Making a video presentation: FAQs

Your answers to the most frequently asked questions about making a video presentation.

How do I make a video presentation for free?

It’s hard to make a video presentation for free, because free video makers have limited features that usually aren’t geared toward professional presentations. Your best bet is making a presentation during a free trial with a leading video presentation maker. Most people quickly realize purchasing a subscription is worth the money.

How do I make a video out of a presentation?

Not all online video makers are geared toward making a video out of a presentation, so it’s important to use one that focuses on making videos for a professional setting. Look for features like: templates and scenes geared toward the business world; video branding capabilities; an easy-to-use workflow.

How do I make a narration video presentation?

There are three ways to make a narration video presentation.

  • Record narration separately and sync it to your presentation.
  • Upload first-person video footage. Merge it with your presentation.
  • Use a video presentation maker with in-app voice-over and recording features. (This is the easiest way to make a narration video presentation.)

How do I make an animated presentation?

Making an animated presentation from scratch is difficult unless you have advanced skills. Your best bet is to find a video presentation maker with a library of animations you can add to your presentation. Look for an online video maker that offers unique animations geared toward a professional setting.

4 must-have tips for making video presentations

Creating a video presentation is easy with Biteable. And it’s even easier if you follow these best practices.

Have a goal in mind

Every great video presentation starts with a goal. What are you trying to accomplish? Maybe you want to share a new idea with your colleagues. Maybe you want to report on important company metrics. Or maybe you want to do something else entirely.

It’s incredibly difficult to make a video presentation that moves the needle until you define exactly what your presentation aims to achieve. Figure that part out and the rest becomes much easier.

Choose a proven template

Now that you know what your presentation aims to achieve you can pick a template that fits. You can create your video presentation from scratch, but using a template as a starting point gives you guide rails for tempo and pacing, plus a proven structure designed by pros.

Biteable video presentation maker has plenty of template options geared toward a professional setting, plus hundreds of extra video scenes and animations to build out your video presentation as much or as little as you like.

Use animations that underscore your message

One of the biggest advantages of video presentations over something static like a PowerPoint is the presence of motion. Without even realizing it, your audience will remember the information better simply because video is a multimedia experience that combines movement, sound, and visuals. To make the most impact, choose your animations wisely and use movement in a way that underscores your key points.

Are you presenting on the massive growth your marketing team achieved? Use a graph showing upward movement to drive the point home. Do you have one key point you’re trying to make? Use animation to circle your text or arrows that point at your most important information.

(All of this is easy to do with the video scenes available in Biteable.)

Keep it short and sweet

The length of your video presentation matters. Too short and you won’t be able to convey enough information. Too long and your audience will tune out.

There’s no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to video presentation length. But in general, 1-2 minutes is the sweet spot for making a video presentation that holds attention while still getting all the important information across.

You’d be surprised how many details you can share in this amount of time. A 15-minute live presentation can easily be condensed into one or two minutes if you hone your message to focus on the key details.

Brand your video

This is probably one of the most important — and most overlooked — parts of creating a successful video presentation. You’d never create a PowerPoint with erratic, off-brand colors. Making a video presentation is no different.

It’s a subtle change, but it gives off a big signal that you are polished and professional, and that you and your video presentation mean business.

Take advantage of the unique branding feature in the Biteable video presentation maker to easily apply your colors and logo to your entire presentation.

8 Steps to Creating a Video Presentation

What is a video presentation, what makes a good video presentation, step #1: plan and strategize, step #2: organize your content, step #3: log in to visme and choose a template, step #4: input your content into the slides, step #5: add animations and transitions, step #6: add audio to your presentation, step #7: review and edit, step #8: download and share.

A video presentation is a presentation that can be shared and viewed as a video. Technically, for a presentation to be a video presentation, it must be an MP4 or MOV file type.

A video presentation can be shared online on YouTube, Vimeo and other social media platforms . The best part of a video presentation with audio is that you can share it widely without the need of being there to present the information in person.

Even a live presentation can be improved with a video slideshow. Simply give a live introduction during your webinar or summit, and then play your video presentation to the audience.

A video presentation becomes even more valuable and high-quality when you add audio to it. For example, adding a music clip or a narrated voiceover can do wonders to help you get your message across and leave a lasting impact.

A good video presentation will capture your audience’s attention until the very end.

When it comes to creating a video presentation, there is no definite checklist as to what constitutes a good video presentation. But there are some things you can do to make sure that yours is good enough to keep the viewer engaged.

For example:

  • Think of your presentation as a video from the very beginning.
  • Take the time to create an outline or storyboard of your slides.
  • Make sure the information flows from one slide, or scene, to another.
  • Preview your presentation as you put it together, making sure it flows well.
  • Add animations and motion graphics only if they bring visual value.
  • Stay balanced with animations and transitions throughout the scenes.
  • Tell a story to improve content retention.

Using the tips above, you’re well on your way to creating a video presentation that is sure to make an impact.

Ready? Let’s get started with a step-by-step tutorial!

If you prefer watching over reading, here's a short video tutorial on how to create engaging presentations in Visme.

how to make a animated video presentation

For any successful project to be a success, including your new video presentation, you must plan and strategize. You and your team need to know the purpose of the video presentation before you even start putting together content or visuals.

Because you need to know the reason, the why, behind the project. That way, the creation process will reflect those goals and take you in the right direction faster.

For example, if you want to create an explainer video about your new product line, do you want the goal to be brand awareness or sales, or both?

If it’s sales, then the messaging and visuals must be created for that purpose. If it’s awareness, then you can take a different approach at how to portray the new product line.

If you want both, then you can do a bit of both and tell a story about the product that explains how it’s made and how it will improve your customers' lives.

Questions to ask before you create a video presentation.

Here are the most important questions to ask yourself and your team before you create a video presentation:

  • Why do you need a video presentation?
  • Who will watch this video presentation and where?
  • What are you planning to convey?
  • What story are you telling?
  • Who do you want to convince, of what?
  • How would you like the audience to feel when seeing your video presentation?
  • Will it be in-house and private or public for the world to see?
  • How can your company or brand sound like an expert in the topic?
  • Do you want the audience to engage when they are done watching?
  • Do you need a voiceover or maybe a music track will be enough?
  • Is it necessary to hire voice talent or maybe a presenter you can film?
  • Will you need to write a video script or not?

