Free Online Movie Streaming Sites

You won't need to sign up for anything in order to watch free movies online. You don't need to have a subscription or an account with these sites in order to watch these movies. But the sites don't know who you are. They may require that you enter your birth date to verify that you're old enough to watch movies intended for mature audiences. All the movies should be able to stream without download, and you often can watch in HD movie quality. Use Yidio to sort by IMDB Score or Rotten Tomatoes.

Sometimes, streaming platforms will use free content to entice viewers to explore other content on the platform. Some TV networks, for example, will offer a limited number of episodes of the current season of TV series for free. These episodes are free to watch for a limited time. But if you want to watch entire seasons or older episodes, you'll often have to pay extra or sign up for a paid subscription.

Netflix, too, is increasingly offering access to some of its series and original movies to non-subscribers. This content is free for anyone to watch without a Netflix subscription. Thousands of Free Online Movies

The catalogs of free content on these platforms can be extensive. Tubi offers thousands of free movies and TV shows, all of it available for free, no subscription or credit card required. Vudu has a library of more than 150,000 movies. Many of these movies are available for purchase or rental. But many of them, as well as many complete TV series seasons, are available at no charge.

Peacock, a new service from NBCUniversal, offers hundreds of movies and thousands of TV episodes from the media giant's catalog. And it's all free to stream on the platform's website. Crackle offers an impressive catalog of theatrical movies. And it also offers a library of original series and movies you can only watch on the Crackle platform. The Roku Channel offers hundreds of movie, live news and TV series. Some have complete seasons. All this is free to viewers who use Roku streaming devices.

Free Movies on Streaming Websites

The no-charge content on these platforms is a little different from the free trials offered by many subscription streaming services. The content on Crackle or Peacock, for example, is available without the need to set up an account on the platform. You also don't have to provide any payment information. Free-trial services work a little differently. Many premium streaming platforms, such as Disney+ and Apple TV+, offer free trial periods during which you can watch their content without paying. The same is true of many network streaming platforms such as STARZ or Showtime. The difference is that you'll need to sign up for an account on the platform and provide payment information. You won't be charged a subscription fee during the free-trial period. But if you don't cancel by the time the trial period ends, your account will automatically convert to a paid subscription. You'll be charged the subscription fee.

Keeping Free Movies Online

Of course, there's often a trade-off involved when it comes to watching movies for free. Sites often subsidize their free streaming movies offerings by including advertising along with the films. Movies may be prefaced with an ad or two. Sometimes there will be periodic commercial breaks throughout the movie. The ads are generally as unobtrusive as ads can be. And in the case of TV series, the experience is much like watching an episode on traditional broadcast TV. The ads allow the streaming platform to make money without charging the viewer a subscription fee. They're crucial to keeping the content free of charge. Many viewers find that it's worth a few commercials to avoid paying a subscription or rental fee.

Transfer a copy of your photos and videos to iCloud Photos

You can request to transfer a copy of your photos and videos from Google Photos to iCloud Photos.

When you transfer photos and videos to iCloud Photos, they aren't deleted from Google Photos.

You don’t need to download your photos or videos to transfer them. The transfer happens directly from Google to iCloud.

The transfer process might take between several hours and a few days, depending on the size of the photos and videos being transferred.

This service will be available to Apple account holders in over 240 countries and regions around the world. If the service is available for your account, you'll have the option within Google Takeout.

This service isn’t available for child accounts or Managed Apple ID accounts. You can't import photo and video data to iCloud while Advanced Data Protection for iCloud is turned on for your account.

Before you transfer to iCloud Photos

Turn on iCloud Photos

Turn on iCloud Drive

Make sure that you have enough iCloud storage

If you receive a storage error during the transfer, you can manage your iCloud storage or add more storage. Once you have enough storage, request another transfer. The additional transfer request won't add duplicate photo or video files to iCloud Photos.

Supported file types

You can transfer only photo and video files to iCloud Photos. Other file types (such as Motion Photos or Live Photos, or Memories) aren't transferred.

JPEG, HEIC, PNG, GIF, TIFF, and BMP photo file types and most MP4 and MOV video file types can be transferred.

Photo and video files that can’t be transferred to iCloud Photos, including RAW files, are transferred to iCloud Drive.

Photos and videos are transferred in the same resolution that's made available by Google for export.

How to transfer your photos and videos from Google Photos to iCloud Photos

Go to Google Takeout

Follow the instructions to start an export from Google Photos.

