23 March Pakistan Resolution Day Speech in English

The Resolution was seconded by Maulana Zafar Ali Khan from Punjab, Sardar Aurangzeb from the NWFP, Sir Abdullah Haroon from Sindh, and Qazi Esa from Baluchistan, along with many others. It laid down only the precepts, with the details left to be worked out at a future date. It was made a part of All India Muslim League’s establishment in 1941. More significantly, it was on the basis of this resolution that in 1946 the Muslim League decided to go for one “maverick” state for the Muslims, instead of two.

Having passed the Pakistan Resolution, the Muslims of India altered their ultimate goal. They set out on a path whose goal was a separate country of origin for the Muslims of India, in lieu of seeking union with the Hindu community. Different participating leaders of the session of All-India Muslim League held on March 23, 1940, letting in the Quaid-i-Azam, agreed that India was never united; rather it was split between Muslim India and Hindu India and it would remain so in the future. The  23 march pakistan resolution day quotes are fended for the speech that will be read among thousands of students.

The entire outlooks, customs and customs of cultures of these two different nations were different anyway. They were different not only in their religious beliefs, but their entire mode of life bore a different imprint. The words of the Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah in his presidential address to the session carried a far deeper impression on the crushed and demoralized Muslims at the hands of ruthless and despotic Coition rule.

Mr Jinnah said: “The Hindus and Muslims belong to two different religious philosophies, social customs and literature. They neither intermarry nor inter-dine together, and indeed they belong to two different civilizations which are based mainly on conflicting ideas and conceptions.” Such a far-reaching speech by Mr Jinnah paved the way for the demand of a separate independent homeland for the exploited Muslims of India, who believed their rights and privileges could not be guarded under a parliamentary form of government.

They also realized that the bloody brutes of the majority without any democratic traditions turned the Hindu rulers tyrannical in their behavior and due to missing of any administrative experience they acted in a way that could be unacceptable in a democratic society. One of the key demands made in the Pakistan resolution moved by chief minister of Bengal Maulvi Fazl-ul-Haq on March 23, 1940, was that no constitutional plan would be workable in this country or acceptable to the Muslims unless it was framed on the followed basic principles. We will update  pakistan resolution day 23 march 1940 essay and  speech on 23 march in english for children on this page.

23rd March Resolution Pakistan Essay English

Those geographically contiguous units are demarcated into regions, which should be constituted with such territorial readjustments as, may be necessary. That the areas wherein the Muslims form majority as in the North-Western and Eastern zones of India be grouped together to constituted ‘independent States’ in which the constituted units shall be autonomous and sovereign. That adequate, effective and mandatory safeguards be specially provided in the constitution for minorities in these units and in the regions for the protection of their religious, cultural, economic, political administrative and other rights of interests in consultation with them and in other parts of India where the Muslims form minority.

New 23 March Pakistan Resolution Day Speech in English & Urdu

Having analyzed the crux of the resolution, one comes to a conclusion as to it (the resolution) laid emphasis on a necessity of a separate Muslim-state for the Muslims of India by grouping the North-Western and Eastern zones of India where they were in majority, constitutional protection to minorities and their rights-cum-interests. The passing of the Lahore Resolution, which was dubbed by the Hindu and the British press as ‘ The Pakistan Resolution ‘, ended in a great hue and cry in the Hindu, Sikh, and British circles.

The Indian press found a new target to incessantly make evil designs and unfurl campaigns against the Muslims and leaders of the Muslim League. Mr. Gandhi declared that partition would mean suicide and the Two-Nation Theory was an unreality. The vast majority of Muslims of India area concerts to Islam or are the descendants of the converts. In consequence, they did not make a separate nation as soon as they become converts, he maintained. Others who flatly opposed the Lahore Resolution were Raj Gopal Achari, B R Ambedkar, Master Tara Singh, Nationalist Muslim group.

On the other hand, the resolution was massively bolstered by many other noted leaders representing different provinces of India, who unanimously adopted it. Sindh too leads, which passed a resolution for Pakistan. Till now, the resolution is deemed to be the quintessence of goal-orientation of the untiring and unfailing struggle of Indian Muslims, dating back to 1857. One of the major impacts of the resolution was that under the leadership of towering personality in Mr. Jinnah not only it did stimulate the Muslim middle-classes to unprecedented political action, but also it caught the imagery of the people of all classes of the Muslim community It was the resolution, which made the Muslims of India discern their own destiny and spelled out destination and route of action for them to a separate Muslim-state.

After the downfall of the Muslim conglomerate, it was the first time that the resolution proved a ‘line of direction’ for drifting Muslims. The resolution not only injected new blood into the veins of the Indian Muslims to speed up their struggle to their destiny but also regenerated their slow-down political activity for self-determination in the areas where they made a numeral bulk.

Lahore Resolution (1940)

Lahore-Resolution-(1940)

  • 1940-47 Road to Destiny dph

Follow Us On:

With the introduction of political reforms in India by the British, the Muslims realized that they would become a permanent minority in a democratic system and it would never be possible for them to protect their fundamental rights. They only constituted one-fourth of the total Indian population and were much lesser in number than the majority Hindu community. To protect their political, social, and religious rights they first demanded separate electorates. However, due to the political developments that took place in the country, they realized that even the right of separate electorates would not be enough and they had to search for some other long-term solution.