Write down a list of goals for your video presentation and make sure they are on-hand during every step of the process. Use these goal-setting worksheets and templates to get started.

Every person involved in the creation of the video needs to know about the purpose, goal and plan at all times — from stakeholders and designers to content creators, marketers and social media managers.

Here's a sample plan template you can use to keep up with your project goals, target audience, tactics and more. Share it with your team to help everyone stay on the same page.

how to make a animated video presentation

Customize this template and make it your own! Edit and Download

Now that your team is on board and you know the purpose of your video presentation, it’s time to get organized.

This is a step with more value than you can imagine. In fact, it should be an un-skippable step to every visual project you create, along with the first step of planning and strategizing.

Start by organizing all the content for the presentation into a folder on your desktop. Include all the graphics, photos, video clips, audio bites and any brand assets. Create a document with all the written content and make notes on what the audio will be.

  • For a voiceover, draft a script.
  • For music, choose the perfect track.

With the written content, draft a simple outline or storyboard. For a video presentation, in particular, you should try a storyboard.

This step is especially important if you have stakeholders invested in seeing the final product and want to see the process.

How to create a storyboard in Visme.

It's easy! Use one of the Visme storyboard templates to put one together.

Remember, storyboards don’t need to be too detailed. The purpose of making one is to give an idea of what will be created. Don’t invest too much time in trying to perfect it.

For example, here is a broad outline for a regular presentation with sections:

  • Slide1: Title and Subtitle
  • Slide 2: Introduction - Table of Contents
  • Slides 3: Section 1 Title
  • Slides 4-7: Section 1 content
  • Slide 8: Section 2 Title
  • Slide 9-11: Section 2 content
  • Slide 12: Summary or Review
  • Slide 13: Conclusion and Closing

If your presentation doesn’t have defined sections to separate the content in, choose a good flow from one slide to another . For example:

  • Chronological Order
  • Problem and Solution
  • Before and After
  • Hero’s Journey progression

Browse presentation templates in Visme! Create Now

Now that you have a good idea of the purpose of your video, an outline or even a storyboard, it’s time to put it all together.

Log in to your Visme account and select a starting point for your video presentation. This could be:

  • One of the four presentation themes with hundreds of slides and layouts to mix and match.
  • A full-scale pre-designed presentation template with animation effects.
  • One of our animated video templates.
  • A previously created and imported PowerPoint presentation.
  • An existing Visme slideshow without animation, video or audio.

Use your outline or storyboard to set up your slide order in the editor. Make sure you have all the slides you need to fit your content.

how to make a animated video presentation

Now, it’s time to add the content to your slides. If you are starting with a blank canvas, you can use content blocks to help you layout the content in balanced compositions.

When adding the content to your slides, remember that people don’t want to read slides on videos. Keep the text to a minimum and use more visuals instead.

If you’ll be using a voice over for the online video presentation, then you’ll need hardly any text on the slides apart from titles and section titles.

For complementary visuals like images and backgrounds, look through the library on the left side menu of your editor. It’s also likely that you have a selection of images from your company that you want to use in your slides. Upload them to your library.

Add some uniqueness to your images by placing them inside frames or cropping them to fit next to colored shapes and sections.

For backgrounds, you have lots of choices — from full colors to gradients to animated and video backgrounds. Try photographs with filters for a subtle background that doesn’t compete with the foreground elements.

You can also add videos inside your video presentation, either uploaded or with a link to YouTube, Vimeo or Wistia. We suggest you use short videos in this case so that your final project isn’t excessively long.

Do you know how to make a video presentation that is impactful and fun to watch?

Just add animations and moving elements!

Visme comes with built-in with the following animated assets:

  • Animated icons
  • Shapes and lines
  • Animated illustrations
  • Animated characters
  • Special effects
  • Animated gestures
  • Animated charts and data widgets

It’s time to bring it all to life and go from regular static presentation to video presentation.

At this point, you might already have some animated elements in your slides, maybe some animated icons or animated characters. Before you go ahead and animate anything else, review all the transitions between slides.

It’s important to understand that the animated elements, embedded or background videos, and audio you use must all match the transition between slides.

This is the magic sauce for transforming a normal presentation into a video presentation.

Let’s look at all the animation and transition options in your Visme dashboard and how you can use them to your advantage.

Animated characters, icons, illustrations and special effects.

All these elements have options to select the number of repetitions of their action and the speed. The higher number of repetitions you choose, the longer it will take to finish its action. The speed will make the action faster or slower. You can toggle both to find the perfect combination.

The completed action of any of these animated elements will override a timed transition. The transition will wait until the animation is finished to go ahead and start. You can adjust the final length of your animated elements by previewing your slide and taking note of its length.

Additionally, you can customize the poses that the characters portray and also the color of their clothes and skin. These deep customization options will help you stay on brand when creating your video presentations.

Stock videos and video backgrounds.

visme unleashed - stock video library

Videos you add from the editor or import from your computer have the option to trim to a desired length, loop or autoplay.

Alternatively, use video as a background. Stretch it to fit the entire slide and position it behind all the other content. The edit settings are the same as a regular video.

Visme offers a large selection of quality video clips to use as backgrounds or as complementary visuals. it's also easy to upload your own video to the library.

Animated backgrounds.

These loop on their own and are ruled by the transition settings. Animated backgrounds stand out so make sure you are keeping a balance with the elements in the foreground.

Manual animations.

Animations can be added to everything on your slide, including the videos and animated icons. You can tweak the settings to control when elements enter and exit the slide.

There are lots of options for these animations and you can time them using the animation settings. Try to keep animations on the same slide to a minimum so they're not distracting.

Smooth transitions.

Transitions can be added slide by slide or to the entire presentation at once. If you don’t go into the transitions menu at all, Visme will apply a staggered enter from the side that already looks great for presentations that you have to click on to continue to the next slide.

For video presentations, you’ll need to edit your transitions to happen automatically according to what is going on in your slide.

In general, you can make the transition happen after a specific number of seconds but if you have an animated element or audio clip that lasts longer, the transition won’t happen until the longest one has finished its action.

