What Is The YouTube Category List?

The YouTube Category List is essentially all of the types of videos that you can publish on the platform. When you publish a video on YouTube, you can select a specific category to rank for. For more strategies on promoting your YouTube videos and increasing their visibility, check out YouTube promotion services here.

movie review channel category

Think of it like YouTube is a giant book store, and you want to put your book in the correct category. You won't sell many copies of your comic book if you put it in the autobiography section.

u tube categories are

What Categories Are There?

There are 15 categories in total on YouTube:

1: Film and Animation

The film and animation category is one of the biggest sections of YouTube.

Film is the Youtube Video category containing anything movie related. Think of things like movie trailers, movie reviews, and movie scenes. The youtube channels with the most views almost always come from trailers for movies made by big film and animation industries like A24, Disney, and Sony.

There are lots of creators in the film category who commit to franchises and niches. They make other film related videos like "The Film Theorists" and "ScreenRant" who use the hype around popular movies and TV Shows to make awesome content.

The animation category is popular for many Youtube channels, though often at a smaller scale.

Animation

This can be applied to studios as large as Pixar, all the way down to independent creators who make other animation related videos like "Jaiden Animations".

2: Autos and Vehicles

Autos and Vehicles is a very big niche on YouTube. This is everything from Car showings to basic tutorials on how to change a tire.

Cars

Channels like Mighty Car Mods make their content entirely around cars and adding really cool modifications to those cars.

The music category was the bread and butter of YouTube in its early years, and it is still a huge cash cow. A music video on a YouTube channel like VEVO or Sony can easily rake in hundreds of millions of views. Lots of independent creators also use YouTube to promote their music, posting covers, remixes and other independent content.

music

Famous Musicians like Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes, The Weeknd, and even Ed Sheeran used a YouTube Channel to start their music careers.

4: Pets & Animals

This category covers anything to do with animals and pets. The pets category people who make content around their pets, like pet vlogs, pet-care advice, and more. The biggest independent creator in this space is Brave Wilderness, who films real life analysis of all sorts of animals and insects.

Animals

The animals category includes videos related to animals or wildlife. This means it covers things like wildlife documentaries, Animal guides, and any content revolving around non-domesticated wildlife.

The sports category covers all content about sports related activities. This could be sports commentary, talk shows, game highlights, and more.

sports

I personally am subscribed to SportsCenter, NFL, and sports podcasts like The Pat McAfee Show so I can keep up to date on football news, highlights and commentary.

6: Travel and Events

Travel and Events is a youtube category around the concept of travel, attractions, and tourism. Travel Channels are usually travel vlogs that follows independent creators as they explore cool places all over the globe.

movie review channel category

Event Channels are also composed of Vlogs that shows the creators seeing popular or novel events like Coachella, The Area 51 Raid, and more.

One of my favorite event channels on YouTube is "Channel 5 With Andrew Callaghan". Andrew Callaghan makes event videos where he goes to events, rallies, and conventions all across the country to interview some of the strangest people you've ever met.

movie review channel category

He basically finds where all the crazies are congregated and lets them talk in a mic for 10 minutes.

There is also a more serious side to his content, where he does reporting at major public events. He's been at many major political events in the recent years, from the DC Trucker Rally last winter to the Minnesota Black Lives Matter Protests in the Summer of 2020.

Recently, he even made a trip to Ukraine where he interviewed civilians and volunteer militia trapped in the war zone.

Disclaimer:  His content includes interviewing people at very controversial and taboo settings. I'm not endorsing or disparaging any lifestyle or ideology. I just wanted to promote a channel I find entertaining.

You would be surprised how well a gaming channel can do on YouTube. Gaming channels can be gameplay walkthroughs, reviews, and even hour long streams of watching other people play some game. People want to know what their favorite creators think of the newest games.

A huge portion of the fresh and trending content on YouTube come from gaming channels, and some of them are even faceless YouTube channels .

movie review channel category

Some of the most successful creators on the platform, like "PewDiePie" and "Mr. Beast", are Gaming Channels. Those two independent creators have a combined subscriber count of over 200 million people! (That's a little less than 2/3 of the United States Population!)

8: People and Blogs

This category refers to content about other people or their content. This includes individual success stories, drama channels, and informative topic videos about famous people.

movie review channel category

Some YouTube channels focus at least partially on the drama of other YouTubers and celebrities and the drama surrounding it. An example of someone doing it well would be a channel like Philip Defranco, who essentially compresses hours worth of pop culture events, celebrity drama, and feel-good stories into a daily show.

Comedy is a pretty big category on YouTube, as most YouTubers try to make their content funny since it keeps people engaged and makes the content more fun. There are plenty of channels on the platform like "Smosh" and "CollegeHumor" that build their channel around sketch comedy and improv.

movie review channel category

Another great source of comedy on YouTube is stand up comedy, and tons of comedians upload clips and bits of their material on YouTube. Channels like "Netflix is a Joke",  "Comedy Central", and "The Laugh Factory" are a great way to find really funny stand-up bits and even full specials.

Prank videos used to be a staple of YouTube Comedy, but has slowly fazed out from the comedy category over the years after multiple incidents where Prank YouTubers broke the law, harmed themselves, and even harmed others for content. It quickly devolved from harmless fun to actual harassment and public nuisance.

10: Entertainment

The entertainment category looks at covering everything related to pop-culture and celebrities. Think of companies like "TMZ" or "Extra!" whose whole business model is making content and news revolving around celebrities lives.

movie review channel category

For example, a little over a month ago Chris Rock was slapped by Will Smith at the Oscars, and a YouTube video of that altercation gained tens of millions of views overnight!  Other videos related to the incident also gained millions and millions of views over the life of that event's hype.

When something major happens in the entertainment industry, views in this YouTube video category skyrocket.

11: News and Politics

The News and Politics category is essentially any content about breaking news, political debates, or developing stories. It is much easier, in my opinion, to see 5 minute YouTube video of the nightly news on YouTube rather than sitting in front of a TV for an hour.

movie review channel category

There are the big players, of course, like CNN and Fox News. However, political commentary is also a huge niche that people are looking up on YouTube.

movie review channel category

You can find political commentary channels for almost any political identity, wether you are right wing, left wing, or somewhere in between.