Muhammad Iqbal, the poet-philosopher in his famous Allahabad address made it clear that Islam has its own social and economic system, and to implement it a political entity was required. When Jinnah came back to India to reorganize Muslim League and to make it a political party of the Muslim masses, he got the opportunity to interact with Iqbal. Iqbal through his letters tried to persuade Jinnah that the only solution available was a separate state for the Indian Muslims where they could spend their lives according to the teachings of the Holy Quran and Sunnah of the Prophet (SAW). Though Jinnah was convinced by the late 1930s, being a realist he was not ready to announce the new plan until he was confident that the vast majority of the Muslims were behind him. The overwhelming support from the Muslim masses for his call to celebrate Day of Deliverance on December 22, 1939, was a vote of confidence given by the Muslim Community in the leadership of Jinnah, whom they by then had started considering as their Quaid-i-Azam.

Organization

With the clarity of mind and backing of the Muslim community behind him, Quaid-i-Azam called for the 27 th annual session of the All India Muslim League to be held from March 22 to 24, 1940 at Lahore. Sir Shah Nawaz Khan of Mamdot was made the head of the reception committee and Main Bashir Ahmad was nominated as secretary of the session. Prominent leaders including Chaudhry Khaliquzzam, Nawab Muhammad Ismail Khan, Nawab Bahadur Yar Jang, A.K. Fazlul Haq, Sardar Abdur Rab Nishtar, Abdullah Haroon, Qazi Muhammad Isa, I.I. Chundrigar, Sardar Aurangzeb Khan, Khawaja Nazimuddin, Abdul Hashim and Malik Barkat Ali, etc. attended the session.

Khaksar Tragedy

Due to the Khaksar Tragedy that took place on March 19, Sir Sikandar Hayat and others tried to persuade Jinnah to postpone the session but the Quaid was not ready to delay it. To participate in the session, he reached Lahore by train on March 21. He went straight to Mayo Hospital to see the wounded Khaksars. By doing so he managed to handle well the issue of Khaksar disturbances. On his arrival, Jinnah told the print media that the All India Muslim League will make a historic decision in the upcoming session.

Quaid-i-Azam’s Address

The venue of the session was Minto Park near Badshahi Masjid and Lahore Fort. The inaugural session was planned at around three in the afternoon on March 22. People started coming in the morning and by the afternoon the park was jam-packed. According to a rough estimate, around 100,000 attended the public meeting. At the beginning of the session, the welcome address was presented by the Nawab of Mamdot. This was followed by the historical speech of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

The Quaid in his two hours presidential address in English narrated the events that took place in the past few months and concluded, “Hindus and the Muslims belong to two different religious philosophies, social customs and literature. They neither inter-marry nor inter-dine together, and, indeed, they belong to two different civilizations that are based mainly on conflicting ideas and conceptions. Their concepts on life and of life are different. It is quite clear that Hindus and Muslims derive their inspiration from different sources of history. They have different epics, different heroes and different episodes. Very often the hero of one is a foe of the other, and likewise, their victories and defeats overlap. To yoke together two such nations under a single state, one as a numerical minority and the other as a majority, must lead to growing discontent and final destruction of any fabric that may be so built up for the government of such a state.” He further claimed, “Mussalmans are a nation according to any definition of a nationhood. We wish our people to develop to the fullest spiritual, cultural, economic, social and political life in a way that we think best and in consonance with our own ideals and according to the genius of our people”.

During his speech, the Quaid quoted the letter written by Lala Lajpat Rai in 1924 to C.R. Das in which he mentioned that the Hindus and the Muslims were two separate and distinct nations that could never be merged into a single nation. When Malik Barkat Ali claimed that Lala Lajpat Rai was a “Nationalist Hindu leader”, Quaid responded, “No Hindu can be a nationalist. Every Hindu is a Hindu first and last.”

The Resolution

On March 23, A.K. Fazul Haq, the Chief Minister of Bengal, moved the historical Lahore Resolution. The Resolution consisted of five paragraphs and each paragraph was only one sentence long. Although clumsily worded, it delivered a clear message. The resolution declared:

While approving and endorsing the action taken by the Council and the Working Committee of the All-India Muslim League, as indicated in their resolutions dated the 27th of August, 17th and 18th of September and 22nd of October, 1939, and 3rd of February 1940, on the constitutional issue, this session of the All-India Muslim League emphatically reiterates that the scheme of Federation embodied in the Government of India Act, 1935 is totally unsuited to, and unworkable in the peculiar conditions of this country and is altogether unacceptable to Muslim India.

It further records its emphatic view that while the declaration dated the 18th of October, 1939, made by the Viceroy on behalf of His Majesty’s Government is reassuring in so far as it declares that the policy and plan on which the Government of India Act, 1935 is based will be reconsidered in consultation with the various parties, interests and communities in India, Muslim India will not be satisfied unless the whole constitutional plan is reconsidered de novo and that no revised plan would be acceptable to the Muslims unless it is framed with their approval and consent.