For slides with added video, make the transition happen either when the video ends or at a calculated time after the video has ended. Both are available options in the transition settings.

Transitions can be set in different styles, slide from the side top or bottom, or a simple fade or zoom. For a balanced composition, use the same style of transition throughout.

But if you want to get creative, use different transitions to design a more creative flow. Just make sure you don’t go overboard.

how to make a animated video presentation

In the section above, we already talked a little about how audio works together with the transitions for a seamless video experience.

Now, let’s take a look at how to add audio inside Visme.

As you work on your video presentation, you might feel the need to work on animations, transitions and audio at the same time so that it all fits together in the best way possible.

To add audio to your presentation in Visme, you have several options:

Adding audio in the background.

Adding audio to each slide., tweaking the audio inside video clips., adding a voice over or narration..

how to make a animated video presentation

To add a background sound clip, click on the top-left hamburger menu and select “Publish Settings”. This is where you can tweak your project's main settings. Click on the third tab "Sound."

Toggle background music on to release a dropdown that shows the options inside the editor or any .mp3 file you’ve added to your library.

Adjust the volume of this clip and choose if it will loop, fade in or fade out. You can also choose if the background audio will play at a specific point in time.

Any background audio will play under all other audio or video you add to the presentation. So make sure these are balanced and make sense together.

Inside the editor, you have the option of adding individual audio clips to each slide.

Choose from any inside the editor or upload your own. You’ll have the option to trim the length of the audio, its volume and if it loops or fades in and out.

Similar to the background audio, you can choose to start at a specific time during that slide’s progression.

When you add a video file that has audio in it, you can choose to keep the audio or turn it off. The option is inside the video settings in the “muted” tab.

You can add voiceovers to your video presentation in three different ways;

  • A track in the background
  • An imported clip to each slide
  • Recorded over every slide using the Visme voiceover recording feature

Whichever you choose, remember to calculate all the play lengths along with the transitions so that everything flows well.

Now it’s time to review everything and make sure it’s perfect.

First up, do some proofreading of your text to fix any typos or grammatical issues. Make sure all the text is in the correct font and size to stay on brand and maintain a visual hierarchy.

Use the Present button and watch the entire video presentation from start to finish. Take notes along the way of things you notice that need a fix or edit.

If you want to see what the final project will look like to your audience, download a video version and watch it on your video player. Once again, take note of any necessary edits.

how to make a animated video presentation

You’re done! That was easy, wasn’t it?

It’s time to share your video presentation with its intended audience. Click on the download button and select the MP4 file option.

If your video is especially long or full of features, it will take a bit longer to download. We’ll send you an email when it’s ready so you don’t have to watch the progress bar.

Go get a coffee or take a break for a job well done!

Once downloaded, upload your video to YouTube, Facebook or any of your favorite social media platforms.

If you created the video as part of a larger Visme project, upload it back into your editor. Use your video as part of an interactive report, or for your website, landing pages or email campaigns.

How To Create Cool Animated Presentations In 5 Easy Steps

You’ve probably seen one of those really cool animated video presentations on YouTube and thought to yourself: “Wow I want one of those explainer videos !” But you soon find out that it’s too expensive, and doing one yourself is just impossible because there is no tool out there that lets you do it…right?

Well, you’re wrong! Now you can Do-It-Yourself!

Once you have learned the five steps to “creating an awesome Powtoon”, you will be able to create your very own cool animated “presentation-cartoon” ( Powtoon ) using Powtoon‘s awesome online animation software.

start using powtoon cta

Functionally it’s as easy as creating a PowerPoint or Keynote presentation, but there are a few new things that you need to consider — (after you finished reading this article please refer to our video tutorial: How To Write an Addictive Script )

How to Create an Animated Presentation

So here are the steps to create an awesome 90 seconds product demo clip using our online video maker :

Step 1: Script

You need to create a script that describes what will happen in every “scene”.

We recommend working with the following simple guidelines to create exciting presentations with an engaging and captivating story:

  • Identify the problem are you or your product addressing .
  • How does the frustration manifest itself? (Expensive, labor-intensive, annoying, etc…)
  • Aggravate problem (for example show what usefulness other solutions are there)
  • What is your solution, what are its benefits and why is it better?
  • CALL TO ACTION: Test us – Try us – Buy Us.

Remember that when reading your newly created script without pauses, 90 seconds corresponds to around 225 words! So before finalizing your script, please make sure to do a word count (and if I can give you another piece of advice: SHORTEN THE SCRIPT ONCE and then SHORTEN IT AGAIN).

Try this animated presentation video template!

Step 2: Voiceover Guide / Background Music

You need to either choose a background track for your music or record a voiceover. This means that you need an MP3 file of the TEXT PARTS of the script read out as they will appear in the Powtoon . Don’t worry, this does not have to be a professional voiceover, it can just be something basic for now, you are doing this mainly as a TIMING guide.

So you can do this yourself (record yourself in http://audioboo.fm/ ) or use an online text to voice software . You can always hire a professional voiceover artist later to give your Powtoon a really polished sound, this can make a really big difference for a relatively small investment.

Once you have your voice-over guide, all you need to do is upload it into Powtoon and you will now be able to add the visuals to the sound.

powtoon video play button graphic

Step 3: Dividing the Slides

Now you can start creating visual content according to the script. Each slide represents a scene and an idea as outlined in the script. Try to keep your slides short, this way you can put a lot of interesting visuals in your Powtoon project.

If you have a voiceover, you can make some of the words come to life using Powtoon’s animated options by making them appear in time on the screen. You don’t need to have each word that appears in the script on the stage but rather chose important words to emphasize certain points.

Step 4: Populate the Slides

Now it’s time to include additional features and make things fun such as colors, graphics, background, animation styles, props, images, and characters to your slides. It’s important to convey the message together with the graphic objects and as little text as possible, so the audience doesn’t have to sit there reading all the time (unless this is the effect you’re after) and doesn’t get overwhelmed with information.

For example: If the problem makes the main character sad, it is enough to display the main character in a sad pose without adding any text.

powtoon editor example image

Step 5: Timing

Now you have to time it all. This is the last step and is actually one that can have a significant effect on the “professional” look and feel of your final result.