12: How-to and Style

How-To Guides are some of the biggest resources that YouTube offers. Wether you want to see a YouTube video to learn how to parallel park or how to build a cabin from scratch, there are tutorial channels out there for you.

movie review channel category

Crafting is also a very big sub category within the niche, and people love to watch how to do crafts and simple projects. 5-Minute Crafts has a huge following on almost exclusively short-form content.

13: Education

The Educational YouTube video category is a high school teacher's best friend. Channels like "Khan Academy" or "The Organic Chemistry Tutor" had incredibly helpful math and science lessons and educational videos that were staples of my High School and College Study Sessions.

movie review channel category

The YouTube Channel "The Organic Chemistry Tutor" makes youtube videos about every basic math and science class from algebra, all the way to Calculus III and even Chemistry! His content helped me prepare for so many tests and exams over the years, and I love that YouTube channel so much!

With every educational YouTube Channel, there is also an air of entertainment to some of them that makes all their YouTube videos both fun and engaging. For someone to keep watching your YouTube Video, you need to keep them invested.

movie review channel category

People like Hank and John Green use their Channel "VlogBrothers" to teach about everything related to Science and History. One brother is a Historian, while the other is a scientist, and they make their content around discussing some of the craziest facts and realities around both disciplines.

one YouTube video could be about how the Romans washed their clothes in Urine, and the next might be about how all bananas are clones of each other.

14: Science and Technology

Science and Technology is any content that refers to or revolves around Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).

movie review channel category

Lots of YouTubers use their knowledge and proficiency in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) to create incredible content. Tech Channels like "Marques Brownlee", "Mark Rober" and "Michael Reeves" use their Engineering experience to make Youtube videos that will attract anyone with an interest in STEM.

I'm an Engineering major, and these guys are living my fantasy; using STEM and computer technology to create really cool, if not comically elaborate, stuff.

15: Nonprofits and Activism

One of the best uses of YouTube is that it gives charitable organizations and important social movements a platform to share their content.

movie review channel category

Wether they are showcasing everything the organization has done, or they are asking for donation, both are possible in this YouTube category. They make content where the video's main aim is to make people aware of what they are trying to achieve and how you can help.

How to Set Your Channel's Default Category

The easiest way to add a category to your content is to set your channel's default channel category and optimize the upload video process.

Here is how you do that:

1: Access YouTube Channel Studio

This will be in the top right corner of your YouTube screen. Simply click on your profile picture and select "YouTube Studio"

movie review channel category

2: Select "Settings"

On the left side-bar, you will scroll down and select "settings". In the settings menu, you can edit the default category of your channel.

movie review channel category

3: Select " Upload Defaults" and Go to "Advanced Settings"

From there, your content is set to a default category, meaning that any videos you post will be labeled under that category unless you change it manually. This makes the upload video process much easier if you have a definitive niche and post most of your videos within a specific category.

movie review channel category

You can also use this section to edit the default Title and Description of every video, which is an easy way to share your existence on other platforms. Any time you create videos, they will be labeled under that default category unless you change it manually.

How To Change An Individual Channel's Category

Sometimes, you might need to edit your videos category on an individual basis and optimize the edit video process.

Follow these steps:

1: Select Content and Click on The Video You Want To Edit

In the left side panel, you will select the "Content" option. That will show you all of your videos and livestreams you've uploaded. Simply click on the thumbnail of the video whose category you want to update.

movie review channel category

2: Click "Show More"

Scroll down to the bottom of the Video Details page and select "SHOW MORE".

movie review channel category

3: Scroll Down and Edit Category

You will need to scroll all the way to the bottom of the page. From there, you will be able to toggle your video's specific category.

movie review channel category

Remember, the category dropdown will be all the way at the bottom of the video details page. Also, these changes aren't automatic, so make sure you save your changes for them to be applied.

Do Categories Matter?

You're definitely in a better position for using YouTube video categories to label your content

It is definitely something you should always do, but YouTube's Algorithm is so powerful and complex, it will drive people to your content regardless of what category you placed the video under. Categories are essential for driving traffic, but they're only a piece of the pie.

The key to getting the algorithm to work for your channel is to be consistent in the type of content you generate. The more videos you make of a certain category, YouTube will send more people within that niche to check out your content.

How to Pick The Right Category

"What is the best youtube category?"

Categories aren't some sort of special recipe to farming views, but YouTube's Algorithm is looking for performance and consistency. You can't list under YouTube video categories that are unrelated to your actual content since the category is just part of YouTube's Complex algorithm.

It is pretty tough to decide which category you fall under, especially when your content can be so nuanced. However, there are 4 categories that get the most views on YouTube:

Comedy Videos

Entertainment/Pop-Culture

Every category on YouTube has plenty of potential, but if your best YouTube Category falls under those 4 options, then you are in luck, because they have the largest audiences!

For example, Nate's Channel "Evergreen Affiliate Marketing " is full of videos that can fall under the How-To category.

And that is all there is to it.

Before today, I did not know categories existed… actually, I am beginning to use YouTube more and just learning the basics.

Oh cool. Be sure to use them in your videos going forward.

Great post. I always wondered what the video categories on Youtube meant, but now I have a better understanding. However i will say that for the kind of videos that i create, i've always put them in the “How To” section because i make “how to” kind of videos. I'm glad my intuition got that part right.

The most popular video on the channel is aptly titled “What Game Of Thrones Kinda Forgot” and of course, tackles that final season, with 2 million views on that one.

The Take is a YouTube channel that explores the themes, characters, and ideas in movies, TV shows, and other media. The channel’s videos analyze popular films and shows to uncover potential hidden meanings and subtext.

There are some fascinating videos here too, including looking at Unreliable Narrators, why shows continue to get cancelled, along with a fair few looking into social commentary on Hollywood.

This one’s going to be more of an acquired taste, but the video essays, along with the ending explained videos, are well worth a watch.

Unsurprisingly, the top videos are those aforementioned endings, with “American Psycho Ending Explained: What Really Happened?” clocking in at 4.7 million views overall.

Jay Exci is a hilarious Youtuber who absolutely exudes the humour and wit that makes British comedy so endearing. Jay offers insightful analysis and reviews of movies, TV shows and other pop culture.

Their magnum opus comes in the form of “The Fall of Doctor Who”, which is a 5 hour 14 minute video. It’s a brilliant, thought provoking and oftentimes hilarious breakdown of the long-running sci-fi series. In fact, it was even quoted and mocked (undeservedly so) by a journalist who later admitted he hadn’t even watched the video! That’s a shame because had he done so, he’d realize how impressive the feature actually is.