Resolved that it is the considered view of this session of the All-India Muslim League that no constitutional plan would be workable in this country or acceptable to Muslims unless it is designed on the following basic principle, namely, that geographically contiguous units are demarcated into regions which should be so constituted, with such territorial readjustments as may be necessary, that the areas in which the Muslims are numerically in a majority, as in the North-Western and Eastern Zones of India, should be grouped to constitute ‘Independent States’ in which the constituent units shall be autonomous and sovereign.

That adequate, effective and mandatory safeguards should be specifically provided in the constitution for minorities in these units and in these regions for the protection of their religious, cultural, economic, political, administrative and other rights and interests in consultation with them; and in other parts of India where Mussalmans are in a minority, adequate, effective and mandatory safeguard shall be specially provided in the constitution for them and other minorities for the protection of their religious, cultural, economic, political, administrative and other rights and interests in consultation with them.

This session further authorizes the Working Committee to frame a scheme of constitution in accordance with these basic principles, providing for the assumption finally by the respective regions of all powers such as defence, external affairs, communications, customs and such other matters as may be necessary.

Besides many others, the Resolution was seconded by Chaudhary Khaliquzzam from UP, Maulana Zafar Ali Khan from Punjab, Sardar Aurangzeb from the N. W. F. P, Sir Abdullah Haroon from Sindh, and Qazi Muhammad Esa from Baluchistan. Those who seconded the resolution, in their speeches declared the occasion as a historic one. The Resolution was eventually passed on the last day of the moot, i.e. March 24.

Controversies

The name Pakistan was not used in the resolution and the official name of the resolution was Lahore Resolution. It was the Hindu newspapers including Partap, Bande Matram, Milap, Tribune, etc., who ironically coined the name Pakistan Resolution. However, the idea was appreciated by the Muslim masses and the Resolution is more known as Pakistan Resolution. Secondly, the Government and the people of Pakistan wrongly celebrate March 23 as a national day in Pakistan. The actual day when the resolution was passed was March 24. It was only presented on March 23. Lastly, the word “states” and not “state” was mentioned in the Resolution. It means that the authors of the Resolution were foreseeing two separate states in the north-western and eastern zones of India. But if one has a good look at the developments that followed, he or she would conclude that either the word “states” was included as a mistake or the League leadership soon had a second thought to their idea. A Resolution passed at the 1941 Madras session of the League stated, “Everyone should clearly understand that we are striving for one independent and sovereign Muslim State.” In all the speeches that Quaid delivered, he also used the word “an independent homeland” or “an independent Muslim state”.

Hindu Reaction

The Hindu reaction was, of course, quick, bitter, and malicious. They called the “Pakistan” demand “anti-national.” They characterized it as “vivisection; above all, they denounced it as imperialist – inspired to obstruct India’s march to freedom.” In denouncing the demand outright, they, however, missed the central fact of the Indian political situation; the astonishingly tremendous response of the Pakistan demand had elicited from the Muslim masses. They also failed to take cognizance of the fact that a hundred million Muslims were now supremely conscious of their distinct nationhood and were prepared to stake everything to actualize their self-perceived destiny – the creation of an independent Muslim state in the sub-continent.

British Reaction

The British were equally hostile to the Muslim demand for at least two important reasons. First, they had long considered themselves as the architects of the unity of India and an Indian nation. Second, they had long regarded the super-imposed unity under tax Britannica as their greatest achievement and lasting contribution in history. And the Pakistan demand threatened to undo these presumed achievements on which the British had long prided. However, despite the Hindu denunciation and the British alarm, the course of Muslim, indeed Indian, politics was from now on firmly set towards Pakistan.

The All India Muslim League Resolution of March 1940, commonly known as the Pakistan Resolution, is undoubtedly the most important event that changed the course of Indian history and left deep marks on world history. With the passage of this Resolution, the Muslims of the sub-continent changed their demand from “Separate Electorates” to a “Separate State.”  This Resolution rejected the idea of a United India and the creation of an independent Muslim state was set as their ultimate goal. It gave new energy and courage to the Muslims of the region who gathered around Quaid-i-Azam from the platform of the Muslim League to struggle for their freedom. The dynamic leadership of the Quaid and the commitment and devotion of the followers made it possible for them to achieve an independent state within seven years of their struggle, and that too when the odds were against them.

23rd March Speech in English

Pakistan Resolution Day, 23rd March 1940, is one of the most significant and instrumental days in the history of Pakistan. This is a day to remember the struggles undertaken by the Muslim leaders of the subcontinent. Today, the citizens of modern day Pakistan commemorate this day to immortalize its significance and value in their history.

Respected Sir and all my fellows:

After the Lahore resolution was passed, Quaid e Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah became the most important Muslim leader of the whole subcontinent. Muslims recognized Quaid as the shepherd that will lead the Muslims to their own separate nation. He became a nationwide inspiration for Muslim to wake up from their reveries of a sunken past, and begin striving for complete and total independence from the Hindus and the British.

