• A basic outline of the research methods you think will best answer your research question
• The perceived implications for future research
• A reference list in the citation style of your choice

The length of your proposal varies quite a bit depending on your discipline and type of work you’re conducting. While a thesis proposal is often only 3-7 pages long, a prospectus for your dissertation is usually much longer, with more detailed analysis. Dissertation proposals can be up to 25-30 pages in length.

Arguable thesis with analytical claim 

While Sandel argues persuasively that our instinct to “remake” (54) ourselves into something ever more perfect is a problem, his belief that we can always draw a line between what is medically necessary and what makes us simply “better than well” (51) is less convincing.

This is an arguable analytical claim. To argue for this claim, the essay writer will need to show how evidence from the article itself points to this interpretation. It’s also a reasonable scope for a thesis because it can be supported with evidence available in the text and is neither too broad nor too narrow.  

Arguable thesis with normative claim 

Given Sandel’s argument against genetic enhancement, we should not allow parents to decide on using Human Growth Hormone for their children.

This thesis tells us what we should do about a particular issue discussed in Sandel’s article, but it does not tell us how we should understand Sandel’s argument.  

Questions to ask about your thesis 

• Is the thesis truly arguable? Does it speak to a genuine dilemma in the source, or would most readers automatically agree with it?  
• Is the thesis too obvious? Again, would most or all readers agree with it without needing to see your argument?  
• Is the thesis complex enough to require a whole essay's worth of argument?  
• Is the thesis supportable with evidence from the text rather than with generalizations or outside research?  
• Would anyone want to read a paper in which this thesis was developed? That is, can you explain what this paper is adding to our understanding of a problem, question, or topic?

Plan better, finish faster - 13 tips for your bachelor's, master's or PhD thesis

"I have been researching and scanning sources for the master's thesis for three weeks now. And I still haven't written a page..." The student thinks as she looks at the book in front of her. She can't even remember why she opened it...

This is a typical beginning to the bachelor's or master's thesis. A lot of work, but little to show. The end is typical too! As the deadline approaches, your thesis is being written in rush, using all available sources, hoping that your work will be enough. When you’re frantically trying to put words on the page to just turn something in, the final outcome will not be a great event of your studies. It will spoil the memories of your career as a student.

Plan your bachelor's or master's thesis from the very beginning. That way it will progress quickly, be more fun, and you will receive a better grade. Here are 13 tips.

1. Plan your Bachelor's or Master's Thesis by following a master plan, like a project, with milestones and sprints.

Your bachelor's or master's thesis is a real project with intermediate goals and tasks. Just stick to a proven plan. We have a master plan with concrete milestones and sprints. Take them on, run the sprints, and your text immediately takes shape. You won't have trying moments of doubt because you'll always know what's next.

2. Plan to work in shifts of 1.5 to 2 hours each.

Have you ever planned to work for an entire day non-stop at the library, focused and motivated? It works in rare cases because our brain needs a break now and then. Step out for a breath of fresh air and a short walk. Your body needs a bit of exercise.

Instead of working straight for eight hours, you should work in shifts of about two hours. You deserve a break after that. Then comes the next shift. This way your work remains manageable and every two hours you can celebrate and feel a sense of achievement. In addition, one or two tasks can be combined. Always work in sprints, and you’ll get ahead.

3. Plan breaks at fixed times.

Breaks are important. When you’re in the middle of something, you can completely forget about them so set the timer on your smartphone or work towards a fixed time, until 10:00 or 11:30. Breaks should be between 5 and 15 minutes long. Try our Power-Sleeping-Power-Working technique: 2 hours of concentrated work followed by a 15-minute break. Afterwards we'll start all over again!

4. Plan sprints of two to five days to complete the chapters for your Bachelor's or Master's Thesis

Every student feels a sense of achievement when they finish a chapter or subchapter. That brings motivation. Therefore, plan fixed deadlines, depending on the sprint. Such goals make the work more manageable, so it won’t seem like such a big mountain anymore. When you're done, check it off the list.

5. Use tools and checklists for your Bachelor's or Master's Thesis.

8. Establish routines when working on your Bachelor's or Master's Thesis.

We humans are creatures of habit. Routines make life easier, including writing the bachelor's or master's thesis. Here are a few examples of routines:

• "Every day from 8:00 to 12:30, I will write..."
• I will stop at 6:00 p.m.
• Working out is part of the lunch break
• Once a week I can meet with my supervisor or friends

And these are just a few examples…

9. Reward yourself for achieving your goals

Think of something nice to reward yourself with after each stage. There are no limits to your creativity. That shouldn't be hard since you know yourself the best. The chocolate tastes so much richer and the movie is so much funnier when you know that you have written three pages today – I promise!