The most popular video though is not “The Fall of Doctor Who” but actually (outside of the hilarious “5-Minute Crafts Makes the Worst Life Hacks of All Time”) “Netflix’s Paradise PD is Painfully Unfunny”, which has clocked in 4.2 million views.

However, there are all sorts of other neat additions here too, including a deep-dive into Quentin Tarantino’s movies, the effectiveness of jump scares, and how important opening shots in movies actually are.

These quirky parts are balanced out by some of the longer essays, including The Lion King remake, which clocks in at a tasty 2 hours and 40 minutes.

Full Fat Videos

Full Fat Videos is probably unknown to the masses, and that’s a shame because the content here is really well-done. Full Fat Videos are, by their very definition, chock full of content and really do well to break down different parts of movies and TV shows, with the intention of sparking discussions.

The video, “Is X-Men: The Last Stand Really That Bad?” offers up a thought provoking piece that dissects what went wrong with the third X-Men movie and whether the panning from fans and critics alike was justified.

The different video essays rarely run more than 30 minutes, but there’s a lot packed into that time. The most popular essay on the channel is titled “How the Russos Fixed Iron Man | Video Essay” which looks at Tony Stark’s journey across the MCU, and has 2.8 million views.

17 Best YouTube Movie Channels of 2020 To Check Out

Those on the smaller screen who know all about the big.

movie review channel category

There’re tons of channels that celebrate a love for cinema, and even the more popular ones are seemingly uncredited for their insight, hilarity, and genuineness. That lack of representation needs to change, and I want to help change it. My most recent contribution? Compiling this list of talented, funny, wonderful human beings that love movies almost as much as I do.

In a year that had many of us feeling rather uncertain about our futures, the sense of comfort and familiarity these content creators have given us and continue to give us is nothing short of inspiring and certainly worthy of praise. In no particular order, here are 17 of the best YouTube movie channels of 2020. All figures are accurate at the time of writing.

1. C-Reel Productions

Christian’s ability to passionately discuss film and offer his perspective is merely a fraction of what makes C-Reel Productions an entertaining channel.

He currently has 10k subscribers and releases several videos weekly. The channel has been up and running since mid-November of 2016; since which time it has noticeably maintained its friendly vibe, primarily through Christian’s confidence in front of the camera. C-Reel Productions has a slight and enthusiastic focus on the superhero subgenre, but covers many other types of films as well.

2. The Reel Rejects

Debuting all the way back in 2012, Greg and John have been creating consistently good movie reviews, as well as humorous skits and reactions to trailers. Of course back then they went by Ryan and Jerry.

Since then, their channel has grown incredibly popular and the comedic duo have kept us updated with all sorts of movie news in a rather timely manner. If not from me, take it from any of their 788k subscribers, their videos are funny and entertaining, and they put out several new ones a week.

3. Tasha Tipton

Tasha began uploading videos just over a year ago and already has an impressive 7.59k subscribers. She’s sometimes joined by her friends, Emma and Elizabeth, whose reactions are just as priceless as Tasha’s. The channel explores all kinds of genres and even reacts to episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., as well.

I believe that, with its positive vibe and genuineness of the reaction videos and reviews, Ms. Tipton’s channel has a lot of potential to reach a much wider audience this year, and it would be well deserved.

4. Austin Burke

Austin’s channel has been up and running for about 6 years now and is currently keeping 82.1k subscribers in the loop with neatly edited movie news updates, and well-thought-out rankings and reviews.

It’s obvious that not only does Austin put a lot of effort into these videos, he’s also having fun doing it. He discusses theatrical releases and streaming service productions, several times a week, seemingly with ease. If you’re casually surfing the internet one night unsure of what to watch, Austin’s channel has binge-worthy content that will keep you occupied.

5. Decker Shado

The self-proclaimed “internet personality with the best hair” has a knack for talking fast and thinking even faster. Adequately combining impressive hilarious timing with in-depth critiques of both mainstream and cult films, Decker’s channel never fails to entertain.

He currently has 172k subscribers and 12 years worth of content, with some of his videos including comedic skits, as well as additional notes for his reviews. Even if the movie itself isn’t up your alley, Decker’s reviews are sure to have you laughing.

6. Ashleigh Burton

Almost a year after Ashleigh started her YouTube channel, she’s already at a noteworthy 49.4k subscribers. She has a series of reaction and review videos titled, “Millenial Movie Mondays” where, as the title clearly indicates, Ashleigh reacts to movies that she hasn’t seen.

A lot of the movies seem to be suggestions from her subscribers. It’s obvious a lot of work goes into creating and editing her videos, and the payoff is her genuinely interesting reactions to movies you and I have likely etched into our minds. Extra points for Beans the cat.

7. The Flick Pick

The first thing that got me hooked on John Flickinger’s videos is his love of physical media, primarily because I can relate to that. The Flick Pick is his main channel and has 277k subscribers, and his second channel, John Flickinger, has 97.4k subscribers.

Both feature insightful, well put together videos that terrifically capture what it’s like to be a shamelessly passionate cinephile with seemingly unmatchable heart and energy. His primary channel has been up for 10 years and his secondary channel has been around for 9.

8. Cinema Rules

In just over 5 months of creating videos, Shaun and Tom have managed to attract 42.3k subscribers. The two of them react and review movies one or the other, and sometimes both, have not seen previously.

They began their channel by reviewing classic horror movies and have since explored other genres. One of the most appealing aspects of Cinema Rules is the brotherly bond between the hosts, who clearly aspire to be filmmakers and are passionate enough to pull it off.

Vicky’s original channel has unfortunately fallen victim to YouTube’s restrictive and sometimes unclear policies, however she’s since created a secondary account with the same wonderful effort and insight that makes her channel so unique. Her new channel is currently at 27.8k subscribers, though it’s merely been active for 2 months.

Vicky really focuses on the films she watches to the same professional degree any respectable film critic would. The amiable and intelligent content creators are the most entertaining, and it’s especially evident at VKunia.

10. We Watched A Movie

Mike and J at We Watched A Movie have come a long way in the 9 years they’ve been reviewing movies and creating hilarious parodies and skits, and any of their 125k subscribers will surely tell you the same.

They upload new content weekly, as well as participate in live streams and unboxing videos. Half the fun of their channel is the positive vibe and wild energy the two hosts bring with their big personalities and even bigger appreciation for films, new and old. They’re down to Earth and appreciate their subscribers more than any popular influencer I’m aware of.