Choose "Apple - iCloud Photos" as the destination to transfer and sign in with your Apple ID.

Tap Allow to share permission with Google to add photos and videos to iCloud.

You can check the status of or cancel your transfer on Apple's Data and Privacy page

When you start a transfer and when a transfer is complete, Apple sends email notifications to the email addresses associated with your Apple ID account.

When your transfer is complete

You receive a confirmation email from Apple that your transfer is complete.

Your photos and videos appear in the Photos app in an album called “Import from Google” with the date of the transfer.

If some of your photos or videos are missing from iCloud Photos, check iCloud Drive for a folder called "Import from Google" with the date of the transfer.

Along with the original photo or video file, its associated metadata (including the file name, description, file type, and location) are also transferred.

If you turn off iCloud Photos during the import, the transfer stops and only the photos and videos that have already transferred appear in the Photos app. To transfer the rest of your photo library, turn iCloud Photos back on and make another transfer request.

There might be a delay between the notification from Google that the transfer is complete and when you receive a confirmation email from Apple.

I didn’t expect to enjoy this app as much as I did. The stories are so intriguing and I was a little shocked to see K-dramas. I do wish that some of the K-dramas weren’t voiced by English actors though. I prefer just reading subtitles. It gets irritating when the mouth and words don’t match. I’m not the biggest fan of the ad situation, but I also don’t mind it either. I wish every episode was 2 minutes long and that there wasn’t a recap at the beginning. I noticed there aren’t many shows but I don’t know how long this app has been a thing so I hope more are to come. Overall I love the app. The acting is cringe at times but not as bad as some reviews make it seem. I can tell there’s a low budget so I wouldn’t expect too much anyway. Plus I feel like bad acting can make shows funnier. Still this app eats every show it puts out. I get so invested off of just a trailer. I feel like the use of adds and coins brings back what it felt like to watch shows on cable TV. Sometimes the anticipation made the show better. I also loved commercial bathroom breaks. At least I’m not waiting for a 1-2 minute clip everyday. I only have to watch an ad.

Normally I do not leave reviews especially negative ones. These shorts are really entertaining and I ultimately enjoy watching them. However, I am very disappointed and upset that each “short” takes up a various amount of your coins. I started out watching every ad to get my coins for the day which landed me just over 230 coins. So I was a bit excited to watch more of the series I have been trying to get through. I figured that I would be able to watch at least 4 to 5 shorts (5 minutes or so of the series for the day) but I didn’t even get that. I was able to watch two which were less then a minute long. Afterwards it says I do not have enough coins. I would give this app a 5 star review if it wasn’t for the fact that somehow the price for each short adjusts based on how many coins you have. On top of that you cannot see the price of how much each episode costs until you are out of coins. Yesterday, the next episode said it was 58 coins. Today I had over 230 coins and was only able to watch two episodes? In other words one episode cost 58 coins and the next one took the rest. It seems like a major scam to get people to really fork out the money for the game without realizing what is going on. If the company fixes the issues then I will come back and update my review. If not my review will stay. Thank you for reading. Again this is not something I do in fact this is the first review I have ever done but I would hate to see people get scammed.

Money Hungry App

This app is a money grab. I downloaded it because I kept getting an ad for one show. I was like I might as well watch it. They prompt you every like 7 words to buy the app or watch more shows. It’s ridiculously expensive for corny shows. It cost more to buy this app then ANY streaming services and the shows are short and corny. I don’t think anyone besides children who aren’t spending their own money would do that. Anyway I watched one show over like a month would watch the ads whenever I was bored enough to do it then I get to the end of the show and they won’t let me watch the last few episodes without paying I can no longer use adds. As if they don’t make money from the ads already. Luckily because the show is corny and predictable I already know how it ends so it is what it is. And it’s $20 a week (which is $100-$120 a month, $1040 a year). not even for unlimited shows you get a certain about of coins that let you watch certain shows. It’s all confusing and a way to take money. The most expensive streaming service I know of hulus bundle with live tv is like $74 a month and that’s 3 services AND live tv. The ads are all over a minute long for less than an minute of content you will be wasting your time if you are using this app. I wouldn’t waste your time with this app. Just watch your corny shows on your normal streaming platform and save yourself the time, energy, and money. You’re not missing anything by skipping this app.

Cartoon Network’s Website Was Deleted. That Should Scare You All.

Warner bros. discovery is deleting some of our most beloved movies and tv shows—and some may be gone forever..