10. Finish it now, no matter how long the night shift is going to last...

Of course, we are not recommending you to plow through to complete exhaustion. At this point it is important to listen to yourself: What does your body say? Do I still have energy? Am I in control?

But sometimes an intensive night shift can also give you new energy - not just because you will have completed an incredible amount of work in one day. Maybe try it once then decide if it works for you or not. After that you can adjust your planning or technique. Use our turbo writing technique for your thesis.

11. Create urgency right from the start

The pressure at the end comes from the proximity of the due date. But you can also increase the pressure on yourself and plan better. That is called time management. This can be remedied by working on another project that must be finished urgently. Or going on a weekend trip that you have already booked or something else....

Play a trick on yourself, so to speak, that will make you finish your work before the deadline.

12. Leave yourself one “free” day per week for rest and relaxation

You might feel guilty, but you must allow yourself some rest, otherwise your body will go on strike. However, in order to keep your guilty conscience within limits, you should ask yourself the following three questions before your day off:

1) Do I have a good plan? With regard to content? With milestones?

2.) Am I using the right techniques for researching, reading, evaluating, analyzing and writing? (see our method check) and

3.) Are my goals realistic?

If you can answer all three questions with a yes, you are entitled to one day of freedom which you can now enjoy to the fullest! Afterwards you’ll have the energy to continue working.

13. Try it out

You can only adopt a set schedule, goal and phase, no matter how small, as effective and successful once you have tried it. So take a chance and just get started. One week later you can check to see if it went the way you planned.

Planning Your Time

The dissertation is a large project, so it needs careful planning. To organise your time, you can try the following:  

Break down the dissertation into smaller stages to complete (e.g., literature search, read materials, data collection, write literature review section…). 

Create a schedule. Working backwards from your deadline, decide when you will complete each stage. 

Set aside time to regularly work on the dissertation. 

Consider what times of day you are most alert and what makes a suitable space to study. 

Identify a specific task to work on. 

If overwhelmed, try to identify one task that needs doing rather than focusing on the larger project. 

Leave time to redraft, proof-read, format, and complete the reference list. 

Gantt Charts

As the dissertation project involves certain processes to take place simultaneously, rather than in a sequence, you can use a Gantt chart to organise your time.  

A Gantt chart is a bar chart which shows the schedule for a project. The project is broken down into key tasks/elements to be completed. A start and finish date for each task/element of the project is given. Some tasks are scheduled at the same time or may overlap. Others will start when a task has been completed. 

To produce a Gantt chart, you can use Word, Excel (see example in the attachment) or an online planner.

To write a bachelor thesis and achieve a good result, you should heed a few essential tips. The work begins long before the actual writing. Pre-planning - preparation is everything

Define your research question - consider your interests!

To define your research question, you need to have already done some reading on the topic. Usually, you start with a rough idea and then look at all relevant sources that provide you with information about your research topic. It would help if you were sure that your question has not yet been sufficiently addressed and has something new to contribute to the discourse. It does not have to be a noble prize-worthy innovation - often, small details are interesting or connections that have not been investigated in this form before.

Ask yourself: What can and do I want to contribute to this field? Do I have a unique perspective from which I can see the question? Be aware that you will spend many hours on your research question - so in the best case, it should interest you and provide you with intrinsic motivation.

Prepare a synopsis and a timetable

Your supervisor has been chosen, and the research question has been defined. Now you should take your time to write an exposé. The exposé is a detailed guideline in which you give an overview of the planned work steps, summarize your work's rough content, and create a schedule. In the context of a bachelor's thesis, an exposé is usually required by the supervising lecturers to be able to point out possible stumbling blocks in advance and to be able to provide adequate support in planning.

An exposé is also vital for you personally: through the conceptual planning, you will get a good impression of the feasibility of your project, uncover some blind spots, and have a guideline for later blockades, which you can use as orientation even in difficult times .

By the way, you don't have to realize the exposé down to the last detail. Often obstacles or questions arise along the way that you could not have considered in advance. This is quite normal - don't let yourself get confused and stay flexible despite all your planning.