11. Zach Pope

No one embodies the spiritedness of cinephilia quite the same way Zach does. He’s been a film critic on YouTube for about 6 years now, reaching 17k subscribers.

There is no shortage of content available with thorough, articulate reviews for an array of films and shows of various genres and subgenres. Zach usually uploads a few videos a week and will occasionally do live Q&A streams, where he continues to clearly show his love for cinema.

12. Facci’s Faccmonster Cinema

Matt began his channel in June of 2020 and has shown a terrific appreciation and knowledge of horror films, often reacting to classics he’s not yet seen via live streams and enjoyable reviews.

Obviously a fresher face on YouTube and catering to what many would say is a niche genre, the Faccmonster is still reaching 280 subscribers, rightfully climbing in viewership and subscriptions week after week. Whereas many reviewers began with semi-grainy videos taken from harsh angles, Matt’s editing and set up puts him ahead of the curve.

13. Stoned Gremlin Productions

Currently at 166k subscribers, Stoned Gremlin Productions is the home of Brad Jones’s “Cinema Snob” host persona and Lloyd the Siamese Cat. The channel has been around since 2015 and never misses an opportunity to comedically offer in-depth criticisms and feedback on movies old and new.

More than that, post-screening reviews with members of “Team Snob” are also worthy of a subscription. One of the most entertaining aspects of The Cinema Snob is the comical and clever pop culture references found in each upload — and Lloyd. Obviously.

14. Drumdums

Not only is Lee one of the nicest human beings on YouTube, he’s also a retired Air Force MSgt, a Rotten Tomatoes critic, and he’s also an avid drummer. Imagine having all that energy, as well as faithfully uploading to YouTube for 7 years, and it’s easy to understand why he has 41.4k subscribers.

Providing thorough critiques and convention videos, Drumdums is easily one of the most enjoyable channels around. Whether it’s reviews, reactions, rankings or revisists, Drumdums is a worthy watch.

15. Chris Stuckmann

One of the most professional and affable film critics around today, Chris Stuckmann is also an author . He currently has 1.88 million subscribers and it’s of course something very well deserved.

Chris has excellent diction, an understanding of the many facets of filmmaking, and balances humor with his professionalism. His channel, now in its 10th year, covers many films, old and new, of different genres and subgenres. You can expect a couple new uploads a month.

16. Jimmy Champane

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMJj-B2p5z8

Jimmy’s channel offers movie news, retrospectives, and more recently, a Halloween fan film. The channel has definitely leaned more towards cinephiles and horror fanatics, though anyone can find joy and be easily fascinated by Jimmy’s kind nature and ability to professionally discuss cinema.

He has 31k subscribers and counting, with a couple monthly video uploads to look forward to. As with every channel I’m listing, Jimmy Champane has a great eye for background set up, thumbnail creation and video editing.

17. Dr. Wolfula

This channel has it all: a memorable host, ruminative, albeit succinct explanations and criticisms, and in-depth knowledge of genre films.

10 years and 107k subscribers later, Dr. Wolfula manages to keep his channel fresh and entertaining, and the amount of dedication to detail is indisputably awe-inspiring. You don’t necessarily have to be a fan of the horror genre to enjoy Dr. Wolfula’s content. In fact, I would argue his reviews are more in-depth than most other reviewers’.

There’s truly something for everybody, and these are just a few of my favorite YouTubers. If you have not done so already, I encourage you to check out these channels. Let us know how many you subscribe to.

What are the different types of YouTube Video Categories?

Do you produce YouTube videos? Are you struggling to receive the anticipated number of video views?

You're definitely not doing something correctly. You might not be familiar with YouTube's functionality or SEO . Not to worry! This article was written to assist you in growing your YouTube channel . This blog's main goal is to help you understand how YouTube functions and the significance of the various YouTube video categories. So let's get going.

movie review channel category

Meaning of YouTube Video Categories

On the YouTube platform, channels and videos can be arranged using YouTube video categories. It goes without saying that you will get greater results if you apply your video to the correct category. It makes it much easier than you might imagine for the intended audience to find your Youtube video.

movie review channel category

Different Types of YouTube Categories?

On YouTube, there are a total of 15 categories −

Animation and Film

One of the largest areas of YouTube is the film and animation category.

The YouTube video category called "Film" includes all movie-related content. Consider examples like movie reviews, movie trailers, and movie scenes. Trailers for movies produced by major film and animation studios like A24, Disney, and Sony typically have the most views on YouTube.

movie review channel category

The animation category is getting popular on many YouTube channels. This applies to big organizations such as Pixar as well as independent producers of other animation-related media like "Jaiden Animations."

movie review channel category

Autos and Vehicles

As implied by the category name, it caters to the video category about cars and other vehicles. This could take the shape of a self-blog, an advertisement, or a review of a car. Everything that has a vehicle component as a primary subject needs to be added to the corresponding category.

movie review channel category

Music Videos

On YouTube, music videos are consistently the most viewed type of content. It's likely the only platform where all brand-new music videos are published and easily accessible. The majority of musicians have their own YouTube channels where they post the music videos for their most recent albums, and then it's a race against time to get the most views.

movie review channel category

Pets and Animals

Anything relating to animals and pets is included in this category. People that create content about their dogs, such as pet vlogs, pet care tips, and more, fall under the "pets" category. The most well-known independent creator in this field is Brave Wilderness, which produces videos of real-life analyses of various animals and insects.

movie review channel category

Videos about animals or nature can be found in the animal category. This means that it includes things like wildlife documentaries, animal guides, and any other content centered around wild animals.

movie review channel category

Here, you can only upload videos about various sports, as the category indicates. Sports can be played outdoors or indoors. To attract the interest of sports fans and help you get the outcomes you're after, everything involving or related to sports needs to be uploaded here. Sports-related videos must be posted in the appropriate category, whether they are about baseball, football, or another sport.

movie review channel category

Travel & Events

Videos about travel, other locations, or other topics related to travel must be uploaded in the appropriate category for this type of subject. This can assist you in reaching the proper audience quickly and increasing your viewership. Therefore, be sure to publish all videos about travel and tourism in the appropriate category.

