Overview [ ]
The Perk-a-Cola costs 2000 points and features a dark blue and purple color scheme, though primarily purple. Its icon displays a radiation trefoil emitting shock waves. PhD Flopper completely negates self-inflicted damage; however, the player will still groan and suffer temporary movement reduction when falling down from an elevated area. Another feature of this perk is that when players dive to prone from a height from which they would normally take damage, a 7.5 meter radius explosion is created upon landing.
The explosion is very powerful, with a maximum of 5000 damage at the center of the blast, and can kill zombies with one hit up to approximately round 20. Between rounds 20 to 30, PhD Flopper will begin to make crawlers, and on rounds beyond 30, zombies will retain their legs even in the center of the blast. The perk is made from prunes and some types of chemicals. However, as this is an explosive "weapon", it should be noted that the player only receives 50 points per kill, when opposed to the 60 points that are acquired by using a bullet firing weapon, so using a gun would be advised if the player is going to buy something, such as other Perk-a-Colas. This perk does not seem to work when diving right on top of multiple zombies. It should also be noted when "flopping" that landing on a prone player while diving to prone will cause both players to be downed instantly, so one should avoid other teammates while diving.
Due to the sliding move replacing the "Dolphin Dive" move, as well as the Danger Closest and Slaughter Slide GobbleGums which are similar effects to PhD Flopper, the perk is completely absent in Call of Duty: Black Ops III . In Ascension , Shangri-La , Moon , and Origins , it is replaced by Widow's Wine .
In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III , PhD Flopper also negates the effects of fire, gas, and self-explosion damage, and no longer requires the player to dive from a height in order to trigger an explosion.
In Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 , PhD Flopper can be imbued with two out of six possible Augments. Players can equip one Major Augment and one Minor Augment at a time.
Major Augments [ ]
- Gravity MD: Just falling from heights creates explosions.
- DR Ram: Tactical Sprint knocks down and damages base zombies.
- PhD Slider: Sliding into enemies triggers explosions.
Minor Augments [ ]
- Environmentalist: Become immune to environmental damage while sliding.
- EOD Technician: Slightly reduce height and distance requirements for explosions.
- Tribologist: Sliding distance and speed are increased.
Locations [ ]
Call of duty: black ops [ ].
- Ascension - In the room by Lunar Lander Д (closest to MP5K ), with the grenades available to purchase off the nearby wall. Can also be obtained from a Random Perk Bottle by finishing a Space Monkey round without having any machines attacked.
- Call of the Dead - In the abandoned second floor of the multi-story building that branches off of the lighthouse. Can also be obtained from a Random Perk Bottle by killing George A. Romero.
- Shangri-La - Will spawn randomly in the mines. (changes spawn with Stamin-Up , Double Tap and Deadshot Daiquiri ). Can also be obtained from a Random Perk Bottle by killing a zombie monkey as it cycles the power-up after it steals one.
- Moon - Spawns on the far right side in the Bio-Dome near the Mystery Box spawn. Can also be obtained from a Random Perk Bottle by either jumping multiple times on the bounce pads or spawning one with a QED.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II [ ]
- Die Rise - Unobtainable Easter Egg in the first elevator shaft from the spawn room.
- Cell Block - Found in the corner of the library, in the same location as the Olympia . Next to the spawn room in Mob of the Dead.
- Buried - Available as one of the Persistent Upgrades by taking a sufficient amount of fall damage repeatedly (Note that it does not protect the player from over-cooked grenades or fall damage). Not physically available nor is obtained from a Random Perk Bottle, which is achieved by killing all the Ghosts after traversing trough the mansion.
- Origins - Obtained via the Der Wunderfizz machine. Not physically available.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 [ ]
- Blood of the Dead - In the same place found in Mob of the Dead.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III [ ]
- Operation Deadbolt - The Machine can be found randomly in any of the Threat Zones. It can also be purchased from Der Wunderfizz or randomly acquired from a Random Perk power-up.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 [ ]
- Liberty Falls - On the stairway in front of the Liberty Lanes bowling alley, leading to the church.
- Terminus - In the mining tunnels between the docks and the bio lab.
Appearance [ ]
The PhD Flopper machine is very thin, similar to that of Widow's Wine , and is covered in blood. It has a yellow paint job (which later changes to purple) on the front of the machine. There are four levers, from up to down, coloured red, green, white and purple. Under them, a bottle dispenser with a coffee cup in it can be seen. Under that, the words "Flopper PhD" can also be seen. On the top of the machine, the PhD Flopper shield can be seen, with several rods with yellow spheres stick out of it.
Call of Duty Online [ ]
PhD Flopper appears in Cyborg Rising mode of Call of Duty Online , translated as Armor Cola . It is exclusive to the character Sergeant , and is awarded to the player after surviving three rounds.

PhD Flopper
For the perk's successor, see PhD Slider .
PhD Flopper is a Perk-a-Cola Machine that appears in the Call of Duty: Black Ops Nazi Zombies maps Ascension , Call of the Dead , Shangri-La , Moon , and secretly on Die Rise and Mob of the Dead , as well as in Cell Block and Origins from the WunderFizz Machine . After the player buys the perk, all damage that the player could cause to themselves by explosives and fall damage is nullified. It completely removes splash damage, making the Ray Gun, Mustang & Sally, Matryoshka Dolls or any explosive good for getting out of tight situations, and adds a miniature explosion whenever a player with the perk dives to prone. However, the explosion only occurs if you dive high enough that you would normally recieve fall damage. It instantly kills all zombies within the small radius of the explosion in the earlier rounds and makes crawlers in the later rounds. Any kill you get from the explosion is only 50 points like all the other explosives.
A Persistent Upgrade on Buried is based off of PhD Flopper, excluding the negating effects of fall damage and overcooked grenades.
Due to the Sliding move replacing the "Dolphin Dive" move in Black Ops III , the perk is completley absent. Substitute Gobblegums serve as replacements, which are Danger Closest, and Slaughter Slide. In the Black Ops III version of Ascension , Shangri-La , Moon , and Origins , it was replaced by Widow's Wine . The perk would later return in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III.