Research literature - a good overview is important

When the research question is defined, the literature research starts. Be sure to take enough time to get a good overview of your topic's current state of research. The better you have informed yourself in advance, the easier it will be to write, formulate your hypotheses, and position your results in the scientific discourse.

Be sure to make a list of the literature you have reviewed. A literature management program can help you keep track of the literature and prepare well for the source references in your Bachelor thesis. It is best to ask at your university - usually, there is a program that you can use free of charge as a student. In most cases, this is Zotero , Citavi, Mendeley , or Endnote.

Tip: If you work with a literature management program and use a specialized word processing program for scientific writing, you can save much work when formatting. The writing process

Enough of the preparation now - you can finally start writing. You will find that it will go much faster than you think if you are well prepared.

It's best to divide your writing up well. Nobody will manage to write from morning to night every day. Try out what rhythm works well for you . Maybe you can write well for an hour at a time and then need a fifteen-minute break, perhaps a short walk? Or can you dig in for three hours and then take a more extended break? It has always helped me a lot in those times to make an appointment in the late afternoon, book a sports course, or something similar. It gave me an excellent motivation to get my workload done and, at the same time, a counterbalance to the concentrated writing on the laptop.

Additionally, you can consider how to optimize your daily schedule so that you have to make as few decisions as possible that don't involve your bachelor thesis. For example, you could order a convenient cooking box for this time instead of worrying about what to cook today. Or, you could create a precise daily schedule for yourself that details when you'll write, when you'll research, and when you'll take a break. The goal here is to reduce the number of different decisions to concentrate on your Bachelor thesis fully.

Structuring your thesis - outline and composition

Your bachelor's thesis consists of an introduction, the main part, a conclusion, and possibly an abstract and an acknowledgment. Be sure to ask your institute in advance what the formal requirements are.

Writing the introduction

In the first step, create a (preliminary) outline for your paper. You have probably already set the foundation for this in the synopsis. After that, it is often helpful to write the first version of the introduction. However, you should adjust it again after you have finished your work since some things often change during the writing process. Some writers prefer to start the introduction only after the main part has been written and only make notes at first.

In the introduction, you explain your research question, your approach, and the relevance of your paper . You should also explain the structure of your paper.

Writing the main body

The main part is the core of your bachelor thesis. First, you should position your topic in the current scientific discourse. You explain the state of research and define critical terms. Then, describe the methods you used, justify your approach, and present your results. There is also room for crucial questioning of your results and an interpretation.

Especially in the main part, make sure that you do not lose your line of argument . It is essential that you build up your argumentation logically and that readers can follow you at any time. The exposé prepared in advance will help you with this.

Writing the conclusion

In the conclusion you should bring your work to a meaningful end and put all the findings in context . The conclusion should be related to the introduction. Together with the latter, it is a significant part of the thesis. In the future, many readers will read the introduction, read the main part on a sample basis, and look at the conclusion attentively again. In the conclusion, you summarize your findings, briefly place them in the scientific context and critically reflect on the weaknesses of your work.

Writing abstract and acknowledgments

If an abstract is required, you can keep close to your conclusion. In the abstract, readers should be able to find a summary of your work - all relevant data and facts, methods, conclusion, classification, and criticism belong here.

An acknowledgment is not obligatory, but most writers include it. Here you can write an informal and personal text. It is common to refer to all the people who have provided financial, professional, or emotional support . A short history of the bachelor thesis is also often placed here: How did the choice of topic come about? What obstacles and good moments occurred during the writing process? Don't go into too much detail here - the acknowledgments should not take up more than one page.

Dealing with writer's blocks - when things go wrong

There are a few proven strategies if you get stuck during the writing process. The cause is usually the pressure you have put on yourself, either internally or externally. Therefore, it helps many people with writer's block to step out of the writing process entirely for a few hours or even a few days and clear their heads . This can happen especially if you don't manage to create enough counterbalance to writing in your everyday life.

Sometimes, however, a state of overwhelm sets in in the face of the giant pile of work. In this case, a look at the preliminary planning in the exposé can help to gain confidence about the process. It often helps to know the following concrete steps and then work through these step by step. You don't have to have the entire work in view. Work your way forward piece by piece.

If you get stuck in thought loops and are struggling with a hypothesis or a formulation, talking to selected fellow students or outsiders can also help. Choose someone from whom you will not receive unwanted and unsolicited feedback - this could make you feel even more insecure. Find someone you trust and discuss your current blockage with them. Often, an exchange of ideas quickly solves what you could not sort out in your head.