Respected All,

Pakistan Resolution, passed in Minto Park of Lahore, gave Muslims a rational, reachable and desirable goal: the creation of Pakistan . It served to release the fire of Independence in the hearts of the Muslims, who were all eager to make their contribution in achieving a free Muslim state, Pakistan .

That day, Quaid-e-Azam provided Muslims with a clear-cut and well-defined goal that was understood even by the simplest and most naive of Muslim minds. The call to independence was answered by a unanimous awakening that altered the course of history, and the geographic structure of the subcontinent.

When we look back at 23rd March speech of our Quaid Muhammad Ali Jinnah, we are reminded of the fact that it was this day that the great nation we live in today was created in the minds of our forefathers.

In the ending lines, I would like to urge all Pakistanis to remember the spirit, the message of 23 rd March 1940 when our forefathers vowed to achieve Pakistan, a separate country for Muslims. Now it becomes our responsibility to be united, serve and save Pakistan.

23 March Essay in English

March 23 rd , 1940 is a remarkable day in the history of Pakistan. That day, Muslims of South Asia told the world that they want nothing but recognition as a separation nation, the Muslims, and a separate country to live in freely, Pakistan .

The All-India Muslim League emerged as the major Muslim party that would lead to the creation of Pakistan. It was Pakistan Resolution Day, 23rd March 1940 when Mohammad Ali Jinnah became the Quaid-e-Azam he later came to be known as. That day he became that passionate symbol of unwavering strength that fueled the fire of Muslim unity, to the extent that the Muslims began to consider M.A Jinnah as an institution within in himself.

Before the Pakistan Resolution Day 23rd March, 1940, Jinnah’s political decisions highlighted his lifelong dream of seeing the Muslims and Hindus of the subcontinent working together, understanding each other and forming a unanimous political voice to make “ their common motherland ” one of “ the great countries of the world ”.

The Lahore Resolution marked a dynamic shift as the world saw Jinnah abandon this dream as he left Delhi to travel to Lahore in a beautifully decorated train adorned with green flags, and the crescent and star, the emblem of the Muslim League.

He chose the opening day as the occasion to address a huge public gathering of Muslim Leaguers and the Khaksars , all gathered at Minto Park to make Jinnah the leader who will guide them towards a more secure future in the subcontinent.

The man, Jinnah , who was once famous as the ambassador of Hindu-Muslim unity now became the greatest leader who feverishly advocated the Muslim’s right to self-rule and independence.

He was now the great leader of Pakistan movement, and soon it was clear to everyone, the British leadership, Gandhi, Nehru and Azad amongst others, that they have no choice but to agree to the two-nation solution; and Jinnah was resolved to achieve.

After the Pakistan Resolution Day, 23rd March 1940, it was evident to all Hindu leaders that they must submit their will to the creation of a neighboring Muslim state, which will be fully equipped to deal with them with a strong diplomatic agenda.

23 March 1940 was the day when Muslims truly gathered at a platform to make Pakistan and under Quaid’s unwavering leadership, our forefathers saw the historical moments of creation of Pakistan.

Now it’s our responsibility to endeavour for Pakistan’s prosperity and development.

May ALLAH save our beloved country Pakistan!

It is also the home to Minar-e-Pakistan, a historical abode that pays tribute to the memory of all the Muslims and their leaders who gathered up on 23rd March 1940 and demanded a separate state, along with all the suffering and hardships that came during creation of Pakistan.

It is a powerfully significant and instrumental day in our history, and every single time we look back at it, we can feel the might of the zest and valor of the Muslims who decided to put all their efforts and energies into the struggle of Independence, and the creation of their own independent state.

Pakistan Resolution Day, 23rd March 1940 is a day that tells the story of success, determination, and unwavering courage against the resistance put up by the Hindus and the British.

Today, 23 March, also known as Republic Day, serves as one of the most important dates in the history of Pakistan. Even though it took the Muslims seven more years to achieve this iconic dream that altered the world map forever, it was this day that marked the creation of Pakistan as a realistic, reasonable and justified demand. Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the other Muslim leaders who advocated and passed this resolution threw dirt in the face of all the Hindu leaders, including Gandhi, Nehru, and Azad, who ridiculed the idea of dividing India into two different states.

Pakistan Resolution Day serves as the reminder of the dynamic leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

It was the foresight and competence of Jinnah to fight for the Muslim’s right to independence. It was the power of his voice as he addressed millions of Muslims, and urged them to fight for their own independent nation.

23 March History of Pakistan in English

The Pakistan Resolution, earlier known as the Lahore Resolution, took place in Lahore’s famous Minto Park (currently known as Iqbal Park). It is a national holiday, a Republic day that is admired by Pakistanis all over the world for its significance in in the history and creation of Pakistan.

The ideology developed on 23 rd March took forward the idea of a separate state for the Muslims garnering the unwavering support of Muslims and their leaders throughout the subcontinent. It was the day that Pakistan became a crystal clear necessity for the Muslims, and it was a major milestone in the creation of the first Islamic Republic in the world.