(PhD) Night-time scene. (PhD) The streets are mean. (PhD) The things I have seen. (PhD), the good, the bad, and the in-between. When you dive to prone, you are surely gonna own, PhD (Flopper)! When you dive to prone, it's gonna shake ya to the bone, all the zombies gonna groan, 'cause of PhD! (PHD) The feelin's growing strong. (PhD) So right that it feels wrong. (PhD) Like the chorus of a song. (PhD) Not short but not too long. Slap your body to the floor, everybody needs some more, of your lovin', your explosive lovin'. When you dive to prone, it's gonna shake ya to the bone, all the zombies gonna groan, cause of PhD! (PhD) (Flopper)! Damn straight.

The logo for PhD Flopper
- According to the players, PhD Flopper taste like Prunes and Chemicals.
- Takeo is allergic to prunes, making this his least favorite perk
- In the Die Rise map on Black Ops 2, PhD Flopper is secretly located on the 3rd level when going down the broken cargo elevator (at the beginning). It is physicaly impossible for the player to get to it because there is an invisible barrier around it. It is easier to see this perk machine when going into theater mode going on free camera.
- PhD Flopper makes it return into Black Ops 2 Zombies, in the map Mob of the Dead . As well as appearing by the docks, it is available for purchase in Cell Block , Grief for 2000 points.
- It is a play on the soda Dr. Pepper.
- The jingle is not heard at all in Black Ops II , as the machine is only present on Cell Block, where all the Perk Machines have distorted jingles.
- The radius of the explosion is listed as "300" while the minimum damage is 1000, maximum damage is 5000.

How to Complete PHD Flopper Explosions Weekly Challenge in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies
Home » Call of Duty MW3 » PHD Flopper Explosions Weekly Challenge in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies
The first week of Modern Warfare 3 launch gave us a weekly challenge that demands players get 30 kills with PHD Flopper Explosions in MW3 Zombies mode. This new game mode brought in several new mechanics and you might be confused by what you’re supposed to do here. One of them are this soda drinks you can find in loot caches or buy at special festival shops. Once you consume these drinks you’ll get a special buff. PHD Flopper is one of those drinks. Let me quickly explain what you need to do to finish your weekly or daily challenge involving PHD Flopper explosions in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies.
How to do 30 Zombie Kills With PHD Flopper Explosions?
PHD Flopper is a buff drink that, when consumed, triggers and explosion when you dive to prone. What this means is that you have to run and press and hold crouch, by default, while running to dive into the prone stance. If you drank the PHD Flopper beforehand this will trigger an explosion that damages surrounding enemies. PHD Flopper explosions increase in strength the higher you fall. This means that if you dive to prone from a top of the building the explosion will be massive. Also, while under the influence of this buff, you get no fall damage while diving and your explosion does not affect you.
I did this challenge by attracting the attention of a bunch of zombies and climbing on top of a nearby wall. I would than run on top of the wall and press crouch facing the zombie mob that would be bellow me. I would dive into prone among them and explode. It took several tries to get enough to complete the challenge. Do note tthat as soon as you land and explode you need to get up and start running. Otherwise, those zombies you didn’t kill will rip you to shreds.
How to get the PHD Flopper Can in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies?
You can find PHD Flopper can in finished contract reward portals or in rare loot caches. You can also get it as a reward from one of the first MW3 zombies missions. The easiest way though is to look at the map for an icon with a nuclear sign on it. When you hover over it it should say PHD Flopper. This is a special vendor kiosk that you can buy the buff from for that single deployment. I believe it costs 2000 aether. If you get this soda can as a drop before this daily you might want to exfil with it. This will keep it in your acquisitions and you can bring it with you to a deployment once PHD Flopper Explosions daily/weekly challenge happens again.
Similar buff was obtrainable in “Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War”. It was a PhD slider you got from a perk machine.

In Ascension, Shangri-La, Moon, and Origins, it is replaced by Widow's Wine. In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, PhD Flopper also negates the effects of fire, gas, and self-explosion damage, and no longer requires the player to dive from a height in order to trigger an explosion.
PhD Flopper has 2 main purposes. One is you dolphin dive and create an explosion. The higher you dive, the bigger and more powerful the explosion. You also take no fall damage when doing this. So you could dive off a big building and make a big damage blow. The second is that you don’t take splash damage up close.
Never knew about the fire thing, it actually makes you immune to fall damage and generates blast on diving down which can kill or maim Zombies, plus your gunshots generate blast effect. Trying to get into zombies more and more... i read that phd flopper makes you immune to hellhound fire.
PhD Flopper is a Perk-a-Cola Machine that appears in the Call of Duty: Black Ops Nazi Zombies maps Ascension, Call of the Dead, Shangri-La, Moon, and secretly on Die Rise and Mob of the Dead, as well as in Cell Block and Origins from the WunderFizz Machine.

PhD Flopper is a Perk-A-Cola in Zombies. Each use costs 2000 Points. This Perk prevents any damage taken from falling great heights or explosives.
I'd happily say that PhD Flopper is a decent perk, especially on BO1 Ascension, however outside of that I personally believe it is pretty pointless.