The most remarkable feat that Warner Bros. Discovery CEO and president David Zaslav has accomplished this decade may be his rapid transformation from relatively little-known network executive to name-brand villain of the culture. For this, he can thank such disastrous high-profile decisions as stonewalling the striking writers and actors, crudely stereotyping his properties’ audiences, and tanking much-hyped movies that were all but ready for release—all of which reflected poorly and played out rather publicly.

Lest you be inclined to defend all this as just a hard-nosed boss making tough-but-fair decisions, consider that Zaslav continues to be very, very bad at making money and managing a media conglomerate—just ask the investors who depressed WBD’s stock value to a near-all-time-low valuation of $6.62 per share on Monday. Or look to the company’s loss of its long-held NBA broadcast rights to Amazon, the $9 billion write-down of its other TV assets, and its nonstop waves of steep layoffs. Or even its wildly unpopular move to shutter Cartoon Network’s iconic 26-year-old website, scrubbing an almost historical archive of clips, show episodes, and digital games in order to direct young viewers to sign up for the clunky streaming platform known these days as “Max.”

Nuking a kids’ network’s digital presence is hardly a sin on par with, say, killing Cartoon Network altogether, as was rumored to have occurred last month. Even though Zaslav didn’t go that far, it wasn’t unreasonable for so many to assume he had. Since April 2022, when he finalized the megamerger that fused his Discovery Communications juggernaut with WarnerMedia, Zaslav has repeatedly invited mass criticism for actively degrading and torching so many of the treasured creations that made his media empire such a highly valued asset.

First came the sudden cancellations of already-completed films like Batgirl and Coyote vs. Acme , then the secretive removal of dozens of HBO originals (e.g., Westworld , An American Pickle ) from the HBO Max streaming service—which subsequently received an unholy intrusion of selected titles from Discovery+, the streamer that shuttered just so that HBO Max could just become Max.

Max kept shedding beloved entries from its historic catalog, including large chunks of Sesame Street and Looney Tunes . This continued into 2023 with the erasure of Cartoon Network and Adult Swim classics such as Dexter’s Laboratory and Space Ghost Coast to Coast , along other Max Originals like Game Theory With Bomani Jones , which was soon removed altogether . Later that same year, Zaslav’s mismanagement of the treasured Turner Classic Movies channel spurred Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, and Paul Thomas Anderson to basically stage an intervention .

In fairness, many (though not all) Max Originals are either available on other services, on physical media, or via video on demand. Some other shows from WBD have been licensed to Netflix. Still, in light of CartoonNetwork.com’s demise, it’s worth keeping in mind something key about David Zaslav, who hasn’t made an effective turnaround in valuation or revenue after two straight years of nonstop cuts across all his properties, extending into last month’s CNN layoffs .

It’s worth taking stock of how many of your favorite shows, networks, catalogs, and films belong to Warner Bros. Discovery, because it weighs a ton . In addition to every entertainment behemoth already mentioned, the company once known as WarnerMedia brought TNT, the CW, and DC Comics to the WBD marriage. In turn, Discovery imported its namesake channel, Animal Planet, TLC, Food Network, HGTV, GolfTV, and the Oprah Winfrey Network, among many other names.

Unless you grew up without any electronic screens, you’ve likely seen at least a couple of shows and flicks from any or all of those brands. You probably have a meaningful attachment to those works and thus a vested interest in making sure they remain available so you can share those experiences with your friends and loved ones. If you’re of the nerdier variety, you view all this media as an invaluable resource of important cultural markers. Where would cinema and TV of all kinds—comic, prestige, edutainment, reality, talk, news—be without these rich treasures, and how much would our collective consciousness have suffered in their absence?

Zaslav should understand this better than anyone. He’s had a front-row seat to shifts in media consumption since the fall of communism. He also ushered some of those major changes into being through his role in helping to launch CNBC and MSNBC. He should know the importance of preservation better than anyone, having gauged early on how rapidly physical media was subsuming into pixelated microscreens, and how urgent it was to ensure his brands retain their recognition, familiarity, and quality in the midst of that transition. What better exhibition of that than a rich, thorough catalog made readily available to consumers via a streaming platform?

But this man, to put it gently, couldn’t give a flying fuck. Because, much like Paramount’s decimation of the online MTV and Comedy Central archives, Zaslav’s own butchering of the Cartoon Network website is a cheap ploy engineered to force viewers into signing up for his own increasingly enshittified streamer—and at a time when the internet as we’ve broadly recognized it is rapidly crumbling.