movie review channel category

Videos for game information, game hacks, game tips, game reviews, live playing, and other relevant topics are included in the gaming category. Videos of game players playing live and finishing levels are highly common these days. Gaming Channels like "PewDiePie" and "Mr. Beast" are among the most popular creators on the network. The aggregate subscriber base of the two independent authors is more than 200 million!

movie review channel category

People and Blogs

Videos about lifestyle, people, blogs, promotions, and other topics fall under the People & Blogs category. Because it fits with practically anything, it is the default category for all videos that are published on YouTube.

movie review channel category

Since it keeps viewers interested and makes the material more enjoyable, comedy is a rather popular area on YouTube, where most YouTubers aim to make their content amusing. There are many channels on the platform, including "Smosh" and "CollegeHumor," that focus on improv and sketch comedy.

movie review channel category

Entertainment

One of the most widely used YouTube video genres on the planet is entertainment. This category typically promotes anything with an entertainment industry focus. This section must contain all content relating to the entertainment business.

movie review channel category

News and Politics

In essence, any content about current events, political discussions, or developing topics falls under the News and Politics category. In my opinion, watching a 5-minute YouTube video of the evening news is far more convenient than spending an hour in front of the TV. Of course, there are major players like CNN and Fox News. However, a sizable portion of YouTube searches is for political commentary.

movie review channel category

How to And Style

Some of the most useful materials on YouTube are how-to manuals. There are tutorial channels available for you, whether you want to watch a YouTube video to learn how to parallel park or how to build a cabin from scratch.

A sizable portion of the specialty is devoted to crafting, and individuals enjoy watching tutorials on how to complete simple tasks. With nearly only brief content, 5-Minute Crafts has a wide audience.

movie review channel category

The category for education covers videos on educational topics as well as tutorials, information guides, learning, and academic classes. Therefore, always check other categories before using this one. If your video is about education and doesn't fit in another area, it belongs in the education category.

movie review channel category

Science And Technology

Any video that discusses or is focused on science, technology, engineering, or mathematics is considered science and technology (STEM). Many YouTubers produce amazing YouTube video content by utilizing their expertise in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

YouTube videos produced by tech channels like "Marques Brownlee," "Mark Rober," and "Michael Reeves," which draw viewers interested in STEM fields, make use of their engineering expertise.

movie review channel category

NonProfit & Activism

Giving philanthropic organizations and significant social movements a forum to share their content is one of YouTube's best applications. In this YouTube category, they can do both-showcase what the charity has accomplished or solicit donations. They produce content where the main goal of the video is to inform viewers of their goals and how you can support them.

movie review channel category

Over time, the variety of YouTube categories has increased. They are so undoubtedly not limited to those mentioned in this article. It's crucial to take note of the kind of information and subjects that the platform's users prefer to see. Additionally, we are aware that different audiences have different preferences. These are the factors that you, as a present or potential channel owner, should consider before launching your initiative.

‘Twisters’: Never Mind the Bad Weather, Here’s Some Movie Stars!

By David Fear

Editor’s picks

Every awful thing trump has promised to do in a second term, the 250 greatest guitarists of all time, the 500 greatest albums of all time, the 50 worst decisions in movie history.

Glen Powell's Dog, Brisket, Was the Star of the 'Twisters' L.A. Premiere

'hit man' star adria arjona wanted to be a pop sensation. she'll have to settle for hollywood it girl, glen powell — bless his heart — just learned that 'date with a cannibal' story he told is fake, ava kris tyson steps away from 'all things mrbeast' amid transphobic attacks, did katy perry release the worst comeback song of all time, watch stephen colbert attempt to explain the 'memeification of kamala harris', john mayall, legendary pioneer of british blues, dead at 90.

Put him next to Edgar-Jones, who gets lost among Mother Nature’s pixelated temper tantrums but comes alive playing against a real human being, and you can feel Twisters edge toward something more interesting than disposable-spectacle content. Even the formidable supporting cast — an eclectic bunch that includes future Superman David Corenswet , Love Lies Bleeding ‘s Katy O’Brien, TV on the Radio singer Tunde Adebimpe, Sasha Lane and Kiernan Shipka — seem to stop what they’re doing and simply observe the crackling energy being generated by the above-the-title names. No amount of falling water towers, flying tree trunks or cars and humans being briskly tossed into the maelstrom can compete with the sight of two actors connecting even when surrounded by bad weather VFX. You’ll probably forget all the hot air that’s supposed to be the 21st century sizzle of this sequel before you’ve gone past the popcorn machine near the exit. It’s the calm before and after the storms that makes you feel like it’s 1996 all over again.

Clever finale to gory, graphic feminist horror trilogy.

Positive Messages

The movie's motto is "I will not accept a life I do not deserve," and indeed, it's mostly about single-minded ambition and drive (with little concern for others who may get in the way) and desire for fame. The time period means that the movie doesn't quite tie into modern-day fame-seeking, but viewers may still make that connection.

Positive Role Models

Maxine is powerful and successful and doesn't take defeat lying down, but she's not someone to be emulated. She resorts to violence and has little compassion for others in her drive to become famous. (She justifies her behavior with the reasoning that she "deserves" fame.) It's a little ironic, as viewers may find themselves rooting for the her to succeed, but it's definitely suggested that her actions aren't healthy in the long run.

Diverse Representations

Majority of characters are women, including main character Maxine (Mia Goth), who's capable of violence and acts largely out of self-interest but is extremely capable and self-reliant. Powerful, feared film director Elizabeth Bender (Elizabeth Debicki) is another strong female character. Giancarlo Esposito, who's mixed-race Black and White, plays Maxine's tough agent; mixed-race performer Halsey and Tongan actor Uli Latukefu have supporting roles. Maxine's best friend is Leon (Moses Sumney), a Black video store clerk who's also implied to be gay (there's a line about how he's the only one who doesn't want to sleep with Maxine) -- but, in stereotypical horror film fashion, he doesn't last long. Michelle Monaghan plays one half of a pair of police homicide detectives; her partner is a man of Cuban descent (as is the actor who plays him, Bobby Cannavale). Most White men are portrayed as villains or buffoons. A character uses the discriminatory term "homos."