Once you have finished your Bachelor thesis, you should have it proofread. You can either hire someone who does this professionally or you can look for people in your environment who can help you.

It often makes sense to ask someone familiar with the topic (such as a fellow student) and an outsider (such as a best friend who has a different career path). Feedback from someone close to your topic can challenge you on the content and give you final ideas for slight restructuring or open questions. If you also give your work to an external person, they will probably have completely different questions. Both parties should also be on the lookout for spelling and grammatical errors.

Dein Schreibprozess teilt sich in vier Phasen: die Orientierungs- und Planungsphase , die Recherche und Materialbeschaffung , die Schreibphase und die Abschlussphase .

Zu der Orientierungs-und Planungsphase zählen alle Schritte, die du erledigen solltest, bevor du deine Bachelorarbeit anmeldest . Hier geht es vor allem um erste Ideen.

Dazu gehören:

• dein Thema finden,
• passende Literatur recherchieren und sichten,
• Fragestellung bzw. Problemstellung festlegen,
• vorläufige Gliederung planen,
• Realisierbarkeit prüfen.

Anhand der gewonnenen Erkenntnisse aus dieser Phase kannst du sogar schon ein erstes Exposé für deinen Betreuer oder deine Betreuerin erstellen.

In dieser Phase geht es um Literaturrecherche und Materialbeschaffung. Auf die Ergebnisse der Orientierungs- und Planungsphase kann nun aufgebaut werden und du kannst mit deiner Forschung beginnen.

• Intensivere Literatursuche und -analyse,
• Forschungsdesign bestimmen,
• Daten sammeln,
• Datenanalyse und Datenauswertung.

Wenn du beispielsweise Umfragen oder Interviews durchführen möchtest und deine Bachelorarbeit von der Kooperation anderer Personen abhängig ist, ist es besonders wichtig, Termine frühzeitig zu planen und deinen Zeitplan nicht aus den Augen zu verlieren.

Nun kann der Schreibprozess beginnen. Je gründlicher du in den ersten zwei Phasen gearbeitet hast, desto leichter sollte dir das Schreiben von der Hand gehen.

Hier kannst du deine Bachelorarbeit in die einzelnen Kapitel einteilen und dir für jedes Kapitel eine Frist setzen. So wird das Ganze gleich viel machbarer und du stehst nicht vor einem riesigen Berg Arbeit.

Während manche Studenten ihre Abschlussarbeit an einem Stück runterschreiben, teilen sich andere das Schreiben lieber auf einen längeren Zeitraum auf.

Du kennst deinen Arbeitsrhythmus am besten und kannst dir die Zeit für diese Phase entsprechend einteilen. Aber du solltest dir nicht zu viel Zeit dazwischen lassen, denn so wird es immer schwieriger, sich wieder in das Material hineinzufinden.

Der größte Teil ist geschafft – jetzt heißt es erstmal durchatmen! Für diese letzten Schritte solltest du allerdings noch genügend Zeit einplanen:

Bevor du sie in den Druck gibst, solltest du auf jeden Fall deine Bachelorarbeit Korrektur lesen lassen.

Nach wochenlangem Schreiben und ständigem Überarbeiten des Textes sieht man seine eigenen Fehler meist gar nicht mehr. Allerdings wirkt sich die sprachliche Qualität deiner Bachelorarbeit auch auf deine Note aus. Professionelle Korrektoren finden noch bis zu 150 Fehler pro 1.000 Wörter. Ein zweites Paar Augen ist außerdem nie von Nachteil.

Wurde deine Bachelorarbeit Korrektur gelesen und sind alle Anmerkungen in den Text eingearbeitet, solltest du dich mit der Formatierung auseinandersetzen.

Achte hierbei genau auf die Vorgaben deiner Universität. Vergiss nicht, ein ordentliches Deckblatt aufzusetzen, Seitenzahlen einzufügen und die Eidesstattliche Erklärung zu unterschreiben.

Plagiatsprüfung

Ein letzter wichtiger Punkt ist die Prüfung deines Dokuments auf Plagiat . Wenn du dir nicht sicher bist, ob du in deiner Bachelorarbeit richtig zitiert hast, kannst du dein Dokument einer Online-Plagiatsprüfung unterziehen. Dort wird dir direkt angezeigt, welche Stellen du besser nochmal überarbeiten solltest.