The Powtoon timeline is designed to allow you to easily adjust the appearance and timing of all the elements on the screen. You can now listen to the voiceover running in the background and make sure that all the visual elements reflect what you hear. The more accurate you get this; the more awesome the final result!

How to Make Animated Videos in Under 10 Minutes | Step-by-Step Guide

  • how to make animated videos

how to make a animated video presentation

Animations have come a long way from the playing of sequential images in the 1800s to their advancement as a prominent video style today. And naturally, the method of creating animations has also evolved through the years – going from hand paintings on celluloids to automated illustrations on design softwares.

But even with all the changes, creating animations can still feel like a daunting task. And the complexity of animated videos is one of the reasons why most brands don’t easily incorporate animations into their video marketing strategy.

That is why in this article, we will tell you how to make animated videos in under 10 minutes using InVideo so that you can leverage their mass appeal for growing your brand or business.

Here’s what’s covered in this article:

- How To Make Animated Videos That Engage Your Audience - How To Make Animated Videos in 3 steps? - 3 Examples Of Animated Videos (And What Makes Them So Great)

Before we get to the editing part, let’s understand what makes an animated video more engaging

How To Make Animated Videos That Are Engaging For Your Audience

If you look at any good animated video, you will find a few common denominators that make it appealing. A great animated video is story-focused, crisp, and has actionable information viewers can benefit from. Here are a few points to remember while  creating animated videos:

- Keep it short and fun: Animated videos that are between 45-90 seconds seem to have the highest engagement rate. This is a sweet spot you want to hit with your videos in order to cover all important points while preventing the viewers’ attention from dwindling.

- Use attention-grabbing visuals to engage: Think of the last animated video you watched that had an impact on you. Chances are that it was visually stunning. The more high-quality your animated visuals are, the more likely they are to keep the audience hooked and build a connection with them.

- Add subtitles: This tip is particularly for animated videos you create on social media. Since a large percentage of the audience on social media watches videos without the sound on, adding subtitles helps prevent viewers from scrolling past your videos if they’re watching a video on mute.

Now that we understand how to create highly engaging animated videos, let’s learn how to make animated videos and edit them using InVideo’s online editor .

How To Make Animated Videos In 3 Simple Steps?

As a brand, while making an animated video for the first time, you might run into some roadblocks such as focusing too much on making a sale and not enough on the story, not scripting your videos properly, or simply not knowing what kind of animated video to make.

To help you prevent these mistakes, before you even make them, w e’ve formulated a simple 3-step process for you to create thumb-stopping animated videos in a few minutes.

1. Choose A Video Style

The video style depends on your audience, the message and your product or service. It’s always advised to pick your video style before you begin writing the script so that you can structure information accordingly. For example, if you want to highlight statistics about your brand’s growth, an infographic animated video would make sense. Choosing this style will also help you structure your information for better flow in the video.

So, what are the different styles of animated videos? Let’s take a look:

- Animation infographic videos: Animation infographics break down complex ideas and highlight important information by using imagery, GIFs, graphs and charts.  Organizations wanting to convert large volumes of data into a story utilize infographic videos as they hold the attention and interest of the viewer better than other types of animated videos.

- 2D animation videos: These types of videos are most popularly used by educational channels to explain the benefits of a product or service as it helps the viewer grasp information with ease. Since these videos also tend to have high engagement, they help boost authority, brand visibility and also SERP rankings.

- Typography animated videos: These are also known as kinetic typography videos and are created by manipulating the appearance of text – often using different fonts, speeds, and colours to create an impact. Typography  videos are impactful because they deliver information and engage the viewer even when their video is muted.

These are usually used by brands to make a bold statement or focus the viewers’ attention to a few important problems the brand can solve. Take this video by Google for instance, that uses typography and creative design to promote black-owned businesses.

2. Write A Script

The video script is a blueprint containing all the scenes and dialogues for your animated video. It helps decide your visuals, estimate the video length, and check if the video is conveying the intended message to the audience

Creating a script for your animation video can be daunting, but there are the four most important things you need to keep in mind while writing a script for an animated video:

- The structure: You want the structure to be logical but not drab. Think of weaving a narrative that emotionally connects with your audience. This can be achieved by introducing your audience to a problem, making them experience what it would be like to face the problem, and then place your product/service as the solution.

- The characters: Defining and creating solid animated characters is the key to writing a compelling script for an animated video. You want to create characters that reflect the core thought processes and beliefs of your audience in order to help them build a connection with them. For this, it’s first imperative to understand what audience you’re serving and then creating audience personas around their core beliefs. For instance if you have a cereal brand that targets 5-10 year old kids, having characters that appeal to that core demographic will help you build a better connect.

- Call to action: When you’re ending your animated video, hopefully your storytelling helps build an emotional connection with the audience, allowing them to view themselves in the characters. This allows the message to take hold and that is when you want to use the call of action so that people are most likely to take action. The best calls to action are short and not very salesy.

- Video length : How your narrative pans out will also depend on how much time you have to showcase your story. Keep in mind that while shorter videos tend to work best for most social media platforms, if your story is very compelling, even longer videos can work in your favour. The length of your videos and therefore your script will also depend on the platform you plan to share the video on. Keep a rough timeline in mind when you begin writing your script so that you don’t go way off track.

Now that you know how to create a compelling script for your animated video, let’s learn how to make animated videos using InVideo’s online editor.

3. Create And Edit Your Animated Video

Step 1: Sign up or   Log in to your InVideo account and type ‘Animated video templates’ in the search bar to look for an animated video template to use. Once you’ve found it, simply select the aspect ratio you want your video to be in and then click Use This Template.

Step 2: Once you’re inside the editor, click the Upload media button to add your images to the editor. Next, replace the image on the template with yours by dragging the selected image onto the canvas and clicking Replace to switch the image. Alternatively, you can also choose media from InVideo’s stock library.

Step 3: To edit the text on the template, double-click on the text you want to replace and type the new text. Do this for all the scenes.

Step 4: Next, you can use the stickers in InVideo’s library to create the animations. To do this, click Stickers in the left menu panel and search for a suitable sticker. And then click on it to place it in the video. You can also drag the sticker to reposition it and increase or decrease its size.

