTube documentary series, Burn the Stage , about its 2017 world tour. An extended movie version (2018) later appeared in various countries. Other documentaries of BTS tours included Bring the Soul: The Movie (2019) and Break the Silence: The Movie (2020). In 2019 BTS became the first South Korean musical group to perform on the American comedy and variety television show Saturday Night Live . Later that year a BTS-themed game, BTS World , was released for mobile devices, along with an album of the game’s soundtrack.
Also in 2022 BTS released Proof , an anthology album that included the new single “Yet to Come (The Most Beautiful Moment).” Shortly afterward the band announced a hiatus , suggesting that they planned to pursue solo projects. A couple of months later, their label stated that members of the group were enlisting in South Korea’s military, which by law requires all able-bodied men to enroll by the time they reach age 28 to serve for about two years (a bill passed in 2020 allowed pop stars and other cultural icons to delay conscription until the age of 30). The announcement said members planned to reconvene in 2025 after completing their service.

Jeon Jungkook was born in Busan, South Korea. At just 13 (International age), he received casting offers from 7 entertainment companies, but in the end chose Big Hit Entertainment because of RM, who is now his band mate and leader of BTS. Because he was so young, BTS attended his middle school and high school graduations. Also being the youngest, he is the only Gen Z group member. He is often referred to as 'Golden Maknae' by ARMY, BTS' fan base. The reason for this is because he is good at so many things! 'Maknae' refers to the youngest in a k-pop group. The 'Golden' is because Jungkook is good at pretty almost everything. This includes singing, rapping, dancing, sports, drawing, photography, videography, composing, imitations, acting, bowling, gaming, and more! He even directed their music video 'Life Goes On'. Along with his band mates, they have dominated the charts and broke records left and right. On August 12, 2022, BTS had acquired 26.7 billion views on Youtube, making them the most viewed artist in Youtube history. In 2022, they also set the record for the most 'Group of the Year' wins at the MTS VMAs with their 4th consecutive year. One of their largest though, may be being the first Korean group to be nominated for a Grammy in 2020 or speaking at the United Nations for their UNICEF campaign in 2018. He and his band members have partnered up with artists such as Charlie Puth, Snoop Dogg, Benny Blanco, Halsey, Jason Derulo, Steve Aoki, Charlie XCX, and more. Some personal achievements of Jungkook's were being named the Sexiest International Man in 2020 by People Magazine, his solo 'Euphoria' sold over 4 million copies, making it the highest selling B-Side track by a Korean artist, and another solo song of his, 'My Time' dominated in sales and the World Digital Song Sales chart, and has reached 50M+ Spotify streams. At just 21, Jungkook was the youngest recipient of the distinguished fifth-class Hwagwan Order of Cultural Merit medal, along with his 6 other band mates. - IMDb Mini Biography By: M.S.

Jung-kook was born on 1st September 1997, in Busan, South Korea. While growing up in Busan he attended Baekyang Elementary and Middle School in Busan. Then, when he became a trainee, he transferred to Singu Middle School in Seoul.
From an early age Jungkook was interested in performing and aged 13 In 2011 he auditioned for the South Korean talent show Superstar K which were being held in Daegu. He received casting offers from seven entertainment companies despite not being selected. He eventually chose to become a trainee under Big Hit Entertainment, he has openly said that he chose this small almost bankrupt company because he had seen RM perform and was inspired by him. Jungkook was still very young and he entered the training process at Big Hit and for that training he also spent a month in the summer of 2012 in the US working on his dancing skills under the company Movement Lifestyle. Along with his fellow band members, he then appeared in other musical acts as background dancers. Jungkook was very young and shy and sometimes found it difficult to express himself, something that he has worked hard to overcome and now he is affectionately known as ‘stage commander’ due to his amazing skills in performing.
“Effort makes you. You will regret someday if you don’t do your best now. Don’t think it’s too late but keep working on it. It may take time, but there’s nothing that gets worse due to practising. So practise. You may get depressed, but it’s evidence that you are doing good.”
On the 3rd of February Jimin hinted at something coming and although we can’t see them clearly we now know that the other members with him were Jungkook and Jhope. We later found out that they had filmed a song for Jungkook’s graduation.

“We do make sure that one person doesn’t stand out. But then, we are really unique. We all have our style, so I think we all stand out. We each have our own roles and positions in the band, and then we work together to make sure we all try hard for the Army.”
On 4th June 2013 Jungkook was officially introduced as a member of BTS as Main Vocalist, Lead Dancer, Sub Rapper, Centre and Maknae. Along with the other members Jungkook officially debuted on 13th June 2013.Jungkook has never been a heavy user of social media and even from the very start he rarely posted on twitter. Jungkook deleted his personal Instagram page when it had 50 million subscribers indicating that social media is not important to him. He instead likes to speak to his fans through doing lives on the company’s social media platform Weverse where he spends his time talking to fans, singing karaoke or watching videos with them.
“We should try to respect and understand each other. We need to be considerate of others. Only then we can understand each other and get close to each other and become one.”