Violence & Scariness

Gory corpses, with Satanic symbols carved in their flesh. Lots of blood spatters. Corpse covered with blood-stained sheet. Women are bound, gagged, and held prisoner in a closet, screaming and sobbing. Character is brutally slashed and stabbed with huge knife. A man threatens a woman with a knife; she pulls a gun on him, orders him to strip, and stomps on and brutally smashes his scrotum. Chopped-up body parts in bloody suitcase. With a hand full of splayed keys, a woman repeatedly punches a man in face, leaving bloody wounds. Guns and shooting, with blood spurts and deaths. Head blown to pieces with shotgun. Characters are stabbed in the nose with a switchblade and in the eye with a cross, knocked out with a baseball bat, and crushed inside a vehicle, handcuffed to the wheel; blood pours out of an opening below the door. Women are strangled/ knocked unconscious with plastic bag and threatened with a hot brand. Dogs lick blood from ground. Character imagines that aged, gnarled hands are grabbing her around her throat. Earring yanked out of earlobe. Character grabs video camera, smashes it to the ground. Fake blood effects on movie set. Character has a panic attack. In frustration/anger, a person rips a board loose from a "live nude girls" booth. Woman forces a man to "fellate" the muzzle of a gun. Sexual threat. Fake "severed head" movie prop. Foot chase. References to devil worshippers, serial killers, evil lyrics on rock records, etc.

Sex, Romance & Nudity

Graphic simulated sex (the filming of a pornographic movie) with naked breasts and bottoms, thrusting, moaning, etc. Archive footage of the main character's pornographic film; topless, she sits on someone who's out of frame, grinding and moaning. A woman performs a private dance for a customer behind a window. Woman is asked to show her breasts during audition. Brief scene inside a strip club. Graphic dialogue. A video store has a display called the "Fetish Zone," seen in the background, with whips and other sex toys. Character begins watching the pornographic film Behind the Green Door on VHS (only title screen shown).

Parents Need to Know

Parents need to know that MaXXXine is the third part of a horror trilogy that also includes X and Pearl . Set in the 1980s, it centers on adult film actress Maxine ( Mia Goth ) as she lands her first "straight" role in a horror movie but finds herself stalked by a mysterious killer. It's sly, gory, and lots of fun -- but only for mature horror hounds. Violence is extremely graphic and bloody, with murders and injuries, blood spatters, gory corpses with Satanic symbols carved in the flesh, stabbing and slicing, women in peril, severed body parts, gunshot fatalities, suffocation, a character punched with a fistful of keys, a person smashed in a car crusher, and more. There are also a couple of fairly explicit simulated sex scenes, female nudity (breasts, buttocks), and many references to sex, pornography, and fetishes. Language includes uses of "f--k," "s--t," "bulls--t," "motherf----r," "bitch," "ass," "Jesus," "whore," and more. Characters smoke cigarettes and snort cocaine throughout. What's the Story?

In MAXXXINE, it's six years after the violent events of X , and survivor Maxine Minx ( Mia Goth ) has left Texas for Hollywood. It's 1985, and she's started pouring her energy into getting out of pornography and into "straight" movies. Maxine nails an audition for a horror sequel called The Puritan II , to be directed by the formidable Elizabeth Bender ( Elizabeth Debicki ), but her victory is marred by a series of murders. At first the victims are several of Maxine's adult film-star friends, but then her best pal, video store clerk Leon (Moses Sumney), also meets his end. Private detective John Labat ( Kevin Bacon ) begins hounding Maxine, pressuring her to meet with his mysterious, powerful client, while two homicide detectives ( Michelle Monaghan and Bobby Cannavale ) suspect that Maxine knows more about the murders than she's letting on. With her big break in danger of being sabotaged, Maxine once again takes matters into her own hands.

Is It Any Good?

The finale of an hugely effective trilogy, this frisky, fun slasher movie has extreme gore but also plenty of small gifts for cinephiles and a memorable, close-to-iconic main character. In the opening minutes of MaXXXine , viewers see Maxine absolutely destroy her audition, strut across the studio lot to the tune of "Gimme All Your Lovin'," climb into her convertible, and roar away, as the camera tilts down to her "MAXXXINE" license plate. When she tells another character "I can handle myself," you believe it, especially after she dispatches a would-be mugger dressed as Buster Keaton .

As he did in the previous series entries X and Pearl , director Ti West creates a thoroughly evocative atmosphere; he not only re-creates the 1980s but deep-dives into the era, incorporating Satanic killers, evil rock 'n' roll lyrics, and other concerns of the day into the movie's story and themes. (Movie marquees display titles ranging from the Brat Pack classic St. Elmo's Fire to Jean-Luc Godard's hackle-raising Hail Mary .) The ending of MaXXXine may be a little far-fetched, but at the same time, it's an astute blending of ideas and sensations, adding up to a timely movie about fame, obsession, media, and monsters.

Talk to Your Kids About ...

Families can talk about MaXXXine 's violence . How did it make you feel? Was it exciting? Shocking? What did the movie show or not show to achieve this effect? Why is that important?

Does Maxine "deserve" to be famous? What does it mean to deserve or not deserve something?

What roles does sex play in the story? In the movie, how is filmed sex different from "real" sex?

How is drug use depicted? Is it glamorized? Are there consequences? Why is that important?

How does this movie compare with its two predecessors? How do the three movies come together to tell a larger story?

'Twisters' movie review: Glen Powell wrestles tornadoes with charm and spectacle

movie review channel category

A endearingly cowboy Glen Powell and angry tornadoes do their jobs in “ Twisters ,” though the kinda-sorta disaster sequel with a big heart and bigger wind gusts may not blow you away.

Nearly 30 years after Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt played storm-chasing exes working out their issues amid hazardous weather and flying cows, another “Twister” rolls in with Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones as the leads who flirt with high winds and bad decisions – and just flirt. Directed by Lee Isaac Chung, “Twisters” (★★½ out of four; rated PG-13; in theaters now) is a monster truck of a summer movie, an often-enjoyable ride rocking a “Hell yeah, science rules!” bumper sticker that gets stuck in muddy subplots and looking at the original in its rear-view mirror.

Join our Watch Party! Sign up to receive USA TODAY's movie and TV recommendations right in your inbox

Like the 1996 film, “Twisters” begins with trauma and tragedy: Five years after losing most of her college research team to a super-sized tornado, Kate (Edgar-Jones) has bailed from her native Oklahoma and is working as a meteorologist in New York City. The only other survivor of their group, Javi (Anthony Ramos), shows up bearing new technology that potentially lets them study tornadoes in a way never before possible, plus maybe help some people escape catastrophe along the way.