Next, add animations to your stickers by clicking the Animate on the top left of your canvas. Select the animation effect you want and also choose your duration.

Once you’ve arranged your stickers and added the animations, this is what your video should look like:

You can also add an animated call-to-action to your videos. This tells the viewer what to do after they’ve watched the video.

Step 5: Now to add audio to your video, first check if you like the music that came with the template. If not, just delete it by clicking the Edit button and choosing Delete.

If you already have a song you’d like to add, then upload it to the editor by clicking the Uploads media button. Once uploaded, click on the three dots and choose Add as Background Music.

You can also use InVideo’s   stock music library to add a soundtrack to your video . Click the Music button at the left side panel and select the audio that goes best with your video. Click the + to add the audio to your scene.

To adjust the volume of the audio, click the Edit button and select Volume And Fade option.

And if you plan on adding a voiceover to your animated video later, you want to reduce the volume of the background song to about 10% so that it doesn’t overpower the voiceover.

Step 6: Next, to add a voiceover to your video, you can use the automated text-to-speech feature or record your voiceover directly on InVideo.

To add an automated voice over, click the Automated Text to Speech button. Type in your text in the text box. Choose the language and voice and click the Generate VO button.

In order to record your VO, click the Record Voice over button and use your microphone to record the voice over for your video. Once you’ve recorded the VO, click Add to add it to the video.

Step 7: Once you’ve added the images, audios and voice over your video is ready to share! Click the Download & Share button. Choose the resolution and click Export .

3 Examples Of Animated Videos (And What Makes Them So Great)

Now that we’ve understood what makes a good animated video and how to create them ourselves, let’s take a look at some of the greatest animated videos made by brands to understand what it is they did right and how we can learn from them.

Here are 3 examples of great animated videos by different brands:

This animated video explains how anyone outside and within the Slack workspace can schedule meetings in minutes with the Slack Connector.

Within one minute, Slack gives you a reason to try out the tool by assuring you that you can stay organized and be safe from external threats through its various features. So, users know what their new tool does and can check it out right away. The crisp narrative and the clear voiceover prevent the audience’s attention from wavering.

2. Uber Eats

Uber eats has used the app interface as animation to explain how their app works for restaurant managers.

They outline the benefits of using their app- track missed orders, get reviews according to category, etc. that save the time and effort of a restaurant manager. The product explanation is tied to the benefits of the app and this makes downloading it a no-brainer.

3. Bravo Pay

Bravo Pay’s animated video begins with the problem of cashless payments affecting the livelihoods of drivers, waiters, etc. as most of them are tipped in cash. Adding animation to your presentations can grab attention and make them more engaging. GIFs are a fantastic way to achieve this, allowing you to incorporate eye-catching visuals. In this post, we will show you how to add a GIF to PowerPoint . This way, you can engage and entertain your audiences like never before! So, if you’re ready to add humor to your presentation, keep reading this!

How to Add a GIF to PowerPoint

Part 1. Can You Add GIFs to PowerPoint

Part 2. how to add a gif to powerpoint, part 3. where do you get gifs for powerpoint, part 4. gif doesn’t play in powerpoint, part 5. faqs about adding a gif to powerpoint.

Let us first answer the common question: can you add GIFs to PowerPoint? Well, if you’re wondering if it’s doable, the answer is YES! You can definitely add GIFs to PowerPoint presentations. They’re a great way to add humor, personality, or visual interest to your slides. In actuality, they function just like any other image file. For good measure, you can incorporate GIFs into your presentations by searching through the web or uploading one from your local file.

PowerPoint’s Supported Formats:

  • • Graphics Interchange Format (.gif)
  • • MPEG-4 Video (.mp4)
  • • Windows Media Video (.wmv)
  • • Joint Photographic Experts Group File Format (.jpg, .jpeg)
  • • Portable Network Graphics Format (.png)
  • • Tag Image File Format (.tif, .tiff)
  • • Device Independent Bitmap (.bmp)
  • • Windows Metafile (.wmf)
  • • Enhanced Windows Metafile (.emf)
  • • PowerPoint Picture Presentation (.pptx), and more.

Method 1. Add a GIF to PowerPoint from Local Files

PowerPoint presentations don’t have to be all text and charts. You can add personality and grab attention with animated GIFs. It allows you to add captivating animated GIFs from your local computer to your presentations.

Here’s how to add animated GIF to PowerPoint from local files:

1. Launch Microsoft PowerPoint and open the presentation where you want to include the GIF. Navigate to the Insert tab located at the top of the PowerPoint interface.

Navigate to Insert Tab

2. In the Insert tab, you will find various media options. Look for an option labeled Pictures and click it. Locate the folder where you saved your GIF and click it to insert it.

Look for Picture Option

3. The GIF will now be placed on your slide. If needed, drag and drop the animation to the desired location. The corner handles allow you to resize the GIF to fit your slide layout.

Configure Gif Size

Note: By default, GIF will not play automatically while editing your slide. If you want to see the GIF animation in action, click the Slide Show button.

PowerPoint allows adding GIFs saved from your local files. You can incorporate any GIF you desire, but be mindful of its size. Currently, PowerPoint only accepts GIFs with a maximum of 1.5MB file size. Larger files won’t work with PowerPoint unless you compress GIFs .

Method 2. Add a GIF to PowerPoint From The Web

PowerPoint offers a handy way to insert animated GIFs directly from the web. It eliminates the process of downloading GIFs, making insertion fast and convenient. It has an Online Pictures feature that lets you incorporate captivating GIFs directly from the web.

Here’s how to insert a GIF into PPT online:

1. Open your presentation and select the slide where you want to insert the GIF. Click the Insert tab located in the ribbon at the top of your screen.

2. Select the option labeled Online Pictures and click it. PowerPoint uses Bing to search for online images. In the search bar, type the keywords describing the desired GIF.

Select Online Pictures

3. The search results will display various images. Look for the animated thumbnails with a small play icon to identify the GIFs. Afterward, click the GIF you want to insert into your slide.

4. Once you click the GIF, it will be automatically inserted onto your slide. Similar to the previous method, it appears static in edit mode. It will only come alive during the slideshow.