In recent years, we’ve seen once inescapable media disappear from the internet at a frightening rate, whether it’s general-interest blogs and websites closing down (or worse, turning into A.I. slop factories ), popular old browser games losing their adaptability and functionality, pre-Spotify music streamers tanking their servers , social networks collapsing into the void along with all their memories, hyperlinks degrading in functionality, or copyright-flexible artworks from an older internet age getting hit with suits by rights-holders and then being pulled from distribution.

The Internet Archive can only do so much to preserve all of this, especially when the nonprofit is already staving off endless, expensive lawsuits (and making steep cuts to its own selections while at it). The great irony is that modern life and culture’s hapless dependence on a functional internet— CrowdStrike, anyone? —makes it imperative that vast troves of history be copied in some form onto cyberspace; otherwise, it might as well not exist. This goes for a classic movie missing from any digital service or a publication of yore finding a new life and preservation online.

To seal off great works of art behind increasingly paywalled, pricey, and ad-choked streamers is to rob an already overwhelmed public of any actual choice in creative exploration. It’s further maddening when you never know that a given show, movie, or special will even remain on that service. If it does indeed go away, you may not even be able to find it through a physical copy or via some weird black market of cast-offs. No wonder the production company behind Adult Swim’s The Venture Bros. is currently offering a DVD sale of the complete series while the show itself remains in limbo between its recent Max removal and its upcoming Netflix entrance.

This is no way to treat some of our greatest cultural legacies—but it’s inevitably the result when we trust them with the David Zaslavs of the world. We should look at streaming-service erasure as an issue on par with that of greater internet fragmentation and the worsening digital amnesia that results.

It’s only going to get worse, especially as creators rightfully concerned about A.I. apps training on their hard work elect to take their stuff off the digital commons to protect their artistic contributions from cannibalization by the power-hungry networks attempting to supplant them. The data centers lose their higher-quality building blocks , but keep churning along in order to make something more artificial and just plain terrible. David Zaslav will stand by, burning more cash and trashing more titles, only to keep failing, and making our culture—as well as our history—all the poorer for it.

What ‘It Ends With Us’ Says About the Blake Lively Brand

The images onscreen are informed by the actress’s offscreen businesses, making the movie a fascinating study in the uses of star power.

Blake Lively’s hair is like a character unto itself in the new romantic drama “ It Ends With Us .”

Her thick mane shapeshifts with her role, Lily Bloom, a flower shop owner who falls in and out of love with an abusive neurosurgeon. Lively’s hair, dyed a soft ginger, is artfully messy when she gets her hands dirty starting up the store. The camera follows a mass of buoyant curls when she struts into a party dressed to impress the man who will ultimately betray her. When she wakes up post-coitus, her hair is perfectly tousled. When she is sad, it droops as if by magic.

You could say Blake Lively’s hair is a tool she uses to sell her performance, but her performance is also a tool she uses to sell her hair. Those who are impressed with her locks in “It Ends With Us” can learn from her Instagram that she recently debuted a line of hair-care products called Blake Brown . (Brown is her father’s last name.)

In many ways “It Ends With Us” is a brand-building exercise for Lively. Yes, the film, directed by Justin Baldoni, is an adaptation of a popular novel , meant to lure fans of the best-selling author Colleen Hoover , but it also serves as an advertisement for the world of Lively — not just her talent but her celebrity and her other significant role, mogul, making the film a fascinating study in the various forms star power can take.

On the most readily understandable level, “It Ends With Us” makes a convincing case for Lively as an actress. Her particular je ne sais quoi was evident back in the 2007 pilot of “Gossip Girl,” which opened with a tribute to her allure . Her character — Serena van der Woodsen, the rich girl with a troubled past — arrives at Grand Central, back in New York after a mysterious absence, and everyone turns toward her. As she looks around the train station’s vast hall, she looks gorgeous and wistful, every flip of her hair (that hair!) seems imbued with greater meaning.

Like every young star on that prime-time soap, Lively made a bid for a film career. “ Green Lantern ” (2011) didn’t win her a franchise, but it did introduce her to her future husband, Ryan Reynolds. The dark comedy “ A Simple Favor ” (2018), in which she played a martini-stirring psychopath, was a surprise box office success and garnered a fervent enough fan base to earn a sequel. But Lively seemed to struggle to find her niche in movies, and while she received some praise for performances in the romance “The Age of Adaline” (2015) and the survival thriller “The Shallows” (2016), nothing propelled her to the next level of fame on the big screen.