Uncannily able to “see” a tornado develop – much like Paxton’s character in the first “Twister” – Kate agrees to go back to Oklahoma to help Javi's science squad track funnel clouds during a “once in a generation” outbreak of tornadoes. They’re not the only ones, and the loudest of the lot is a lively, bro-y crew from Arkansas − led by red-blooded man’s man Tyler (Powell) − that livestreams the windswept chaos.

One of Javi’s bunch dismisses them as “hillbillies with a YouTube channel,” and Kate is wary of Tyler’s whole self-confident deal. But she discovers there’s more to him than a cowboy hat and a Cheshire-cat grin, he figures out she’s more than a “city girl,” and her brains and his gumption wind up being a good match as they embark on a game-changing science project. You just know, however, that these gnarly tornadoes aren’t going to make anything easy.

Don’t go looking for a lot of connective thread between the two films (aside from a shared adoration of “The Wizard of Oz”). “Twisters” is more interested in following the first’s formula, a little too much. Having storms that get progressively more calamitous is a welcome carryover: Although the CGI “Twister” cyclones had more personality, roaring like malevolent menaces, the new ones aren’t too shabby when it comes to destruction. There’s a rodeo scene in particular that really drives home that deadly realism.

The competitiveness between Kate and Javi’s brainiacs and Tyler’s hotshots is meant to reflect that of Paxton and Hunt vs. villainous Cary Elwes in “Twister.” It doesn’t make a ton of sense since the latter was two science teams essentially trying to test the same gadget, while the nerds and the daredevils should be able to coexist because their goals are different. The appealing supporting cast in those groupings, including “Love Lies Bleeding” standout Katy O’Brian and new movie Superman David Corenswet , get overshadowed by wide plot turns and the evolving Kate/Tyler dynamic. (Old-school "Twister" fans, keep an eye out for Paxton's son, James, who has a small role as a motel customer caught up in the mayhem of a devastating windstorm.)

While the “His Girl Friday” vibe of Paxton and Hunt fuels the first “Twister,” the opposites-attract rom-com-iness with Powell and Edgar-Jones is less exciting, though they match wits and complementary energies well. After crafting a powerful and intimate Asian family drama in “Minari,” Chung doesn’t seem like the first or even second choice for a tornado-filled pop-science thriller. Yet he knows exactly how to build the blossoming relationship of his leads without being overly cheesy or romantic.

“Twisters” tries to live up to its blockbuster predecessor with spectacle but is best when harnessing its own warmth – and we’re not talking about the very cool fire tornado. It offers up a rousing mindset (as Tyler says, “You don’t face your fears, you ride ‘em”) and, with surprisingly empathetic characters, winds up being more interested in helping the world than wrecking it.

You can do more with your apple pencil than you think, windows account password expired here's how to sign in and turn off password expiry.

If you like movies, the chances are you like YouTube too. On a smaller scale, YouTube gives content creators a place to share their talents with the world .

It's no surprise that movies and YouTube go together well. You can watch the latest movie trailers or even full movies on YouTube . We've previously discussed YouTube channels all movie fans will love , but there are so many more. Let's explore the channels all movie fanatics really should subscribe to.

1. CinemaSins

CinemaSins exists to point out everything you never noticed was wrong in movies. This channel is famous for its Everything Wrong With videos, where the narrator, Jeremy, runs through the entire movie and discusses goofs, plot holes, cliches, logical flaws, or other strange elements. It's a good blend of actual critique and funny asides that makes any CinemaSins video covering a movie you like a must-watch.

You'll find critically acclaimed and panned movies alike in the CinemaSins library. Once you watch a few episodes, you'll get a feel for the inside jokes and tropes that the team hates, such as deus ex machina moments. Years of content make this channel perfect binge-watching material .

2. ScreenJunkies

Best known for its Honest Trailers series, ScreenJunkies is another movie lover's dream. Uploads are split between Honest Trailers, which sarcastically lay out a movie's details and exaggerate its flaws, and other movie-related discussions.

The honest trailer for any movie you love will probably crack you up. Being able to laugh about the ugly sides of your favorite films is great fun. The Movie Fights series and other content make this a well-rounded channel for any movie fan.

3. Screen Rant

Want a bit of everything related to movies? Screen Rant is the channel for you. Consisting of movie theories, bloopers, fun facts, and more, this channel uploads regularly with lots of interesting videos. It's not as focused on one type of content as some of the other channels, but that's okay. Start a playlist here and you're sure to find something entertaining.

4. How It Should Have Ended

Have you ever been disappointed by the ending of a movie? The folks who run this channel seemingly always are. Here, you'll find all sorts of animated sketches with alternative endings for movies. They're all done in goofy fun, so don't expect endings that correct gaping plot holes or anything.

Also on the channel, you'll find behind-the-scenes looks at the videos, movie reviews, and hero swap videos that mix up movie protagonists. Sit back and enjoy the finales that could have been.

5. MovieMistakes

Do you have a critical eye for catching goofs in movies ? If so you'll have a blast with this channel's videos pointing out filming errors and other mistakes. Since these are sometimes on screen for only an instant, you might not have noticed them on your first time through the film.

Admittedly, some of the "mistakes" here are a bit of a stretch, and they aren't as enjoyable as CinemaSins presents them. It's still fun to see how movies with million-dollar budgets can miss details, though.

6. Channel Awesome (The Nostalgia Critic)

The Nostalgia Critic used to have his own YouTube channel, but he's since joined Channel Awesome. You'll find lots of content here -- it's not all related to movies, but the Nostalgia Critic is the star of the show. Running with the tagline "I remember it so you don't have to," the Critic re-experiences older movies to see how well they hold up today .

If there's a movie you love from your childhood but haven't watched in a decade, chances are it's probably not actually that good. Let the Nostalgia Critic walk you through these movies, sometimes with an extra bit of rage -- we think you'll love it.

7. Couch Tomato

With decades of movies in production, it's reasonable to suggest that a plot might have been repeated at some time or another. Watch Couch Tomato's videos, though, and you'll find that this is more common than you might think.

The 24 Reasons That X and Y Are the Same Movie series looks at the similar overarching plot elements of two films. Seeing them side-by-side, it's amazing how alike some movies really are. When you feel the need to lament the film industry , this is the place to do it.

8. Mr. Sunday Movies

If none of the channels mentioned appeal to you so far, Mr. Sunday Movies carries a little bit of everything. It focuses on sci-fi and superhero movies , but features different looks at other movies, too.