Before this auspicious day, the Muslims had little idea or objective for their future, as Muslim leaders and politicians were all pursuing conflicted interests and goals. However, when the Muslim League took the center-stage by passing the Lahore Resolution, it sent a clear message to the Hindu Press, which started criticizing and ridiculing the idea of Pakistan.

The session of Pakistan Resolution Day, 23rd March 1940 was opened by the presentation of Nawabzada Liaquat’s annual report, after which Bengal’s Maulana Fazlul Haq passed the famous Lahore Resolution, which later became famous as the Pakistan Resolution.

“The areas in which the Muslims are numerically in a majority as in the North-Western and Eastern zones of India should be grouped to constitute ‘Independent States’ in which the constituent units shall be autonomous and sovereign.”

Choudhry Khaliquzzaman then stepped forward to second this resolution, along with giving the Muslims a brief overview of all the reasons and causes that compel them to demand a separate and independent state that is not subjected to any scrutiny or interference by any other power. All the Muslim leaders, including M.A Jinnah, Maulana Zafar Ali Khan, Sardar Aurangzeb Khan, Sir Abdullah Haroon, Nawab Ismail Khan, Qazi Mohammad Isa and I.I Chundigar amongst others, supported and advocated this resolution.

That day Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah laid the foundation for the separate Muslim state that would dispossess the Hindus the right to subjugate and suppress the Muslims of India.

In his 23 March speech, he said:

“The Hindus and the Muslims belong to two different religions, philosophies, social customs, and literature. They neither inter-marry, nor inter-dine together, and indeed they belong to two different civilizations which are based mainly on conflicting ideas and conceptions. Their aspects of life are different. It is quite clear that Hindus and Muslims derive their inspirations from different sources of history. They have different epics, their heroes are different, and they have different episodes. Very often the hero of one is a foe of the other, and likewise, their victories and defeats overlap. To yoke together two such nations under a single state, one as a numerical minority and the other as a majority must lead to growing discontent and the final destruction of any fabric that may be so built for the government of such a state.”

Jinnah’s address lasted for 100 minutes, and with every pause in his speech, Minto Park was pounded by the thunderous applause of the millions and millions of Muslims who had gathered to hear their leader plan out the future course of political action. It is interesting to note that the majority of his audience, more than 100,000 people, did not even understand Jinnah’s 23rd March speech in English, they would still be captivated and visibly touched by every single word he uttered. His repetitive assertions to create a separate Muslim nation led the Muslims of the subcontinent to believe that they were indeed “ a nation by any definition ”.

That Pakistan Day Speech by Jinnah and other Muslim leaders left Congress terrified of the power that Muslims of the subcontinent were emerging to become. It had become crystal clear that the Muslim League was now openly advocating the right for a separate Muslim state, which would naturally divide India and create two independent states. Jinnah had already taken the necessary steps to counter this Hindu opposition towards the idea of creating Pakistan, and he steered the Muslims with a courageous, iron determination, compelling them to seek the ultimate goal of political, spiritual and financial freedom.

Mr Jinnah’s friends and family who truly understood the man always believe that once this powerful man made his man, nothing on this planet could deter him from pursuing it. On that incredibly important and powerful afternoon of 23rd March 1940, Jinnah made some momentous and crowd-gripping pronouncements, and even though it would take seven more years for the rest of the world to truly understand and glorify Jinnah’s words. For the Muslims, it poured into their hearts the light of freedom and they knew that now, there is no turning back.

It was the unshakable leadership of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and the firm dedication of Muslims of South Asia toward their goal which we saw on 14 August, 1947 in the form of Pakistan.

Pakistan Resolution Day – 23rd March 1940

The people of Pakistan celebrate the 23rd of March, every year, with great zeal and enthusiasm, to commemorate the most outstanding achievement of sub-continent Muslims who passed the historic Pakistan Resolution on this day at Minto Park, Lahore in 1940.

The Lahore Pakistan Resolution, also known as Karar Datey Pakistan, was indeed a landmark in the history of the Muslims of the sub-continent. Before this, the Muslims of the subcontinent had no goal and no future in view, and Muslim politics remained in the hands of individuals with conflicting interests and inclinations.

As soon as the Lahore Resolution was passed by the Muslim League, the Hindu press started criticizing the Muslim League and declared this resolution the Pakistan Resolution.

The personality of Mohammad Ali Jinnah was also criticized by the Hindus and their prominent leaders. Mohammad Ali Jinnah gained nationwide popularity after the Lahore Resolution because the Muslims of India had a lot of expectations from him, and he was the only source of inspiration for the Muslims.

The All India Muslim League played a vital role in the creation of Pakistan in the year 1940. The Muslim League had become a stronger political party for the Muslims of the Indo-Pak Subcontinent, under which the Muslims were struggling for a separate homeland for them. By this time, the great leader of the Muslims, Mohammad Ali Jinnah, had become the lining symbol of Muslim unity and Muslim politics, and the Muslims had so completely centered on him that he had become almost an institution in himself.