The BTS members are currently serving in the South Korean military . Eldest member Jin was the first to be discharged in June.
BTS is expected to reconvene as a group in 2025.

15 lesser-known facts about BTS’ Jungkook every true fan must know
This multifaceted billionaire member of the South Korean group BTS boasts a long list of talents. He is a gifted singer, rapper, songwriter, director, record producer and art enthusiast. Be it creating history with his 2022 FIFA World Cup performance or featuring on Rolling Stone ’s list of 200 Greatest Singers of All Time, Jeon Jungkook has successfully cemented his name in the global music industry, both through BTS and his solo endeavours.
With around 22 Korean Music Copyright Association (KOMCA) songwriting credits to his name, Jungkook is one of the most buzz-generating members of BTS since his debut in 2013. He is also one of the fastest K-pop soloists to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify with just three tracks outside his group act — “Stay Alive”, “Left and Right” and “Dreamers”.
In 2022, he created history by becoming the first Korean male artist to chart on Billboard Hot 100 with his OST “Stay Alive”, produced by bandmate Suga, for the septet’s webtoon series, 7Fates: Chakho.
From auditioning in numerous reality shows as a 15-year-old to gearing up for his solo debut in 2023, the BTS member has come a long way.
Here are some lesser-known facts about Jeon Jungkook of BTS
Jeon jungkook is called busan prince.
Born on 1 September 1997 in Busan, South Korea, Jungkook is the youngest member of BTS, earning him the moniker Golden Maknae. He holds the positions of the official centre, the main vocalist, sub rapper and lead dancer.
Often referred to as Busan Prince by fans and people from his hometown, Jungkook moved to Seoul at the end of 2010 to become a trainee and attended the School of Performing Arts Seoul. His schoolmates included SinB and Umji of GFriend.
7 music labels approached Jungkook before his debut
In 2011, Jungkook participated in the popular Mnet audition programme, SuperStar K Season 3 but never made it to the finals. Despite that, his rendition of 2AM’s “This Song” managed to grab the attention of major music labels in Korea, including Big Hit Entertainment.
During a guest appearance on a 2017 episode of Mnet’s New Yang Nam Show , the BTS singer shared that after his audition, he received calls from around “seven different agencies.”
Jungkook joined BTS because of RM
While JYP Entertainment, FNC Entertainment, TS Entertainment and many other entertainment companies wanted to sign Jungkook, he opted for Big Hit Entertainment. The reason? His love and admiration for the BTS leader Kim Namjoon aka RM, who was an underground rapper back then going by the stage name Runch Randa.
Jungkook has revealed in numerous interviews that when he was living in Busan, he didn’t know a lot of musicians. But he was enamoured by RM’s rapping skills and wanted to know his company.
When he participated in Superstar K , he came across Big Hit’s owner Bang Si-hyuk and learned that RM was a trainee there. A 15-year-old Jungkook then made up his mind to work alongside his inspiration and chose to join the Seoul-based label.
His stage name
The K-pop idol has revealed in numerous interviews that his stage name was almost ‘Seagull’ — a reference to the official bird of Busan. However, he decided to use his real name ‘Jeon Jeongguk’, but later altered the spelling to ‘Jungkook’.
Jungkook can play multiple instruments
The BTS heartthrob loves to learn to play new instruments and never fails to impress. He is good with the guitar and drums and often shows off his skills on various BTS reality shows as well as their concerts. Jungkook also entertains BTS Army — the band’s loyal group of fans — by playing the guitar during his live streams.
Jungkook’s beatboxing skills
Even since his debut days, Jungkook has had a knack for beatboxing. He mixes vocal sounds with beatbox elements to make unique rhythms. He sometimes breaks out into beatbox performances mid-singing.
A black belt in taekwondo
The BTS member has a black belt in taekwondo. He started training in the Korean martial art at the age of 12.
Jungkook’s taekwondo practice video as a kid has around 2.2 million views on YouTube.
Jeon Jungkook is an incredible boxer
The youngest BTS member has showcased his love for boxing in various instances over the past few years. He also joined the Olympic gold medalist and star of Netflix’s Physical: 100 Choo Sung-hoon for a sparring session in June 2022.
When an interviewer asked Sung-hoon about his experience, the mixed martial artist praised the “Butter” singer’s skills and said that he could become a professional boxer if he focused more on his training.
His record-breaking live streams
Jungkook is the king of setting new records with his live streams.
The BTS singer’s 2021 appearance on the South Korean streaming app, Vlive garnered more than 22 million viewers in just 1 hour and 18 minutes. It has the highest recorded real-time views for an individual livestream on the platform.
Jungkook also holds the record for the top four most real-time views for an individual livestream on Weverse — a fan community platform developed by Weverse Company, a subsidiary platform company of HYBE.
The singer’s 2023 Weverse live stream on 1 February broke the record for the most real-time views for an individual on the platform in history, with over 16.3 million views. His livestream the same night holds second place, with over 12.4 million real-time views.
While his Weverse live stream on 3 February 2023 recorded a total of 10 million views, his birthday livestream in 2022 had over 9.5 million real-time views.
First Korean to perform at FIFA World Cup in Qatar
The “Dynamite” hitmaker is the first Korean artist to perform at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Apart from being part of the World Cup Soundtrack “Dreamers” with Qatari singer Fahad Al Kubaisi, Jungkook also performed the song at the opening ceremony of the prestigious sporting event. Thanks to this, in January 2023, he became the first Asian act to have a live performance surpassing 100M views on YouTube.
A passionate visual artist
Did you know Jungkook’s artistic bent goes beyond his musical talents?
While the singer showcased his painting skills during the group’s reality TV series BTS In The Soop, in 2018, he also created the album cover art for Suga’s “Seesaw x I NEED U Remix” — a proof of his graphic design skills.
Another amazing art piece by Jungkook was a beautiful golden clock that he designed for the 24/7 = Serendipity exhibition in 2019.
The latest addition to this list is the 2021 cover art he created for his rendition of Harry Styles’s “Falling”.
He has his own production studio
Called Golden Closet Film, Jungkook started his own video production studio in 2017. The name is inspired by his old dorm room, which resembled a big walk-in closet, and the first part of his nickname, Golden Maknae.
The most popular work produced by his studio is G.C.F, a travel vlog-style series, shot, edited and directed by Jungkook himself.
‘A.R.M.Y’ was Jeon Jungkook’s first tattoo
The BTS singer has been covering the back of his right hand and sleeve with new inks for a while now. In one of his Weverse lives, the “Still With You” crooner finally gave Army a tour of his tattoos.
Jungkook shared that the first tattoo he got was ‘A.R.M.Y.’ He inked it on his knuckles as he is proud of the BTS fandom and so wanted the symbol in a visible spot. He then gave fans a detailed explanation about his crown tattoo, his birth flower tattoo and the rest.
The South Korean idol also revealed that he has his birth time inked in between his other tattoos.
Obsessed with video games and his pet dog Bam
Jungkook’s love for video games is so deep that he once wanted to be a professional gamer.
The singer is a big fan of the multiplayer first-person shooter game Overwatch . He has also been spotted playing video games like Pyke, Teamfight Tactics and StarCraft on multiple occasions.
And for all those admirers who are curious to know about the love of his life, it is his pet Jeon Bam. The latter is a Doberman and was revealed through JK’s lock-screen wallpaper during his Vlive on 31 August 2021. Bam was officially introduced to the world in the first episode of BTS In the Soop season 2.
Fans often call him Daddy
Besides Golden Maknae, Jungkook has some of the most interesting nicknames.
Fans also refer to him as Golden Boy, JK, Kookie, Jungkookie, Muscle Pig, Bunny and even Daddy. The last one has a special place in the hearts of his fans. So much so, that after his March 2023 campaign with Calvin Klein as the brand’s global ambassador, the hashtag “Daddy” trended for hours on Twitter.
Not just that. Jungkook’s snaps from his Calvin Klein shoot inspired fans to snap up products by the brand. The ad soon became one of the biggest global campaigns this year and the singer increased the stocks of Calvin Klein’s owning company PVH Corp. by a staggering 20 per cent.

