Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja has teamed up with his buddies Gunasekhar and Y.V.S.Chowdhary to come up with the film ‘Nippu’. The movie has Deeksha Seth as the heroine and Thaman has scored the music. Gunasekhar is the director and Y.V.S.Chowdhary is the producer. Let us see how the movie stacks up.

Surya (Ravi Teja) is a gym coach and he is very close to Sri (Sriram) and his family. Murthy (Rajendra Prasad) is Sri’s father and Meghana (Deeksha Seth) is his sister. Surya is a man who fights against any injustice he comes across and this brings him into direct conflict with Raja Goud ( Pradeep Rawat). In a separate track, Sriram gets into major trouble in Saudi Arabia and Ravi Teja must do everything he can to save his friend’s life.

In a curious twist of fate, only Raja Goud has the ability to save Sriram from certain death. Will Surya enter into a compromise with Raja Goud? How can Raja Goud save a man in trouble in Saudi Arabia? That forms the story

Plus Points :

Ravi Teja pulls off another highly energetic characterization with ease and one wonders how he manages to keep up those incredible energy levels so consistently. His trademark dialogue delivery and mannerisms are in full flow and his performance will bring cheer to his fans.

Deeksha Seth looks gorgeous and she actually acts pretty well. Together, Ravi Teja and Deeksha make for a good onscreen pair and their chemistry is good.Their romantic track has some highly entertaining moments. Brahmanandam brings a few laughs as Kasi.

Pradeep Rawat and Sriram are good in their respective roles. Brahmaji brings about a few laughs. I have said this before and will say it again. Why doesn’t the industry make better use of Brahmaji’s brilliant comic timing? Dharmavarapu has a brief but good presence. Director Harish Shankar makes a cameo appearance. Mukul Devi is ok.

The movie proceeds at a fairly rapid pace and there are hardly any boring moments in the film. You may not agree with some of the sequences but you definitely will not get bored. Some of the scenes are really entertaining and Ravi Teja’s punch dialogues work to good effect. Bommarillu spoof between Rajendra Prasad and Brahmanandam came out hilariously well. Some of the songs have been picturized well.

Minus Points :

Veteran artiste Rajendra Prasad is actually wasted in a role that has neither screen presence nor importance. Same is the case with Krishnudu. One wonders why he was even brought into this project for such an insignificant role. Jayaprakash Reddy fails to make an impact.

Master Bharath has lost tons of weight and consequently, all of his screen presence. His chubby looks were a major asset and it remains to be seen how will adapt his comic timing to suit his new lean frame. Geeta Singh is irritating in a cameo role.

The narration could have been a lot better. There is no smooth flow in the movie and the story keeps shifting back and forth in a very jerky way. The end to Sriram’s problems and the subsequent quarrel with Pradeep Rawat is not convincingly shown.

Visual effects are disastrous and some of the ‘stunts’ shot on Ravi Teja, like the one where he keeps jumping across trucks with a bike, will make you want to bang your head in frustration.

Technical Aspects :

Gunasekhar has shown brilliance in patches but he really needs to let go of his fascination for outrageous and unbelievable action sequences. He should have taken better care in terms of narration and screenplay. This movie does not have the typical Gunasekhar stamp. Cinematography is average and lighting is poor.

Dialogues are very good and Akula Siva has done a superb job. Editing by Goutam Raju is atrocious. Better Editing would have made a tremendous difference to this movie. Thaman’s background score is ok but music is strictly average. Dances have a typical Ravi Teja flavour to them and they are ok.

Normal fight sequences are good and they have been shot well. It is only when the special effects come into picture that the effect is spoilt.

Nippu is a movie that has many things going for it. But it also has some equally irritating flaws. Better care in narration and screenplay, coupled with smoother editing would have made the movie highly entertaining. On the whole, Nippu ends up as just a watchable formula Ravi Teja film. Go without expectations and do not look for logic in the movie.

Nippu Movie Review

Behind the Movie Nippu: Combination of Raviteja, Gunasekhar and Chowdary raised some excitement on this flick which released today. Known for mass entertainers Raviteja has taken up this friendly project with the rest of two. Let us see, how strong and how hot is the flame of this ‘Nippu’?