Pakistan resolution day

23 March 1940, Lahore, Pakistan Resolution Day

In the words of Quaid-i-Azam , “ Hindus and Muslims belong to two different religions, philosophies, social customs, and literature. They are neither intermarried nor interdine, and indeed, they belong to two different civilizations that are based mainly on conflicting ideas and conceptions. Their concepts of life and of life are different. It is quite clear that Hindus and Muslims derive their inspiration from different sources of history. They have different epics, different heroes, and different episodes.

The resolution which was passed at the session reads: “ No constitutional plan would be workable or acceptable to the Muslims unless geographical contiguous units are demarcated into regions which should be so constituted with such territorial readjustments as may be necessary. That the areas in which the Muslims are numerically in majority as in the North-Western and Eastern zones of India should be grouped to constitute independent states in which the constituent units shall be autonomous and sovereign ”.

It further reads, “ Adequate, effective, and mandatory safeguards shall be specifically provided in the constitution for minorities in the units and in the regions for the protection of their religious, cultural, economic, political, administrative, and other rights, with their consultation. Arrangements thus should be made for the security of Muslims where they are in a minority. ”.

The Resolution turned down the concept of United India and recommended the creation of an independent Muslim state consisting of Punjab, N. W. F. P. (now Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), Sindh and Balochistan in the northwest, and Bengal and Assam in the northeast. The majority of Pakistanis, especially the youth, are patriots and follow in the footsteps of Quaid-e-Azam, but unfortunately, the Pakistani government has, from time to time, messed up the ideology of Pakistan completely. In 1940, the Muslims decided their destiny; hence, not the way it is in the present, 2014, everything is opposite and messed up completely.

Last year, the Balochistan Liberation Army ( BLA ) Blew off  Quaid’s Residency , which was sad and shameful for the government. Only one guard was assigned to take care of this treasure, but that’s not all. You won’t believe what’s happening at Mazar-e-Quaid. I am sure that after watching these two posts and the videos, you will become a rebel against the government.

Quaid-e-Azam always spoke about justice, but that does not exist anymore for the ordinary Pakistani at all.  Governments are so corrupt that even election rigging cannot be sorted out. Billions and trillions of dollars are going where no ordinary Pakistan can tell, but we still have the education, health, and necessities issues lying in front of us.

Where is Quaid’s Pakistan? Why only youth care and nobody else even remembers what he said and what Pakistan should’ve been by now? In 1960, “Pakistan was about to be the Asian Tigers,” one of the leading South Asian countries in the region, but after the fall of Dhaka, everything changed.

Until 1973, there was no authentic constitution in the country. Although the 1958 Constitution existed, I don’t know who or how it was practiced. 1973’s constitution changed for an ordinary man in Pakistan.

Don’t blame the youth for the wrong decisions and plans. The government is busy somewhere else while distributing laptops and loans with interest, which is Haram in Islam for the youth.

Still, we have the chance to save Pakistan from these corrupt people in power. You and I make the difference; trust me, we live and die for our motherland, and we have that same spirit to lead our country proudly. InshaAllah, we will succeed.

Take care of Pakistan, and Quaid’s dream will come true. Love Live Pakistan.

23 March: Resolution Day, SMS, Poetry, Speeches & Parade

Photo of Shakila Nasreen

23rd March is celebrated with great enthusiasm as a Pakistan Resolution Day or simply Lahore Resolution Day across the land. It is also remembered as “Qarardad-e-Lahore in history. Since Pakistan does not officially publish the Lahore Resolution on 23rd March in the newspapers many people are unaware of its importance. Many people still do not know what was proposed on this day by the Muslim League. Let me explain it in detail.

On the same day, the Muslims from all over British India gathered at Manto Park Lahore where you can see Minar-e-Pakistan today. The then Manto Park witnessed a huge gathering of Muslims for the demand of a separate homeland for a free life. All the members of Muslim League gathered here under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam for neck or nothing.

The Muslims passed a resolution on 23rd March 1940 at Manto Park Lahore, and the Resolution was, “The democratic systems working in England where homogeneous nation lives are not applicable to a heterogeneous society like India. It is admitted that In India, there are various nations. The Muslims are not safe here, and a separate homeland for their survival is unavoidable. So, the constitution must be evolved as India is vast enough to be divided into two parts. The Muslims constitute a big minority, and they are in large number to constitute a nation.”

The British rulers and Congress felt the power of Muslims, and finally, Pakistan came into existence on 14th August 1947. It is a great blessing of God that we are living a free life. So, let’s celebrate Pakistan Resolution Day with enthusiasm to show the world our passion for Pakistan being united today.

23 March 1940 is a historic day for Pakistanis as it marks the day when the Muslims of Sub continent decided to get independence from British rule and create a new country for them in the east and west of India. It was a momentous occasion that changed the course of history for Pakistan and its people. Shair Bengal Molvi Fazal ul Haq presented the Pakistan resolution on 23 March, 2022 at Minto Park Lahore in annual meeting of All India Muslim League presided by Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. About 100000 people attended this meeting and passed the resolution unanimously. Word of Pakistan was not present in this resolution as it was named Lahore resolution but Hindu press gave it the name of Pakistan resolution, which was accepted by Muslim of India. Muslim leader from all provinces of India attended this meeting of AIML and supported the resolution. Just Begum Muhammad Ali Johar used the word of Pakistan once in her speech. Chaudary Rehmat Ali suggested the word Pakistan for new proposed separate country for Muslims of India in 1933.