Gif Inserted on Slide

Similar to adding GIFs from your local file, PowerPoint doesn’t offer control over the animation loop count. The GIF will continuously repeat until you move to the next slide.

Method 3. Set How Many Times The Animation Loops

As mentioned, PowerPoint doesn’t offer control over the number of times your GIF animation loops. The good thing is that there’s a workaround you can try. You can edit the GIF before adding it to your presentation. But here’s a thing. It can be tricky and requires additional steps.

1. Open a web browser and visit the ezgif website. Navigate to the section for editing GIFs. Look for a tool labeled Split and click it to access the editing interface.

Select Split Tool

2. Under the Upload Image section, click the Choose File button. This will open your computer’s file explorer window. Locate your downloaded GIF file and select it to load it.

Choose Gif File

3. Click Upload to proceed with the next window. The GIF will appear on the screen along with details. Below the GIF, click the Split to frames ! Button.

Split to Frames

4. After a brief moment, the GIF will be displayed as individual frames on the webpage. Scroll down the page, locate the Edit animation button, and click it.

Click Edit Animations

5. Look for the Loop Count box and enter the desired number of times you want the animation to loop. For example, typing 2 will make the animation play twice.

Configure Loop Count

Note: Leaving the box empty will lead the GIF to loop endlessly.

6. Once you’ve set the loop count, click the Make a GIF ! Button. The edited GIF will appear below this button. Below the revised GIF, click the one on the far right labeled Save.

Now that you have the edited GIF with the desired loop count, you can add it to your PowerPoint presentation. You can follow the usual steps for inserting pictures. During your presentation, the animation will only loop the specified number of times you set. Aside from configuring the loop count, you can also change GIF speed .

Animated GIFs can elevate your PowerPoint presentations. But where do you get GIFs for PowerPoint? Here, we’ll cover two methods for acquiring perfect presentation GIFs:

Method 1. Download GIF

GIPHY stores a massive collection of short, looping video clips called animated GIFs. You can search for GIFs by keyword or browse by categories to find the perfect one for your needs. It’s a one-stop shop for finding, sharing, and downloading all things GIF-related!

1. Open your web browser and head over to GIPHY’s official website.

2. Use the search bar to find a specific GIF by typing keywords.

Search Specific Gif

3. Once you’ve found your desired GIF, click it to open it in a detailed view.

4. Look for the download button associated with the GIF.

Download the Gif

Note: If you don’t see a download button, press Ctrl+S to save it on your local drive.

Now you have a downloaded GIF, you can now incorporate it into your presentations. Most GIFs on GIPHY are free to download and use. However, there’s a catch. Some creators have specific guidelines for how their GIFs can be used.

Method 2. Make a Custom GIF

A downloaded GIF might be close to what you want but not quite perfect. Maybe the action is slightly different, the characters are wrong, or the text doesn’t match your needs. That’s why creating your own GIF is ideal. It lets you express your creativity and share something entirely new. If you’re looking to create a personalized GIF that exactly matches your needs, consider using AnyMP4 Video Converter Ultimate . This multimedia software goes beyond just media conversion. It offers a multimedia tool kit with over 20+ tools, including GIF Maker.

For good measure, you can create a GIF from photos or videos. You can upload multiple photos and arrange them in sequence to create a custom animation. 4. Once the video file is uploaded, locate the Cut tool and click it. In the editing window, cut the specific segment of the video you want to use.

Get Specific Segment

After loading the media file, use the Cut tool to cut a specific segment of a video. Then, click Edit to rotate or crop your video to get the ideal framing.

5. After successfully cutting the segment, it is now time for editing. Click Edit to open the editing window. Explore the available tabs like Rotate & Crop, Effects & Filters, Watermark, etc.

Edit the Pre Output

6. Once done with GIF editing and enhancement, preview it to check the pre-output. If you’re satisfied with the result, mark the Loop Animation box and click Generate GIF .

Generate the Gif

After your GIF creation, you can now attach GIFs to PowerPoint. AnyMP4 Video Converter Ultimate is not just for digital media conversion. It also functions as a GIF maker, allowing you to create a custom GIF. As mentioned, you can also add text to GIF to personalize them. You can include captions, quotes, or even inside jokes.

There are several reasons why GIFs might not play in PowerPoint. The good news is there are usually straightforward solutions! Here, we’ll cover the most common reasons why GIFs doesn’t play in PowerPoint. We’ll provide easy fixes to get your animations up and running.

Unsupported File Format: PowerPoint can only play standard GIF animations. If you’re trying to insert a different video format like MOV, it won’t work. Double-check the file format of your GIF. If it’s not a standard GIF, convert the MOV to GIF format using a media converter before inserting it into PowerPoint.

Incorrect File Path: If you’re referencing a GIF on your local computer, a broken link can prevent playback. PowerPoint relies on the file path you provide to locate the GIF. If you move the GIF file after inserting it, the animation won’t play. Double-check the file path in PowerPoint’s Insert Picture menu. Ensure it is correct and the GIF is still present at that specific location.

Corrupted GIF File: Sometimes, GIFs can become corrupted during download or transfer, causing playback issues. Try downloading the GIF again from a reliable source. You can also test the GIF by opening it in a web browser to see if it plays correctly. If it still doesn’t play, try finding a different GIF. If it still doesn’t play, try using video repair software .

Why GIF is not working in PowerPoint?

There are a few reasons why it might not play as expected. The most common reason a GIF won’t play is because it’s not actually a GIF file. If you’re trying to insert a different format, it won’t work. Always check the file format of your GIF; the .gif extension identifies it.

Why is my GIF not moving?

By default, GIFs won’t play their animations while you’re editing your PowerPoint presentation. However, this doesn’t mean your GIF is broken! To see the animation come alive, you need to switch to Slide Show mode.

How do I play a GIF file on PowerPoint?

Navigate to the Slide Show tab on the ribbon. You can choose From Beginning to start from the first slide. Otherwise, choose From Current Slide to begin from the slide containing your GIF. During the slideshow, the GIF will automatically play its animation when you reach that slide.