You'll find trailer breakdowns that make assumptions based on little bits of information from new trailers, Easter eggs, and movie reviews. Discussions about which series reboot was best and info on canceled movies are also present. Chances are you'll find something that piques your interest here, so have a look through the uploads!

9. YourMovieSucks

Sometimes you just want to laugh at some bad movies. YourMovieSucks exists to show you why bad movies are so awful. You'll find a lot of " movies so bad they're actually good " here, along with mediocre big-budget releases.

It's just as interesting to hear about why a terrible movie fails so greatly as it is to study what makes a great movie such a success. This channel's videos are also a good way to get a synopsis of crappy movies without dedicating time to watching the whole thing.

Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool in Deadpool and Wolverine appearing shocked

Fortnite leaks show what the new Deadpool and Wolverine skins will look like ahead of the new movie, even though they’re already in the game.

The new Deadpool & Wolverine movie will be out in cinemas on Thursday, July 25, in the UK, and Marvel has already collaborated with Xbox to create controllers shaped like the two characters’ bums .

A leak now suggests that the Merc With A Mouth and Logan are not done promoting their upcoming film within the confines of video games .

The leak claims skins of both Deadpool and Wolverine are coming to Fortnite, based on their appearance in the upcoming film – as opposed to the versions that have already been released.

Regular Fortnite dataminer iFireMonkey posted images showing the skins, suggesting a bundle with the two superheroes will be available soon.

The images also show items that come with the skins, such as their weapons, gliders and back bling, including one that is a poster with Deadpool on it hushing you.

Another Fortnite dataminer, HYPEX, posted an image of the skins too, which included the two character’s emotes.

Wolverine’s emote is him getting his claws out, while Deadpool’s is him acting shocked with his hands on his face, as seen below (or in the top image).

This isn’t the first time Deadpool or Wolverine have been in Fortnite, as they were both added in 2020 – February and August, respectively.

It’s not uncommon for movie characters to be added to Fortnite, for promotional purposes, and the first versions of the characters were based more on their comic book incarnations.

On its own, Marvel has had a catalogue of characters made into skins in Fortnite, including Spider-Man, Miles Morales as Spider-Man, Black Widow, Tony Stark, Captain America, Groot, Venom, and many more.

DETROIT (AP) — A massive pipe organ that underscored the drama and comedy of silent movies with live music in Detroit’s ornate Hollywood Theatre nearly a century ago was dismantled into thousands of pieces and stashed away.

The Barton Opus, built in 1927, spent four decades stored in a garage, attic and basement in suburban Detroit. But the towering musical curiosity is being lovingly restored in Indianapolis and eventually will be trucked, piece by piece, to the Rochester Institute of Technology in western New York, to be reassembled and rehoused in a theater specifically designed to accommodate it.

In its heyday, the Barton Opus was able to recreate the sounds of many instruments, including strings, flutes and tubas, says Carlton Smith, who has been restoring the organ since 2020. It also contained real percussion instruments such as a piano, xylophone, glockenspiel, cymbals and drums and could produce sound effects including steamboat and bird whistles, Smith says.

For many moviegoers, the organs — and the organists — were the stars.

“One guy could do it all,” Smith says. “In the big cities, they were literally filling the theaters’ thousands of seats multiple times during the day. They were showing live shows along with the films. It was a big production.”

Image

The Barton Opus enjoyed good acoustics at the Hollywood Theatre, according to the Detroit Theatre Organ Society . The theaters in Detroit at that time, the golden age of the city’s auto industry, were as glamorous as any in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco, according to John Lauter, an organist and organ technician.

“We were such a rich market for moviegoers that the theater owners built these palatial places,” Lauter says. “There were no plain Jane movie houses back then.”

Lauter, who also is the director of the Detroit Theatre Organ Society and president of the Motor City Theatre Organ Society, says the Hollywood Theatre organ was one of the largest made by the Bartola Musical Instrument Co. of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Only three were sold, while the other two were installed in the Highland Theatre in Chicago and the Rialto Square Theatre in Joliet, Illinois.

Of the three, this is “the last one left that hasn’t been altered,” Smith says.

In the decades that followed, televisions began to appear in living rooms across the nation and silent movie houses fell out of favor. The Hollywood Theatre closed in the 1950s, its fixtures were sold and its famed Barton Opus was on the verge of being lost to history.

But in the early 1960s, Lauter’s friend, Henry Przybylski, bought it at auction for about $3,500. Przybylski scrambled to remove the massive instrument, parts of which stood two stories tall, before the theater was demolished.

“He pulled together all of his friends in the winter of 1963,” Lauter says. “The building had no electricity and no heat. They came in with Coleman lanterns and block and tackle.”

They took the organ apart and Przybylski — an engineer and organ buff — transported the thousands of pieces back to his Dearborn Heights home where it would remain, unassembled, for about 40 years.

“He never heard or played that instrument ever,” Lauter says. “He lived a majority of his life owning that thing. He’d roll up the garage door and there would be that console in there. He made it known it was the very best there was.”

Przybylski died in 2000, but that did not spell the end of the Barton Opus’ odyssey.

Steven Ball, a professional organist who taught at the University of Michigan’s Organ Department, asked Przbylski’s widow in 2003 if the pipe organ was for sale.

“I came up with every last bit of cash I could,” Ball says.

But he also put the pipe organ straight into storage.

“This whole project was to see this organ through to safety, until I could find an institution to restore it to what it was,” Ball says, adding that he had always hoped the Barton Opus would end up in a theater mirroring its original home.

In 2019, Rochester Institute of Technology President David C. Munson reached out to Ball, whom he had known since Munson served as the dean of engineering at the University of Michigan years earlier.

“I contacted Steven and asked where we could acquire the best theater organ,” Munson says. “Steven said, ‘Well that would be mine.’”

Ball will donate his Barton Opus to the school, where it will be the centerpiece of the new performing arts center. The theater that will house the organ is expected to open by January 2026. Restoration work on the organ is a little over two-thirds complete, according to Smith.

“The theater is designed to accommodate exactly this organ,” Munson says, adding that the architect, Michael Maltzan, “designed the pipe chambers to have the same dimension as in the Hollywood Theatre. We have all the original plans for that organ and how the pipes were laid out.”

The exact cost of the work hasn’t yet been determined, Munson says, adding, “It’s an investment we’re making, but I think the results are going to be remarkable.”
