PhD Flopper | | | | | (cameo) (cameo) | | 2000 points | For the perk's successor, see PhD Slider . PhD Flopper is a Perk-a-Cola Machine that appears in the Call of Duty: Black Ops Nazi Zombies maps Ascension , Call of the Dead , Shangri-La , Moon , and secretly on Die Rise and Mob of the Dead , as well as in Cell Block and Origins from the WunderFizz Machine . After the player buys the perk, all damage that the player could cause to themselves by explosives and fall damage is nullified. It completely removes splash damage, making the Ray Gun, Mustang & Sally, Matryoshka Dolls or any explosive good for getting out of tight situations, and adds a miniature explosion whenever a player with the perk dives to prone. However, the explosion only occurs if you dive high enough that you would normally recieve fall damage. It instantly kills all zombies within the small radius of the explosion in the earlier rounds and makes crawlers in the later rounds. Any kill you get from the explosion is only 50 points like all the other explosives. A Persistent Upgrade on Buried is based off of PhD Flopper, excluding the negating effects of fall damage and overcooked grenades. Due to the Sliding move replacing the "Dolphin Dive" move in Black Ops III , the perk is completley absent. Substitute Gobblegums serve as replacements, which are Danger Closest, and Slaughter Slide. In the Black Ops III version of Ascension , Shangri-La , Moon , and Origins , it was replaced by Widow's Wine . The perk would later return in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. (PhD) Night-time scene. (PhD) The streets are mean. (PhD) The things I have seen. (PhD), the good, the bad, and the in-between. When you dive to prone, you are surely gonna own, PhD (Flopper)! When you dive to prone, it's gonna shake ya to the bone, all the zombies gonna groan, 'cause of PhD! (PHD) The feelin's growing strong. (PhD) So right that it feels wrong. (PhD) Like the chorus of a song. (PhD) Not short but not too long. Slap your body to the floor, everybody needs some more, of your lovin', your explosive lovin'. When you dive to prone, it's gonna shake ya to the bone, all the zombies gonna groan, cause of PhD! (PhD) (Flopper)! Damn straight. Locations [ ]- Ascension - Near the Lunar Lander "D" (where Frag Grenades are) and close to one of the zombie barriers.
- Call of the Dead - Inside the lighthouse, above the room where the original characters are trapped behind a vault door.
- Shangri-La - Randomly spawns in the mines. Changes places with Stamin-Up , Deadshot Daiquiri , and Double Tap Root Beer .
- Moon - In the bio dome, next to a Mystery Box spawn location.
- Die Rise - Can be seen on one of the floors when falling down/going up the Spawn Room Elevator . It is an unobtainable perk.
- Mob of the Dead - Can be seen on a dock with Mule Kick as an unobtainable perk.
- Cell Block - In the library, where the Olympia is.
- Origins - Can only be obtained through the Der Wunderfizz machine.
Gallery [ ]The logo for PhD Flopper - According to the players, PhD Flopper taste like Prunes and Chemicals.
- Takeo is allergic to prunes, making this his least favorite perk
- In the Die Rise map on Black Ops 2, PhD Flopper is secretly located on the 3rd level when going down the broken cargo elevator (at the beginning). It is physicaly impossible for the player to get to it because there is an invisible barrier around it. It is easier to see this perk machine when going into theater mode going on free camera.
- PhD Flopper makes it return into Black Ops 2 Zombies, in the map Mob of the Dead . As well as appearing by the docks, it is available for purchase in Cell Block , Grief for 2000 points.
- It is a play on the soda Dr. Pepper.
- The jingle is not heard at all in Black Ops II , as the machine is only present on Cell Block, where all the Perk Machines have distorted jingles.
- The radius of the explosion is listed as "300" while the minimum damage is 1000, maximum damage is 5000.