In The Movie Nippu: Suri (Raviteja) is an aimless youth who has best friend in the form of Sri Ram (Sri Ram). As per the regular formula of Tollywood, our hero Suri falls in love with Meghana (Deeksha Seth) who is none other than the sister of Sri Ram and is daughter to Murthi (Rajendra Prasad). Time for a twist as Sri Ram who works in Dubai is acquitted for the murder of his girl friend Vaishnavi (Bhavana). As Dubai Judiciary announces death sentence to Sri Ram, here Suri takes up the task to release his friend by getting a letter of excuse from Vaishnavi’s parents Peddanna aka Raja Goud (Pradeep Rawat), a goon in Suryapet and Surekhamma (Ashwini Khalsekar). Actual fact is that, death of Vaishnavi is just an accident and Sri Rama is innocent.

From here on Suri with the help of his friends and Meghana etch out plans to get close to Raja Goud using his rival Shankar Kaka (Mukul Dev) as the pawn. Did Suri succeed in this? Is Sri Ram saved? How did Murthi react to all these sequences? What happened to the love story of Suri with Meghana forms the rest.

Values of the Movie Nippu: Director Gunasekhar after a long time has come up with this story of friendship. Unfortunately scripting made the flick to fall a sleep for most of time. The actual concept or core element failed to register till a very long hour in the movie. Dialogues by Akula Siva and Sreedhar Seepana could not do much. Best part of the film is Sarvesh Murari’s cinematography which stood outstanding in canning the action scenes. Music by Thaman is also mediocre. Editing of Goutham Raju could have been better in first half. Production values of Chowdary and Bommarillu are cool. 

Performance wise, Raviteja is no different. His ease in delivering comical punches for masses or performing dare bare action scenes is appreciative. Of course, this is not new for Mass Maharaja. Surprising element is Deeksha Seth has got a chance to perform other than just looking glamorous. Though unable to maintain any sort of lip sync with dialogues, Deeksha proved that she has some substance to act. While Rajendra Prasad is dignified; Pradeep Rawat, Mukul Dev were routine and Srikanth has got habituated stuff. Comedy done by Brahmi, Brahmaji and Supreet is unimpressive and irritating.                         

Out of the Movie Nippu: Those who are looking for formula entertaining stuff from Raviteja might accept some portion of the flick but rest is not worthwhile. Gunasekhar has shown imbalance without giving any justification in either showcasing the friendship or emotional family drama or romantic angle in story. Narration which demanded a straight format was made complex. Lack of quality comedy and forced insertion of mass mannerisms for Raviteja did not do well for the flick. Chasing scenes or Bike jumping on Trucks proved to be absolutely obsolete action portions which raised good laughter. 

First half of the flick runs more on silly comedy episodes till the conflict point is exposed by interval bang. Second half is better dealt on emotional basis and is a better half than first. Time when Gunasekhar begins to show his mark just before pre-climax, it’s late by then as patrons lose the excitement.      

Commercial working out of ‘Nippu’ depends upon how ‘B’ and ‘C’ centre audience take up this story and characterization of Raviteja. Else this is just average or call it below average show from master film makers like Gunasekhar and Chowdary

The 2012 Indian action movie Nippu was written and directed by Gunasekhar and produced by YVS Chowdary under his Bommarillu brand. starring Ravi Teja and Deeksha Seth, with S. Thaman’s music

The protagonist of the story is Surya (Ravi Teja), a gym owner who is friendly with Sriram (Sriram). Meghna (Deeksha Seth), the sister of Sriram, is in love with Surya, and after playing some cat-and-mouse games, so is she. After some time, Vaishnavi (Bhavana) and Sriram fall in love while Sriram is working in Saudi Arabia.