The post read, “Jung Kook's first official documentary in cinemas worldwide! Experience Jungkook's golden moments in his first official documentary, coming to theaters worldwide on September 18!"
It follows the talented and ever-growing artist on his eight-month journey toward becoming a “global pop star” who captivated the global music scene and takes a dive into the star’s heartfelt love for his fans, ARMY. Catch a sneak peek into how he prepared for his first solo album GOLDEN, scenes from the lively, internationally loved performance at various venues, and never-before-released behind-the-scenes footage of the K-pop idol's inner-most thoughts —all in his first documentary film. Global booking commences on August 21, 2024.
Jungkook recently caused a stir on social media after videos of him allegedly vaping on the travel show 'Are You Sure?!' went viral. He has previously admitted to smoking, hence his loyal fanbase the BTS ARMY was unfazed by the sudden influx of comments on his personal life.
Last month, on BTS ARMY Day (July 9) Bangtan TV dropped three bombs on YouTube. The clip of Jungkook shows him unwinding in Qatar ahead of his performance at the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony in 2022. The youngest BTS member is seen arriving at the airport all sleepy and zooming straight to his hotel where he takes a dip in the pool while also talking about his last-minute change in the dance performance for the grand event.
Clad in black swimming gear, he practices his dance steps while still drenched. He also takes a bunch of photos with a picturesque background. He also sits on a rollercoaster at an amusement park and enjoys the bowling alley.
Jungkook performed the song ‘Dreamers’ on the global stage and was the first K-pop star to do so. Being tapped to perform at the opening ceremony in Qatar, the 'Euphoria' singer debuted the full-English song in front of a packed Albaite Stadium in Alcor.
Meanwhile, Jungkook commenced his compulsory military service in December 2023. In a statement, he wrote on Weverse, "I'm leaving you for a while to serve in the military. As I share this news, I feel heavy on one hand, and on the other hand, I'm reminded of precious memories with ARMY, so my heart warms up. Every moment I've spent with you has been the brightest time of my life."