CoD Zombies’ PhD Flopper Perk returns with one major changeCall of Duty: Black Ops I and II fans will remember the PhD Flopper Perk that made Zombies more explosive. It returns in Cold War Season 6, but with a slight twist. CoD Zombies without Perks is a strange concept, but that’s how the adventure started in World at War with Nacht der Untoten. Fast-forward to Black Ops Cold War , and the game will have 10 Perks for players to buy, including the new PhD Perk. Unless you played Black Ops IIII, then maybe players will not know that the Perk has evolved since its PhD Flopper days, and will be introduced as PhD Slider . The first two Black Ops games allowed players to utilize the ‘dive to prone’ mechanic, essentially running and flopping to the ground. The mechanic hasn’t been seen since CoD: WW2, with players only able to slide instead now. - Read More: How to unlock LAPA in Warzone & Cold War Season 6
In typical satirical Zombies fashion, the PhD Flopper Perk encouraged players to get up their speed and do a big dive at a Zombie to create a big explosion. Despite the dive to prone mechanic being AWOL, the Perk is still making a comeback in Season 6 Zombies. Treyarch posted a teaser for the Perk as they begin to hype up the final round-based Zombies map in Cold War – Forsaken . The 9-second audio clip distinctly mentions PhD, and the background also blatantly shares the same color scheme as the Perk too. - Read More: How to unlock .410 Ironhide in Warzone & Cold War Season 6
As we said, PhD Flopper will be returning in its Black Ops IIII form, PhD Slider, and you’ll want to be getting up a full head of steam to cause big damage. For some time now, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players have known that the next round-based map will be the game’s last. They have also known that the final Survival location will feature a new perk, with Treyarch confirming that a classic beverage is returning in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War . Back near launch, the lineup of additional Zombies perks leaked . Both Tombstone and Mule Kick were on this list, with fans able to listen to their jingles long before they became purchasable in the game. However, Double Tap did not end up coming, as the incredibly strong perk would have thrown off balancing based on Treyarch’s comments. As such, it was replaced with Death Perception, a Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 perk that is particularly useful for Outbreak players. RELATED: Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Players Want Randomized Finishers Following this Death Perception change , some were wondering if PhD Flopper would be swapped out with another perk as well. Fortunately, that is not the case. Treyarch not only changed its Twitter profile picture to the perk’s instantly recognizable logo, but the developer also posted its iconic jingle in a separate Tweet. While this is obviously exciting, it is interesting that the perk is using its original design and song, as that would imply functionality similar to its first appearance. The issue with PhD Flopper is that, as its name suggests, it relies on players diving from large heights to trigger an explosion. Because of this, the perk could not fill its original role in games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and Black Ops 4 . Once Treyarch swapped out dolphin dives for sliding, one of the main features of the perk went away. While it could retain the explosive invulnerability, “flopping” was no longer possible. As such, the perk was not seen in Black Ops 3 and was reworked into the less interesting PhD Slider in Black Ops 4 . With this in mind, it will be interesting to see how it functions. While it is possible that it features a flopping ability just like the original, it seems unlikely that Treyarch would add a whole new mechanic for one perk. As such, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players may see it functioning like PhD Slider, but with the classic jingle and design used to evoke some nostalgia. With 5 perk tiers to work with, though, an upgraded version of the perk could end up being very powerful. With more being shown from Season 6’s Forsaken map later today, players may only need to wait a few hours before they get their answers on how exactly PhD Flopper works. Based on the reaction so far, though, the Zombies community is very happy to see it back. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. Cold War Zombies Season 6: PhD Flopper will become PhD Slider - New Effects inboundWill this perk even work with Black Ops Cold War's mechanics? Published: Oct 05, 2021, 9:25 pm Updated: Oct 05, 2021, 9:35 pm Season 6 will be the grand finale for Black Ops Cold War Zombies - and it's going out with a bang! In Season 6 we'll be getting a new round-based Zombies map called "Forsaken", and there's a new Perk-a-Cola on the way as well! Table of ContentsLatest: phd slider tier upgrades revealed, full reveal - phd flopper is phd slider, now, new perk teaser - phd flopper is coming, release date - when does the season 6 update drop. Here's everything we know about PhD Slider, the new perk, and why it isn't called PhD Flopper anymore... Treyarch have released the Season 6 patch notes for Black Ops Cold War , and with it comes some more information on the new PhD Slider Perk for Call of Duty Zombies. Here are the new PhD Slider upgrades unlocked at each tier of the skill: - Base Ability - Sliding into enemies triggers an explosion. The size and damage increase the further you slide before impact