Gunasekhar wrote and directed the action film Nippu (2012), which was produced by YVS Chowdary under the Bommarillu banner. starring Ravi Teja and Deeksha Seth, and featuring music by S. Thaman

Surya (Ravi Teja), a gym owner who gets along with Sriram (Sriram), is the story’s main character. Sriram’s sister Meghna (Deeksha Seth) has fallen in love with Surya, and after some cat-and-mouse games, so has she. While Sriram is working in Saudi Arabia, Vaishnavi (Bhavana) and Sriram eventually have a romantic relationship.

Ravi Teja, Gunasekhar and Y. V. S. Chowdary, who were roommates during their struggling days before their entry into cinema decided to make a film together. After his film Varudu, Gunasekhar announced this project. The film’s title was announced initially as Kathi, but after facing problems from the Nandamuri family Gunasekar gave up the title and changed it to “Nippu”.

పండగ సీజన్లో ఏ సినిమా వచ్చినా దాని మీద దృష్టి పడుతుంది. కాస్త పెద్ద హీరో ఉంటే చూడాలనిపిస్తుంది అది డబ్బింగైనా సరే. సోలో రిలీజైతే ఆ తరహా సినిమాకి మరింత కలిసొస్తుంది. అజిత్ హీరోగా వచ్చిన తాజా సినిమాకి అలాగే కలిసొచ్చింది. పెద్దగా హైప్ లేకపోయినా కేవలం సోలో రిలీజవ్వడం చేత ప్రేక్షకులు థియేటర్స్ వైపు అడుగులు వేశారు. 

టైటిల్ "తెగింపు" అన్నా కూడా పండగ మూడ్ లో పోస్టర్ మీద అజిత్ ని చూసి హల్లోకి వెళ్లిన ప్రేక్షకుల పరిస్థితి ఎలా ఉందో చూద్దాం. 

దర్శకుడు చెప్పదలచుకున్న పాయింట్ బ్యాంకు మోసాలు, ఆ ట్రాపులో పడి కష్టార్జితాన్ని పోగొట్టుకుని ఏడ్చే మధ్యతరగతి వాళ్ల జీవితాలు. అయితే ఈ పాయింట్ ని కథగా మలచడంలో పూర్తిగా విఫలమయ్యాడు. 

సినిమా మొదలవడమే కొన్ని వేల కోట్ల స్కాం కు సంబంధించిన వార్తలు టీవీల్లో ప్రసారమవుతుంటాయి. కట్ చేస్తే ఒక డాన్ లాంటి వాడు స్విమ్మింగ్ పూల్లో అమ్మాయిలతో ఉంటే కబడ్డి ఆటలో "కబడ్డి కబడ్డి" అని అరిచే టైపులు "సీబీఐ సీబీఐ"  అని అరుస్తూ కొంతమంది సీబీఐ ఆఫీసర్స్ అక్కడికొచ్చి అతన్ని అరెస్ట్ చేస్తారు. 

వెంటనే ఒక బ్యాంకులో దాచి పెట్టి ఉన్న 1500 కోట్లు రాబరీ చేయడానికి మరొక ముఠా ప్రణాళికలు సిద్ధం చేస్తుంటుంది (క్రమంగా వాళ్లకి ఆ బ్యాంకులో ఉన్నది 1500 కోట్లు కాదు 25000 కోట్లు అని తెలుస్తుంది లేండి). 

ఆ వెంటనే ప్లాన్ ప్రకారం రాబరీ సన్నివేశం మొదలవుతుంది. ఈ సన్నివేశం ఇంటర్వల్ దాకా ఉంటుంది. మీరు చదివింది నిజమే. దాదాపు గంట సేపు సింగిల్ సీన్ అన్నమాట. ఆ సీన్లోనే మరొక దోపిడీదారుడుగా అజిత్ ప్రవేశించండం, పబ్జీ గేం ఆడుతున్నట్టుగా గన్స్ తో చిత్రవిచిత్ర విన్యాసాలు చేస్తూ ప్రత్యర్ధి ముఠాని చంపేస్తుండడం జరుగుతుంది. బ్యాంకులో బిక్కుబిక్కుమంటున్న హోస్టేజెస్, బయటినుంచి పోలీసులతో ఫోన్ మంతనాలు, మరో పక్క ఒక టీవీ చానల్ హెడ్ తో కామెడీలాంటి (కామెడీ మాత్రం కాదు) సీన్లు ఏవేవో వస్తుంటాయి. 