This post has equipped you with the knowledge of how to add a GIF to PowerPoint. We’ve explored how to find the perfect GIF online or from your computer, along with the steps to insert it into your slides. Remember, while it doesn’t offer direct loop count control, we discussed effective workarounds to manage animation repeats. We also cover two main ways to acquire GIFs for your presentation. Websites like GIPHY offer a library of downloadable GIFs across various categories. If you can’t find the perfect pre-made GIF, consider creating your own! AnyMP4 Video Converter Ultimate’s GIF Maker allows you to turn your photos or short video clips into a custom GIF animation.

How to Make a “Good” Presentation “Great”

  • Guy Kawasaki

how to make a animated video presentation

Remember: Less is more.

A strong presentation is so much more than information pasted onto a series of slides with fancy backgrounds. Whether you’re pitching an idea, reporting market research, or sharing something else, a great presentation can give you a competitive advantage, and be a powerful tool when aiming to persuade, educate, or inspire others. Here are some unique elements that make a presentation stand out.

  • Fonts: Sans Serif fonts such as Helvetica or Arial are preferred for their clean lines, which make them easy to digest at various sizes and distances. Limit the number of font styles to two: one for headings and another for body text, to avoid visual confusion or distractions.
  • Colors: Colors can evoke emotions and highlight critical points, but their overuse can lead to a cluttered and confusing presentation. A limited palette of two to three main colors, complemented by a simple background, can help you draw attention to key elements without overwhelming the audience.
  • Pictures: Pictures can communicate complex ideas quickly and memorably but choosing the right images is key. Images or pictures should be big (perhaps 20-25% of the page), bold, and have a clear purpose that complements the slide’s text.
  • Layout: Don’t overcrowd your slides with too much information. When in doubt, adhere to the principle of simplicity, and aim for a clean and uncluttered layout with plenty of white space around text and images. Think phrases and bullets, not sentences.

As an intern or early career professional, chances are that you’ll be tasked with making or giving a presentation in the near future. Whether you’re pitching an idea, reporting market research, or sharing something else, a great presentation can give you a competitive advantage, and be a powerful tool when aiming to persuade, educate, or inspire others.

‘Twisters’ whips up $80.5 million at box office, while ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ looms

Moviegoers ran toward the tornadoes this weekend, propelling “ Twisters ” to a blockbuster opening. The standalone sequel to the 1996 hit made $80.5 million in ticket sales from 4,151 theaters in North America, according to studio estimates Sunday.

That’s about $30 million more than analysts expected initially, and makes for the biggest opening of a live-action movie yet this summer .

“We had big aspirations for it to begin with, and it certainly exceeded those,” said Jim Orr, who heads distribution for Universal. “We’re seriously over-indexing between coasts which is fun to see as well.”

Its overperformance recalled “ Oppenheimer’s ” debut last year on the same weekend. There are some similiarities: The studio, Universal, and the numbers. But there are also important differences: “Oppenheimer” was 3-hours long, R-rated (“Twisters” is PG-13) and historical, not to mention the collective enthusiasm around its release date companion, “Barbie.”

“ Twisters ,” meanwhile, is a franchise. It may not be a direct sequel to “Twister” but it is benefiting from the brand recognition. The original Jan de Bont-directed film starring Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton was a financial hit at the time and has only become more beloved over the years. This film, directed by Lee Isaac Chung, does not include any of the characters from the original and introduces a new crowd of storm chasers.

Image

“This is just further evidence that when you create something that’s compelling and interesting and has broad appeal, that all across the country people will show up,” said Michael O’Leary, the president and CEO of the National Association of Theatre Owners. “I think the word of mouth on this movie is going to be exceptional.”

The Universal, Warner Bros. and Amblin production cost $155 million to produce and millions more to promote. Part of the push included a country music heavy soundtrack, with a new Luke Combs single “Aint No Love in Oklahoma” which has racked up more than 56 million audio streams. The soundtrack as a whole, featuring the likes of Bailey Zimmerman, Tucker Wetmore, Tanner Adell, Lainey Wilson, Tyler Childers, Thomas Rhett and Miranda Lambert, has over 75 million streams.

Critics were mixed but mostly positive about the 2-hour thriller. Audiences gave it an enthusiastic A- CinemaScore and 4.5 stars on PostTrak. Also of note: 24% of moviegoers polled by PostTrack said actor Glen Powell was a main draw.

“Our director crafted exactly what audiences want to see in theaters: A very immersive, exciting, mayhem everywhere story with a charming cast,” Orr said.

Bob Bagby, the chair of the theatre owners association and the CEO of Kansas City-based B&B Theatres, which has about 580 screens, said their 4DX auditoriums have been nearly sold out all weekend. 4DX is an “immersive” presentation format for films that includes seat-shaking and wind effects.

“Twisters” has also whipped up some spirited online discourse and debate, some about the film not explicitly referencing climate change and some about the lack of a kiss between Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones. A video showing the kiss that was left on the cutting room floor made the rounds on social media over the weekend.

Bagby appreciated that there was no “surprise political or social agenda.”

“I’m in the movie business. We show everything. There’s been many movies about global warming and that’s important,” he said. “But sometimes you go to the movies and you don’t want to be brought back to reality and lose your escape. You just want to have a good time.”

Universal also had the No. 2 movie in the country with “Despicable Me 4,” now in its third weekend. It added $23.8 million from North America, where it is still playing in over 4,000 theaters, bringing its domestic total to $259.5 million.

Third place went to another animated juggernaut: Disney and Pixar’s “Inside Out 2,” now in its sixth weekend, and boasting a global total of $1.4 billion. It is quickly closing in on “Frozen 2” to earn the title of the biggest animated movie of all time.

Last year on this weekend “Barbenheimer” helped propel the box office to over $311 million. This weekend was never going to match that, but progress is still being made after a difficult start for the crucial summer moviegoing season.

“Things have really turned around since May,” said Paul Dergarabedian, the senior media analyst for Comscore.

And another force is storming theaters next weekend in “ Deadpool & Wolverine ,” which is tracking to open in the $160 million range. That would be enough to unseat “Inside Out 2” for the biggest opening of the year. How it will affect “Twisters” in its second weekend is a big unknown. O’Leary said he believes it’s a plus having compelling movies going head to head.