- Skill Tier I - Immunity to environmental damage while sliding
- Skill Tier II - Increased slide duration
- Skill Tier III - Immunity to self-inflicted explosive damage
- Skill Tier IV - Increased slide speed
- Skill Tier V - Falling from a large height will trigger an explosion - the size and damage increases the higher you fall
As you upgrade PhD Slider it will become even more lethal, which will add a ton of fun to the new Zombies content coming in Season 6! We were a bit confused when we saw PhD Flopper was due to return - because Black Ops Cold War doesn't have a diving mechanic - and now we know what the deal is. PhD Flopper is being called PhD Slider from here on out. It'll work the same way, but just with sliding instead! Here's the basic effect of PhD Slider : " Sliding into enemies triggers an explosion. The size and damage increase the farther you slide before impact." You will also be able to upgrade PhD Slider with Aetherium Crystals and unlock self-inflicted damage immunity and bigger explosions. More on that to come soon... Ahead of an official announcement, Treyarch revealed the following "Twitter Voice" on their official Twitter channel. It's a short clip of some Perk Machine audio with the icon associated with Black Ops' PhD Flopper perk. You can check it out below: A lot of people - and one account called DailyPhDFlopper - are excited to see this iconic perk make a return, however... It does raise a few questions on how it will work. Black Ops Cold War doesn't have a "dive feature" - rather, you slide in Black Ops Cold War when you hold Crouch. We don't know whether this Perk will include a new "dive feature" just yet, but Treyarch should confirm how it works soon. Traditionally, PhD Flopper is a perk that negates self-inflicted damage - mainly through explosions - and allows the player to "dive" to create a small explosion upon landing. Something to remove self-inflicted damage would be useful in Black Ops Cold War Zombies - but what about the diving? Black Ops Cold War's new Zombies map is due to launch alongside the rest of Season 6's content at the following times: - 21:00 October 6th - PST
- 23:00 October 6th - EST
- 04:00 October 7th - BST
At the moment, we know that the new Zombies map is called "Forsaken" and that Alex Mason is set to be the Season 6 Battle Pass Operator . Warzone's Verdansk '84 is also going to undergo a few drastic changes ahead of Vanguard's release. Video Game News, Lists & Guides Black Ops 2 Zombies Guide: PhD Flopper PermaperkHere’s how to get the PhD Flopper permaperk in the new Zombies map, Buried. How to Complete PHD Flopper Explosions Weekly Challenge in Modern Warfare 3 ZombiesHome » Call of Duty MW3 » PHD Flopper Explosions Weekly Challenge in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies The first week of Modern Warfare 3 launch gave us a weekly challenge that demands players get 30 kills with PHD Flopper Explosions in MW3 Zombies mode. This new game mode brought in several new mechanics and you might be confused by what you’re supposed to do here. One of them are this soda drinks you can find in loot caches or buy at special festival shops. Once you consume these drinks you’ll get a special buff. PHD Flopper is one of those drinks. Let me quickly explain what you need to do to finish your weekly or daily challenge involving PHD Flopper explosions in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies. How to do 30 Zombie Kills With PHD Flopper Explosions?PHD Flopper is a buff drink that, when consumed, triggers and explosion when you dive to prone. What this means is that you have to run and press and hold crouch, by default, while running to dive into the prone stance. If you drank the PHD Flopper beforehand this will trigger an explosion that damages surrounding enemies. PHD Flopper explosions increase in strength the higher you fall. This means that if you dive to prone from a top of the building the explosion will be massive. Also, while under the influence of this buff, you get no fall damage while diving and your explosion does not affect you. I did this challenge by attracting the attention of a bunch of zombies and climbing on top of a nearby wall. I would than run on top of the wall and press crouch facing the zombie mob that would be bellow me. I would dive into prone among them and explode. It took several tries to get enough to complete the challenge. Do