Am Anfang mögen dir 3 Monate ab Anmeldung deiner Bachelorarbeit als viel Zeit erscheinen. Das ist es aber nur, wenn man richtig plant.

Gerade wenn du während der Bachelorarbeit noch Kurse besuchst oder vielleicht einen Nebenjob hast, wirst du merken, dass die Zeit schneller vorbeigeht, als du denkst. Hier kann dir ein Zeitplan helfen, die Frist im Auge zu behalten und dir viel Stress in der letzten Minute ersparen.

Die Entscheidung, einen Zeitplan überhaupt zu erstellen, ist bereits ein wichtiger Schritt. Es gibt allerdings noch einige Punkte, die du bei deiner Zeitplanung berücksichtigen solltest:

• Fange lieber zu früh mit der Planung an – so hast du genug Zeit, dich ausführlich mit allem auseinanderzusetzen.
• Bleib realistisch – setze dir keine unmöglichen Fristen.
• Sei ehrlich mit dir selbst – wie viel schaffst du wirklich an einem Tag?
• Plane lieber zu viel Zeit ein – es fühlt sich immer besser an, dem Zeitplan voraus zu sein.
• Plane genug Zeit für Freizeit und Spaß ein – du musst auch einfach mal nichts tun dürfen!
• Plane von dem Datum deiner Abgabe rückwärts – so erhältst du einen guten Überblick.

NASA says it's revising the Mars Sample Return mission due to cost, long wait time

NASA's mission is to return rock, soil and others samples to Earth for study.

NASA announced Monday it is revising plans for its Mars Sample Return (MSR) mission due to the estimated cost and long wait time for samples to return to Earth.

The mission's goal was to collect samples of rock, soil, atmosphere and loose surface material and deliver them back to Earth via the Mars Perseverance rover. The rover, which landed in 2021, has been collecting and storing samples in specially designed tubes. The mission was a joint effort with the European Space Agency.

During a press conference, NASA administrator Bill Nelson said although the federal space agency is "committed" to retrieving the samples, independent reviews have estimated the project would cost between $8 billion and $11 billion and samples may not return until 2040.

"That is unacceptable to wait that long," Nelson said. "It's the decade of the 2040s that we're going to be landing astronauts on Mars ... the long and short of it then is that the current budget environment doesn't allow us to pursue an $11 billion architecture and 2040 is too long."

To make the mission work, NASA is requesting assistance from the NASA community, including the Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL), to create a new, updated mission design that "has reduced complexity, improve resiliency and risk posture, and well as well as strong accountability and coordination," Nicky Fox, associate administrator for NASA's Science Mission Directorate, said during the press conference.

Nelson said he is asking NASA centers and JPL to report back in the fall for alternate plans to make the mission quicker and cheaper to carry out.

The sample retrieval orbiter was scheduled to launch in 2027 and the lander in 2028, the latter carrying a NASA-led Mars rocket and small Mars helicopters. It was scheduled to land in 2030 and Perseverance would bring the samples to the lander, attached to the lightweight rocket.

Next, the rocket -- carrying the samples -- would launch to meet the orbiter, the first to do so from another planet. Lastly, the orbiter would carry the samples the rest of the way to Earth, with plans to originally return in 2033, according to NASA.

The helicopters would be used as backups in case Perseverance is not able to bring the sample tubes to the lander or in case sample tubes are accidentally left on the Mars surface.

"Collecting compelling science samples that will help scientists understand the geological history of Mars, the evolution of its climate, and prepare for future human explorers," NASA wrote . "The return of the samples will also help NASA's search for signs of ancient life."

Despite the schedule set by NASA, the future of the mission has been in question after an independent review board reviewed the federal space agency's plans and goals for the MSR mission and presented a report in September 2023.

In the report, the mission was described as having "[an] unrealistic budget and schedule expectations from the beginning."

The authors of the report said the program would cost between $8 billion and $11 billion and that "technical issues, risks, and performance-to-date indicate a near zero probability" of the estimated launch dates. The report found the 2027/2028 date was more likely to occur in 2033, delaying the mission by a few years. Additionally, the Decadal Survey, conducted by the National Research Council said samples were unlikely to return until the 2040s.

"Independent review boards like the one we commissioned for Mars Sample Return help review whether we're on the right track to meet our mission goals within the appropriate budget," Sandra Connelly, deputy associate administrator for NASA's Science Mission Directorate, said in a statement after the report's release. "We thank the board for its work, and now our job is to assess the report and address if there are elements of the program that need to change."