చివరిదాకా ఇదే తంతు జరిగి ఒక చిన్నపాటి ఫ్లాష్ బ్యాక్ చెప్పి ఆ తర్వాత బ్యాంకులు జనాన్ని ఎలా మోసం చేస్తున్నాయో చెప్తాడు. ఆ తర్వాత ఆ 25000 కోట్ల డబ్బుని పట్టిస్తాడు. 

తెలుగులోకి డబ్బింగైనా కూడా అర్థం కాని అరవ సంభాషణల్లాగ అనిపించే కొన్ని సీన్లున్నాయి. డబ్బింగ్ రాసిన విధానం అంత దయనీయంగా ఉంది. సబ్మెరీన్ అంటే సింపుల్ గా అర్థమయ్యే రోజుల్లో జలాంతర్గామి అనే పదం పదే పదే వాడడం, టీవీ చానల్ హెడ్ కి ఒక ఎస్సై కి మధ్యన జరిగే అర్థం పర్థం లేని అయోమయ సంభాషణ, "వెనక్కి తిరిగితే ఎక్స్ క్లూజివ్ గా చేస్తా" లాంటి డబుల్ మీనింగ్ పైత్యపు డైలాగ్, అస్సలు పసలేని పాచిపోయిన పాత చింతకాయలాంటి పాటలోని సాహిత్యం..వెరసి ప్రేక్షకులని దిక్కుతోచక దిక్కులు చూసుకునేలా చేస్తాయి. 

అలాగే ఆర్మీ ఆఫీసర్స్ సీన్లోకి దిగి పోలీసాఫీసర్ కి గన్ పెట్టి కూర్చోపెడతారు, పైగా రాకెట్ లాంచర్స్ లాంటివి పెట్టి లోపల హోస్టేజెస్ ఉన్నా కూడా బ్యాంకుని పేల్చేస్తుంటారు. తాము చూస్తున్నది ఆర్మీ ఆఫీసర్స్ నా, సుపారీ రౌడీలనా అనేది అర్థం కాక ఆడియన్స్ బుర్రగోక్కోవాల్సిందే. మరొక సీన్లో ఫైరింజన్ లో డబ్బు నోట్లు పెట్టి వాటిని రోడ్డు మీద వెదజల్లుతాడు అజిత్! ఈ సీనేంటో సాధారణ మెదళ్ళకి అందదు. 

ఈ సినిమాకి ప్రధాన విలన్ రచయిత కం దర్శకుడు అయిన హెచ్ వినోద్. ఇంత లో-ఐక్యూతో కథ, స్క్రీన్ ప్లే రాసుకోవడం నిజంగా తెగింపే. ఈ స్క్రిప్టుని ఓకే చేయడం బోనీ కపూర్, అజిత్ ల తెగింపే. ఏం చూసుకుని ఈ సినిమా తీయడానికి దిగారో, ఏమి ఆశించి ఇంత కష్టపడ్డారో ఊహిస్తేనే జాలేస్తుంది. భారీ యాక్షన్ సన్నివేశాలు పెట్టేస్తే చాలు..కథ, కాకరకాయ అక్కర్లేదు అని ఒక సామూహిక నిర్ణయానికి వచ్చి తెగించారేమో. 

కెమెరా వర్క్ మాత్రం చాలా రిచ్ గా ఉంది. పాటలో సంగీతం పరమ చెత్తలా ఉంది. సెకండాఫులో వచ్చే ఈ ఊకదంపుడు ట్యూన్ కనీసం రెండు దశాబ్దాల క్రితం అటకెక్కించి ఇప్పుడు బూజు దులిపి దింపినట్టుంది. బ్యాక్ గ్రౌండ్ స్కోర్ కూడా ఈ కాలం నాటి సినిమాల స్టాండర్డ్ లో లేదు. 