Importance of 23 March Pakistan Day

Pakistan day is a public holiday in the country to commemorate the Lahore Resolution of 1940 when the Muslim League demanded a separate homeland for Muslims in British India. The day is also celebrated as National Day or Republic Day in some parts of the country.

Why I Love Pakistan?

Pakistan is a country that is rich in culture and heritage. The people of of this country are very friendly and hospitable. The landscape of Pakistan is also very beautiful with the Himalayas the Karakoram range and the Indus river all running through the country. Pakistan is also home to some of the world’s most iconic buildings such as the Badshahi Mosque and the Lahore Fort. I have always been interested in my country and its culture and I am very proud to be Pakistani.

Celebrations on 23 March Pakistan Day

23 March is anniversary of the Pakistan Resolution which was passed by the Muslim League at the Lahore Conference in 1940 and called for the establishment of an independent Muslim state in the then British Raj. The holiday is celebrated all over Pakistan with flag-hoisting ceremonies parades and cultural events. In Islamabad the main celebrations take place at the tomb of Allama Iqbal Pakistan’s co-founder where a wreath-laying ceremony is held.

How I Spent 23 March Pakistan Day?

I usually spend my Pakistan day with family and friends. We would have a big breakfast together catch up on news and gossip and watch patriotic movies and TV shows. In the afternoon we would go out for a picnic or to the park and in the evening we would have a barbecue. This year however due to the pandemic we had to stay home. So we spent the day playing games eating Pakistani food and chatting online with our extended family and friends. It was a fun day even though it was different from what we’re used to.

How to Celebrate Pakistan Day on 23 March?

There is no one definitive way to celebrate Pakistan day, but some popular activities include visiting historical landmarks (like Minar e Pakistan, Quaid e Azam tomb, Allama Iqbal tomb) eating traditional food, and participating in cultural activities. We should share patriotic posts on our social media accounts. Educational institutes should conduct debate and essay writing competitions. We should inform our family members about the importance of this historic day.

Conclusion On 23 March we should remember that 23 March was republic day initially, but it was changed in to Pakistan day after first martial law in Pakistan. On this day we should commit that we shall protect both Pakistan and democracy.

Pakistan day (23rd March) Speech in English - The Pakistan Resolution Day

23rd march   pakistan day  .

Honorable Principal, Worthily Judges, Respected teachers, and my dear fellows

Assalam-o-Alaikum!

Today, the topic of my speech is 23rd March -- Pakistan Day

Dear fellows!

23rd March is a very important day in the histo ry of Pakistan. This is the day on which the Pakistan resolution was passed by the Muslims of the Sub-Continent. Today is the day when Muslims demanded a separate country from the British. It was a dark time for Muslims. If they left their demand for a separate homeland they would have disappeared from the Sub-Continent. Hindus were in the majority and Muslims had been facing Hindu prejudice for a long time. They were different from Hindus. Both could not eat together or pray together and their whole lifestyle was different from Hindus.

Worthily guests!

At this hard moment, Quaid e Azam, Muhammad Ali Jinnah stood up for Muslims and demanded that Muslims should have their own country. A country where they can worship according to Islam.

Worthily Judges!

Today we are here to remember that great day that made Pakistan a possibility and then a reality.

Let's pray together that we make this country proud with our efforts.

Thank   you and Happy Pakistan Day to All

23 March Pakistan Day In Urdu Speech With Poetry PDF

Here on this page, I have written 23 March Pakistan Day In Urdu Speech With Poetry PDF. You can also read online and save this essay on your mobile or PC in image format. So the reading is starting from here…When the first person of the Sub Continent became Muslim, Indeed he became a member of the second nation, and that day two nations came into existence, one is Hindu and second Muslims. This concept of a separate entity of Hindu and Muslims has become the claim of Pakistan and moment of Pakistan and this concept was delivered in the form of resolution in the annual session of the Muslim League on 23rd March in 1940, which is known as Resolution of Pakistan or Lahore Resolution.

23 March Pakistan Day In Urdu Speech

In the historical session of 23rd March, Sher-e-Bangla Maulvi A.K. Fazl-ul-Haq addressed the Lahore resolution, and Chaudhry Khaliquzzaman, Sir Zafar Ali Khan, Sir Abdullah Haroon, Sardar Aurangzaib Khan, Nawab Ismail Khan, and Qazi Muhammad Isa authenticate this resolution. Lahore Resolution consisted of four hundred words and four paragraphs. In Lahore Resolution it was said that the All India Muslim League suggested that any Constitution Contract will not be practiced and not be accepted by Muslims only when it does not consist of the below criteria. Like the separation of attached geographical boundaries in those areas where the Muslims are in majority, for example, the North-west and east areas of India will actualize into an independent homestead.

