Failed my Masters thesis : r/GradSchool - Reddit
I failed a portion of my masters comprehensive exams. It was grueling and I was exhausted. Nevertheless, because I didn’t want to stay in school any longer or drop out, I studied my ass off for the next exam (and constantly met with faculty to “show” how serious I was).
I am going to fail my Master's Thesis : r/GradSchool - Reddit
I sent in my Master's Thesis yesterday, and it's one of the worst things I've ever written. I have been working on it (not at all consistently) since September. Then I had a family crisis in October and my motivation plummeted.
Failed my master’s thesis : r/GradSchool - Reddit
Unlike all previous posts telling how bad their thesis was and still passed, my supervisor told me I failed. After 4 hours from submitting (he is taking a vacation next week). Interesting in this story is that the professor hasnt received my thesis at all.

It will depend on the rules and your uni in general. It would help if you had extenuating circumstances. You can appeal plus see a student supervisor. You could use your lack of supervision as the basis, but they will ask why didnt you make a complaint at the time? You might as well try as you have nothing to lose.

How would one fail a master thesis defense?
It's pretty rare for a student to fail the defense of a masterthesis in the Swedish systems, but I have seen a few over the years. The three most common reasons include: Did not show up to defend the thesis (AKA: Lose on walkover) Doesn't know the material of the thesis (AKA: Didn't write it)
Stuck completing master's thesis, how to overcome poor choice ...
If you find your thesis dull and mentor unhelpful, easiest way is to switch thesis, but better yet, switch both thesis and mentor. If you opt to do this, best way is to approach your mentor, tell him how you feel about your thesis and politely ask if it's possible to change theme of your thesis.

I have definitely heard of people failing their master's thesis. Someone in my cohort did, but I read their work after and it sucked major ass (we didn't get dedicated advisors for our thesis). Appeal.
failed masters dissertation? - The Student Room
The jump at masters level generally requires more critical thought; there is actually a tendency to use fewer sources, not more, in some cases. This means, especially if you have barely passed some of your coursework, that your dissertation will get mauled to pieces.
Thesis vs. non-thesis masters? How important is it? - reddit
I'm currently in the beginning stages of mastering out of my PhD program and I am choosing between a thesis or non-thesismasters. For reference, I'm a year into my program and have been working on practice sets for the past year, so nothing data producing.