note tthat as soon as you land and explode you need to get up and start running. Otherwise, those zombies you didn’t kill will rip you to shreds. How to get the PHD Flopper Can in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies? You can find PHD Flopper can in finished contract reward portals or in rare loot caches. You can also get it as a reward from one of the first MW3 zombies missions. The easiest way though is to look at the map for an icon with a nuclear sign on it. When you hover over it it should say PHD Flopper. This is a special vendor kiosk that you can buy the buff from for that single deployment. I believe it costs 2000 aether. If you get this soda can as a drop before this daily you might want to exfil with it. This will keep it in your acquisitions and you can bring it with you to a deployment once PHD Flopper Explosions daily/weekly challenge happens again. Similar buff was obtrainable in “Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War”. It was a PhD slider you got from a perk machine. How to Get the PHD Flopper Schematic in MW3 ZombiesThe PHD Flopper is a helpful perk in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies that can deal with crowd control damage as it explodes and hits every enemy nearby. If you want to permanently unlock PHD Flopper and gain easy access to this powerful perk, you will want to find the Schematic. This guide will walk you through how to get the PHD Flopper Schematic in MW3 Zombies, as there are specific steps one must take to unlock it officially. Unlocking the PHD Flopper Schematic in MW3 ZombiesPlayers can get the PHD Flopper Schematic in MW3 Zombies by completing Contracts in a Tier 2 Zone . Completing contracts within these zones makes it possible for the PHD Flopper Schematic to appear as a reward, although it is not guaranteed. If you complete a contract within a Tier 2 Zone and unfortunately don’t receive the PHD Flopper Schematic as a reward, then you’ll have to continue to complete contracts until you do. The good news is that it doesn’t matter which contract you complete; it’s just mandatory that it takes place within a Tier 2 Zone to unlock the PHD Flopper. Best Contracts to Complete for SchematicsThe best contracts to complete while trying to unlock a Schematic in a specific zone are the ones that take little time to complete . Focusing on short contracts will allow you to complete them in quick succession, increasing your chances of obtaining the Schematic in mind. The quickest contracts are Eliminate the Bounty, Outlast, and Deliver Cargo . Related: How to Get Elemental Pop Schematic in MW3 Zombies I recommend focusing on Deliver Cargo contracts as they’re the quickest to complete and relatively easy. The objective of the Deliver Cargo contract is to take an armored vehicle to a specific location, something that should take little time. The location is usually not far at all from where you accept the contract, meaning it’s a short drive. Remember, make sure that the contract takes place within a Tier 2 Zone to create the chance of getting the PHD Flopper Schematic as a reward! If you want to find other Schematics in MW3 Zombies, we have you covered with guides on the Attack of the Fanboy site. Here are all the tiers and upgrades to make this one of the best in the game. Season 6 of Cold War Zombies introduced Forsaken to the community. Along with that, fans were teased with a jingle hinting at the return of a classic perk. While it is a twist put on PhD Flopper to fit in with the game’s sliding mechanic, people are extremely hyped to see the perk return to Call of Duty. Now that the map is out, we have broken down what the perk does, all five of its tiers and how to upgrade it. Cod Zombies how to upgrade PhD Slider and all tiersWith the new season of Cold War, Zombies players now have access to the game’s 10th perk, PhD Slider. This allows players to slide into enemies and trigger an explosion. - Read More: CoD Zombies Forsaken: How to access Nacht Der Untoten & Der Eisendrache
Much like all the other perks in the game, PhD Slider has five tiers that can be unlocked with crystals to make it even stronger. Here is a list of the upgrades you can get: - Tier 1: Immunity to environmental damage while sliding.
- Tier 2: Increased slide duration.
- Tier 3: Immunity to self-inflicted explosive damage.
- Tier 4: Increased slide speed.
- Tier 5: Falling from a large height will trigger an explosion. The size and damage increase the higher you fall.
Each tier gives this perk a new power that is extremely useful especially while attempting the Forsaken Easter egg . Tier 5 gives fans the OG throwback to PhD Flopper, as an explosion will go off when falling from large heights. Pair a maxed-out PhD with at least a Tier 2 Stamin-up and you can survive nearly anything. Stamin-Up makes players immune to fall damage, meaning you can jump from any distance and let off a huge explosion. - Read More: How to play splitscreen in Black Ops Cold War Zombies