Past missions to Mars have confirmed that certain areas of the planet were capable of supporting life in the past, according to NASA . Evidence indicates parts of Mars were warm and wet about three billion years ago, which would be around the same time early life was developing on Earth.

"This commonality raises the prospect that discoveries on Mars can give us important insights about the origin and evolution of life on Earth," NASA stated.

Golden Bachelor Bombshell! Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist Divorcing After 3 Months of Marriage

"We've kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it's probably time for us to dissolve our marriage," Turner said in a joint interview with Nist

Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist are going their separate ways.

The Golden Bachelor stars revealed on Friday, April 12 that they are divorcing , just three months after they married in a lavish televised "Golden wedding."

"Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations, and we've looked closely at our situation, our living situation and so forth, and we've kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it's probably time for us to dissolve our marriage," Turner, 72, said in a joint interview with Nist, 70, that aired on Good Morning America .

The former pair both said they were really nervous about how viewers of the hit ABC would react to the news, knowing that their union inspired so many singles in their 70s looking for love.

"We have received so much love and support from so many people who watch the G olden Bachelor and I don't think we can tell you how many people told us it gave them so much hope," Nist said. "We want none of that to change for anybody."

"Don't give up," she added. "Stay in it. Stay hopeful. 'Cause we are."

Asked what went wrong, the pair said the distance proved a problem, despite their previous claims that they were “100% committed to making it work.” He lives at his lake house in Indiana while she is based out of New Jersey. 

They had planned to move in together, Nist said, explaining Turner considered a move to New Jersey and both even looked for homes in South Carolina. “We looked at home after home, but we never got to the point where we made that decision," she said.

“The thing that strikes me the most in our conversations, it's been how dedicated both of us are to our families,” shared Turner. “So we look at these conversation and we both think it's best for the happiness of each of us to live apart."

Both insisted that they did not fall out of love, and that the realities of being in the public eye — and reports about Turner's dating past — had nothing to do with their split. The two did their GMA interview holding hands, and told ABC News' Juju Chang they are "best friends" and plan on staying in one another's lives.

“I still love this person. There’s no doubt in my mind, I still am in love with her. I root for her every day,” Turner said, pointing to Nist who gushed, “I still love him.”

Even while Nist admitted she'd be giving back the ring, which she was still wearing, Turner sweetly said, "But you know what, we don't have to give back the memories."

As for finding love again, Turner and Nist agreed they plan on going on that journey. "And we tell everybody else to continue to look for love," Nist said.

Turner gave his final rose to Nist on the season finale of The Golden Bachelor  on Nov. 30, 2023. The series followed the father of two (and grandfather of two) on his journey  to find love after the death of his wife Toni .

Nist accepted the coveted flower — and his 3.15-carat, princess-cut  diamond engagement ring from Neil Lane — but only after  she said "yes" to Turner's hand in marriage  when he got down on one knee and proposed. Before accepting the ring, she poured her heart out to Turner.

“I know how sometimes it feels like the whole world thinks love is only for the young, and quite honestly, at the age of 70, I was beginning to feel that myself,” she said. "I’m so madly in love with you, Gerry, and I feel that for us, life isn’t over, the best is yet to come.”

Turner and Nist said their "I dos" on Jan. 4 in a televised wedding special from the La Quinta Resort and Club in La Quinta, California. The ceremony was  officiated  by fan-favorite  Susan Noles , and attended by a sea of  Bachelor  Nation stars including  Wells Adams ,  Ben Higgins ,  Jason  and  Molly Mesnick ,  Desiree  and  Chris Siegfried , and  Trista  and  Ryan Sutter.

“I promise to choose you, every day, as the one I love, and never take your heart for granted,"  Turner told Nist in his vows. "I promise to shout the 'I love yous' by day, and whisper them softly at night. I promise to keep you safe. And I promise to make you feel comforted in difficult times and abundantly joyful in great times.” 

"I love you," said Nist. "I love your heart and your soul. I love your smiles and your laughter. We have so much fun together we laugh until we cry. ... I promise to be calm in the storm, to comfort you when you're sad, to laugh with you when you're happy, and to stick with you throughout it all, but most of all, to have fun. For the rest of the days that we have left on this earth, which could be another hour."

PEOPLE reached out to reps for Turner and Nist for comment. No divorce paperwork has been filed yet, but the two did have a prenup, according to GMA.