How jimin and jung kook’s road trip became ‘are you sure’.

Jung Kook and Jimin enjoyed winter sports in Sapporo, Japan.
Before enlisting for the mandatory military duty required of all able-bodied South Korean males, BTS members Jimin and Jung Kook wanted to take one more road trip and film that trip so fans could virtually tag along. The idea was to create content similar to the travel reality show BTS Bon Voyage , where all the members traveled together. The result of that 2023 road trip became the new Disney+ travel reality show Are You Sure? Naming the show was a collaborative effort between the k-pop idols and the production team, but, according to director Jun Soo Park, the title was inspired by a question Jimin asked more than once.
“It was thanks to Jimin, who kept asking, 'Are You Sure?!' throughout the filming, that the final title came to be Are You Sure?!” said Park.
The itinerary includes a trip to the U.S., then Korea’s Jeju Island then Sapporo, Japan, but the plan did not originally cover that much of the globe. First, the production team suggested a trip to the U.S. because Jimin and Jung Kook had never been there for a casual trip.
“When they set off for the States, they had no plans for the second or third locations—Jeju Island and Sapporo,” said Park. “They were disappointed to end the trip in the States and also wanted to do something more as a gift to fans. With that in mind, they proposed the idea to continue the trip to Jeju Island and Japan. After starting with the States, they went on a trip to the other locations at intervals of two to three months.”
Jung Kook enjoys a quiet moment while kayaking with Jimin in Connecticut.
Before beginning the trip, the production team asked Jimin and Jung Kook if there were any food or activities they wanted to try in those regions. They then used the answers to design the itinerary, acting as travel guides to prepare various options the BTS members could choose from.
Apple iPhone 16 And iPhone 16 Pro Key Upgrades Revealed In Latest Dispatch
The blake lively backlash on tiktok, explained, today’s nyt mini crossword clues and answers for thursday, august 15.
“It is a reality show which fully reflects the two members’ ideas,” said Park. “Right from the start, the show was developed very much in collaboration with Jimin and Jung Kook, who actively shared their thoughts on the locations and activities they wanted to explore.”
As a result, Jimin and Jung Kook got to enjoy some well-earned free time by kayaking and hiking in the U.S., snorkeling and fishing off Jeju Island and skiing in Japan. When visiting the U.S. they initially intended to enjoy outdoor activities somewhere near New York City and wound up in Connecticut.
“While looking for a place within two hours of New York where Jimin and Jung Kook could relax in nature and try out different activities they wanted, we came across Connecticut,” said Park. “It was a location that we weren’t familiar with at first, but it fit perfectly with what we intended to do, so we headed to Connecticut as the first destination for our trip.”
The series is named 'Are You Sure?!' because Jimin kept asking that very question.
While cast and crew tried to avoid attracting attention, it’s hard to be as famous as BTS and not be recognized by someone. Occasionally they were. However, being recognized did not present any problems thanks to the fans that respectfully gave them space.
“We were able to find and shoot mostly in quiet locations,” said Park. “But we were still prepared to handle any situations that might arise at those locations. Luckily we didn’t draw much attention while shooting, and the whole trip went very smoothly. Additionally, the fans, who encountered the members on the streets, were very considerate of Jimin and Jung Kook, and due to this, we were able to wrap up the shoot in safe, enjoyable conditions.”
The show, which was co-directed by Park ( Tomorrow X Together: Our Lost Summer , j-hope In The Box and the drama Gaus Electronics ) and Hana Lee, airs on Disney+.