Dergarabedian added: “We could be looking at a weekend where people want to go see two blockbusters back to back. It’ll give that second weekend of Barbenheimer a run for its money.”

Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Comscore. Final domestic figures will be released Monday.

1. “Twisters,” $80.5 million.

2. “Despicable Me 4,” $23.8 million.

3. “Inside Out 2,” $12.8 million.

4. “Longlegs,” $11.7 million.

5. “A Quiet Place: Day One,” $6.1 million.

6. “Fly Me to the Moon,” $3.4 million.

7. “Bad Boys: Ride or Die,” $2.7 million.

8. “Bad Newz,” $1.1 million.

9. “MaXXXine,” $819,242.

10. “The Bikeriders,” $700,000.

Moviegoers embraced the storm this weekend, propelling “ Twisters ” to a blockbuster $81.25 million opening weekend. That’s far above expectations of $50 million to $55 million and enough to score the third-biggest debut of the year behind “Inside Out 2” ($154 million) and “Dune: Part Two” ($82 million).

Conversational ai is a novel opportunity for hollywood — but do talent or consumers want it, mia goth allegedly told 'maxxxine' extra suing her for battery on set that ‘nobody will believe you because you’re nothing’, popular on variety.

“Relatable characters, rural settings, a mix of spectacle, fun, and heart are just a few ingredients contributing to the film’s success with people from a wide variety of lifestyles and backgrounds,” says Shawn Robbins, the founder of Box Office Theory.

“It’s a classic, fun summer blockbuster in every sense,” says Mike Barstow, executive VP of the Nebraska-based Main Street Theatres. “Yes, it’s a sequel. But audiences realized that it could stand on its own. It wasn’t trying to push out the same story.”

Barstow and his patrons aren’t strangers to these devastating natural disasters. He believes the film resonated in the middle of the country because it was relatable for people whose lives have been affected by tornados. “It’s just something we live with in the Midwest,” Barstow says. “We can draw on experiences from growing up.”

Midwesterners indeed turned out in force, leading “Twisters” to overperform in the cinemas between the coasts. Traditionally, New York City and Los Angeles have the highest-attended venues in the country. But over the weekend, the top-earning theater for “Twisters” was Regal Warren Moore in Oklahoma City, while the No. 3 spot was Regal Pinnacle in Knoxville, Tenn. Regional chain Santikos Palladium in San Antonio was fourth in terms of grosses, while AMC locations in Nashville and Dallas also ranked high on the list.

“We’ve been at or near capacity for every showtime,” Barstow says. “I think it’ll play through August.”

Other exhibitors in the middle of the country admit they don’t totally understand the rationale behind the disproportionate turnout among patrons for whom the dangers of tornados are all too terrifyingly familiar.

“It’s hard for me to understand the psyche, but maybe it helps people to see a movie where the disaster is even worse than real life,” says Blake Hastings, CEO of Santikos, which operates 27 theaters across the south and Midwest. “Storm chasers are exciting. It’s dangerous. It’s risky. ‘Twisters’ was the first four-quadrant movie we’ve had in a while.”

Robbins compares “Twisters” to 2022’s billion-dollar smash “Top Gun: Maverick” as proof that Hollywood can “benefit from making tentpole content that organically appeals to America’s heartland.” He adds, “There’s a big audience outside the big cities and they have a meaningful impact on the theatrical landscape.”

“Twisters” was also hugely popular on 4DX screens, which allows for a uniquely immersive presentation. Cinema operators often say the theatrical experience can’t be replicated at home, and in this case, it really can’t be duplicated. In 4DX auditoriums, seats are equipped to shake, vibrate and occasionally shoot out water in sync with the action that’s unfolding on screen. It’s the closest that moviegoers can get to experiencing a tornado without going outside. Inaugural ticket sales for “Twisters” in 4DX were roughly $2.1 million, which is 30% higher than the format’s previous opening weekend record holder, 2023’s “Super Mario Bros. Movie” with $1.57 million.

After a terrible start to summer, the disaster movie is the latest June and July offering to beat expectations and get people to theaters after Disney’s Pixar sequel “Inside Out 2,” Universal and Illumination’s “Despicable Me 4,” Paramount’s nearly silent prequel “A Quiet Place: Day One” and Neon’s horror sleeper hit “Longlegs.” Those films helped to shrink the year-to-date deficit from 21% to 17%, according to Comscore. Exhibitors are expecting the good times to continue this weekend as Marvel’s “Deadpool & Wolverine,” starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman as their comic book alter egos, lands on the big screen. The superhero sequel is projected to secure one of the top debuts of 2024.

“We’re very hopeful that this will be the biggest weekend of the year,” says Hastings. “It’ll be a balancing act of figuring out how many auditoriums to allocate to ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ and ‘Twisters.’ It’s a good problem to have.”

Art from Absolute Power #2

The SDCC 2024 schedule is a week away from kicking off and there's lots to be excited about whether you'll be at the Con itself, or just keeping an eye on all the reveals from the comfort of your home. DC has now revealed some of its plans (though we suspect there may be more still to come...) and a schedule for the panels that will be taking place throughout the event, which you can find below.

NHL ’94 and MVP Baseball 2005 live on decades later. So do the arcade-style games NBA Jam and Mario Tennis.

By Sean Catangui and Jason M. Bailey

When we asked readers to share their memories of their favorite sports video games, the responses included 8-bit classics from the 1990s and cooperative brawls played with gesture-controlled joysticks some two decades later. Many of these were played with close friends or family, huddled around the TV.

For many readers, these games were an outlet for sports dreams that were otherwise inaccessible. Frustrated by the Kansas City Royals’ shortcomings? Throwing a perfect game with Zack Greinke in MVP Baseball 2005 was the ultimate catharsis for one reader. Skate 3 comprises an entire city full of skate spots that carry no risks of getting bullied or reprimanded.

They also found plenty to love beyond the on-field action, from customizing their apparel and environments (Tony Hawk’s Underground) to managing coaching staff contracts (Football Manager). Many deem their favorite game’s soundtrack “iconic.”

Here are some of the sports video games our readers love, listed with the platforms they primarily played them on:

Arcade Style

There was an especially prevalent love for “arcade-style” games that prioritized ease of play, approachability for non-sports fans and stylistic flash.
