KrishiKosh - An Institutional Repository under National Agricultural Research System
Currently KrishiKosh is housing 22210 records of Articles, Books, Institutional Publications, Journals, Conference Proceedings, Reports and Thesis.
This project is envisaged under Component-1 of National Agriculture Innovation Project (NAIP) of Indian Council of Agricultural Reserach (ICAR) whose objective is to build the critical capacity of the ICAR as a catalyzing agent. Under the Component-1 of NAIP, the project 'Strengthening of digital library and information management under NARS ( e-Granth ) at Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi was started in May, 2009 with the budget of 86.1481 million rupees with Years 11 partners.
Under the e-Granth, development of ' AgriCat ', a union catalogue of the holdings of major libraries of the ICAR Institutes and State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) and Institutional Repository for NARS with collections of old and valuable books and various other records and documents housed at different libraries in NARS are the two major activities.
In the year 2012, the KrishiKosh was built and configured on DSpace by HCL Infosystems Ltd . and is also managing the same.
While the partner institutes/universities are uploading their content of records, for thesis metadata, it has records integrated with KrishiPrabha , a full-text electronic database of Indian Agricultural Doctoral Dissertations submitted by 36 Agricultural Universities/Institutes under NARS during period from 1.1.2000 to 31.12.2006 which is currently hosted at Nehru Library , Ch. Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar under the NAIP Component-1.
The largest community on KrishiKosh is the IARI with 6844 records. Now when the KrishiKosh is officially launched and announced, it would have all the information of agriculture knowledge generated in NARS for public use.

| dc.description.abstract | As a result of the National Agricultural Innovation Programme (NAIP) framework, Krishikosh has emerged as a digital archive. Its main objective is to collect, digitise, and distribute online resources obtained from libraries of allied sciences and agriculture in India. The increasing demands of the scientific, academic, and research communities are directly addressed by this project. Krishikosh functions as a dynamic software platform that smoothly integrates with the open access paradigm in accordance with ICAR's Open Access Policy, much like a cloud service. It has developed into a required platform for holding a wide range of resources, including academic publications, historical texts, theses, journal articles, yearly reports, seminar proceedings, project results, newsletters, success stories, and the field of grey literature. The study reveals that the Krishikosh digital repository comprises 266,288 documents, encompassing theses, books, journals, project reports, and more related to agriculture and allied sciences. These documents were contributed by 106 libraries affiliated with SAU and ICAR institutes, with the top ten libraries contributing over half of the total documents. TANUVAS, Chennai, emerged as the primary contributor with 25,869 records (9.71%), followed by UAS, Bengaluru, with 22,272 records (8.36%). Theses and dissertations constituted the majority, totalling 193,089 records (77.79%), with UAS, Bengaluru, leading in this category with 14,326 records (7.40%). The repository's interface offers robust search options, facilitated by Agro tags for semantic searches, promoting efficient resource discovery. Administrative control lies with institutional stakeholders, enabling content management. This analytical study provides a comprehensive perspective on the repository's varied resources, offering multidimensional benefits for agricultural studies and research. | en_US |

The data werecollected from 80 Kasuri methi growers from 4 villages of 2 tehsil in Nagaur district. The study revealed that overall cost of cultivation of Kasuri methi was ₹ 126071.91which increased with the increase in the farm size. Major item of cost was seed whichaccounted for 1/3 of the total cost.

A new in planta transformation protocol was developed with 10.49 % overall transformation efficiency. Floral buds of 3-8 days of developmental stages were used for dipping in Agro suspension which resulted in setting of 150 fruits. The extracted T0 seeds were selected on kanamycin.

The study revealed that majority (81.67 %) of the farmers of the overall region perceived changing climatic scenario and its impact on crop-farming as well as livestock-rearing. The study also shows that all farmers witnessed extreme climatic events; hence, the locale of the study was climate-led disaster prone region.

KrishiKosh is an institutional repository maintained by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi in which all Agricultural Universities and ICAR Research Institutes upload their publications including research papers, theses & dissertations and institutional publications.
The present study was carried out to investigate effect of Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC) and Aloe vera gel edible coating incorporated with Lemongrass oil for extending shelf life of pomegranate arils. CMC was used at 0.25%, 0.50% and 0.75% concentrations and incorporated with LGEO at levels of 400 ppm and 800 ppm.