Moreover, in these areas, the respect of the minority’s religion, culture, economy, organizing, and other rights should be protected and should be discussed in detail in the constitution. When the Lahore resolution was accepted, Indian newspapers and Hindu leaders have to talk against it. The very next day, Partaab, Malapa, Tribune, and many other Indian newspapers have named Lahore resolution into Resolution of Pakistan even there was no single word “Pakistan” was used in that 23rd March 1940 resolution.

Speech On 23rd March 1940 In Urdu Essay Pakistan Resolution Day

In the presidential speech of 21st March, Quaid-e-Azam said that ‘Hindu and Muslims belong to two different religious, cultural and educational histories. These two nations can’t tie the knot to each other even they can’t sit together. Life and the concept of living are totally different from each other. Besides this both have different heroes and histories, both have changed perspectives. It is wrong to merge these nations into one nation. Muslims are a separate nation, whatever is the definition of a nation, and Muslims are ebbed to a separate nation so they should have a separate country and homeland where the government should be in their own hands. Pakistan was come into being when the first Hindu embraced Islam. This is the talk of that time when Muslims hadn’t built their empire. Muslim’s nationality is based on the Kalma Tauheed instead of homeland or cast.

After the commencement of this resolution, the attempt of Muslims to the establishment of Pakistan was properly shaped and they became more aggressive. Sacrifices of our ancestors, women, and children for the sake of separation of Pakistan have proved that they are a Muslim nation and deserve a homeland where they can spend their lives according to the Islamic concepts of life. So, we can say that this revolution boosted the spirits of Muslims and in the end, Pakistan became an independent state on 14th August 1947.

2 Minute Short speech on Holi for students

Greetings everyone,

Today, I want to talk about Holi, the vibrant festival of colours! Celebrated in the spring season, Holi is more than just throwing colours; it signifies the triumph of good over evil, the blossoming of new beginnings, and the strengthening of bonds.

The festivities begin with Holika Dahan, a symbolic bonfire representing the burning of negativity. The next day, streets come alive with a kaleidoscope of colours as people playfully chase and smear each other with vibrant powders and water balloons. The laughter and joy are contagious, breaking down barriers and fostering a sense of community.

Holi is not just about fun, though. It's a time to mend broken relationships, seek forgiveness, and connect with loved ones over delicious traditional sweets like Gujiya and Thandai.

So, as we celebrate Holi, let's embrace its spirit of joy, togetherness, and new beginnings. May the colours of Holi paint our lives with happiness and hope.

Long Speech On Holi 2024

I stand before you today to delve into the vibrant world of Holi, the festival of colours, celebrated with immense joy and enthusiasm across India and other parts of the world. Holi transcends its playful surface, carrying deep-rooted cultural significance and timeless messages.

A Tale of Triumph and Renewal

Holi's story can be traced back to the legend of King Hiranyakashyap, an arrogant ruler who sought immortality and demanded his subjects worship him as God. His pious son, Prahlad, refused, remaining loyal to Lord Vishnu. Enraged, the King hatched several plans to kill Prahlad, each failing due to divine intervention. Finally, Hiranyakashyap's sister, Holika, who possessed a boon to be immune to fire, agreed to enter a pyre with Prahlad on her lap. However, the fire backfired, burning Holika and saving Prahlad, symbolizing the victory of good over evil and righteousness over arrogance. This event is commemorated on the eve of Holi with Holika Dahan, the bonfire representing the burning of negativity.

A Tapestry of Colours

The primary day of Holi, also known as Rangwali (meaning "coloured"), is an explosion of vibrant hues. People of all ages, social backgrounds, and faiths come together, armed with dry colours (gulal) and water balloons filled with coloured water. Streets transform into a playful battleground, filled with laughter, shrills, and the joyous spirit of camaraderie. The colours, symbolic of spring's arrival and nature's rejuvenation, are not merely pigments; they represent different aspects of life:

Red: signifies love and passion.

Yellow: embodies optimism and new beginnings.

Green: represents growth and harmony with nature.

Blue: denotes calmness and peace.

Holi transcends religious boundaries, promoting a sense of unity and equality as everyone gets drenched in the same colours. It's a time to shed inhibitions, forgive past grievances, and embrace new beginnings.

Beyond the Playful Exterior

Holi is not just about the exuberant festivities. It offers valuable lessons:

The importance of community: Holi fosters a sense of belonging and strengthens the social fabric by bringing people together irrespective of their social status or background.

The spirit of forgiveness: Holi encourages us to let go of past grudges and embrace forgiveness, fostering a sense of peace and harmony.

Celebrating life's vibrancy: The colours of Holi remind us to embrace the diverse and vibrant nature of life, appreciating its richness and beauty.

Holi is more than just a festival; it's an experience that transcends cultural and religious limitations. It's a celebration of life, harmony, and the triumph of good over evil. As we partake in this vibrant festival, let us carry its message of unity, forgiveness, and new beginnings throughout the year, making our lives and the world around us a little more colourful and joyful.