సింగిల్ లొకేషన్లో 90% సినిమాని లేపేసి మిగతాది సముద్రంలోనూ, ఒకటి రెండు ఇండోర్ లొకేషన్స్ లోనూ లాగించేశారు. 

ఎక్కడా ఎమోషన్ కానీ, హత్తుకునే సన్నివేశం కానీ ఉండదు. అజిత్ బ్యాక్ స్టోరీ చూపించినా కూడా అర్ధం కాని పరిస్థితి. అసలు మంజు వారియర్ పాత్ర ఏమిటో కూడా క్లారిటీ లేదు. అజయ్, సముద్రఖని రొటీన్ పద్ధతిలో తమ పని తాము చేసుకుపోయారు. అజిత్ మాత్రం కాసేపు సీరియస్ గా, కాసేపు సిల్లీగా కనిపించాడు. 

ఈ డిజిటల్ యుగంలో ఒక సాధారణ బ్యాంకులో 25000 కోట్లు ఉండడం సాధ్యమా? ఉంటే గింటే రిజర్వ్ బ్యాంకులో ఉండాలి కానీ ఒక మామూలు ప్రైవేట్ బ్యాంకు బ్రాంచ్ లో ఉండడం అసాధ్యం. ఈ బేసిక్ కామన్ సెన్స్ కూడా లేకుండా తీసుకుపోయాడు సినిమాని. 

ఎలా చూసుకున్నా "తెగింపు" చూడడానికి చాలా తెగింపు ఉండాలి. పండగ సీజన్లో మూడాఫ్ చేసే సినిమా ఇది. ఎంత హార్డ్ కోర్ అజిత్ ఫ్యాన్స్ కి అయినా కూడా విసుగెత్తించగలిగే సామర్ధ్యం ఈ చిత్రానికి ఉంది.

Dasara Movie Review: Raw and Rustic

Nani had never spoken so confidently about a film or toured across India to promote it before 'Dasara.' The film has received a lot of attention in recent weeks. Nani's promotion of the film gave the impression that it would be a major milestone. Is it really that good?

Let us look into it.

Story: Set in the 1990s in a village called Veerlapally in the Singareni coal mine area, the film begins with the story of three childhood friends, Dharani (Nani), Soori (Deekshith Shetty), and Vennela (Keerthy Suresh).

The villagers are always drinking and spend most of their time at Silk bar. Local politics between Rajanna (Saikumar), Shivanna(Samuthirakani) and the latter's son Chinna Nambi (Shine Tom Chacko) threaten to disrupt their lives.

What effect does a political leader's game plan have on the lives of the three friends?

Artistes’ Performances: For this film, Nani reinvented himself. He played a rustic character for the first time, which was unlike any of his previous roles. He sinks into the role and delivers an amazing outcome. The effort he has put in for the role is evident throughout, and he is the film's main pillar.

The award-winning actress Keerthy Suresh delivers another believable performance in the author-backed role. She is the central character around whom the plot revolves.

Deekshith Shetty, who plays the hero's friend, gives an effective performance. Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko has also given a good performance. There are many actors, but none of them receive adequate recognition.

Technical Excellence: The film's cinematography is the first thing that stands out because the film is entirely set in a coal mine. The dark color palette of the color scheme works so well with Sooryan's imaginative camera work.

The music by Santosh Narayanan yields mixed results. The production design is flawless, and the production values are excellent. The dialogues are neat.

Analysis "Dasara" makes its intentions clear from the start, with the hero entering the scene in a coal mine area and his friend assisting him. The scene establishes the story's theme of friendship, and gradually introduces the lives of the two friends, as well as the villagers addicted to alcohol in the coal mine area. It is also quickly established that the two friends are in love with the same girl, Keerthy Suresh. So, the first sections are predictable and move at a slow pace.

However, the film is more about creating atmosphere and focusing on characters than it is about plot. The design of the hero's character is impressive. He's timid and only gains courage when he consumes alcohol. And when he drinks, he loses control and can do whatever he wants. This characteristic trait of the protagonist is used so effectively in the later portions of the film, including the interval twist.

Additionally, there are cultural and social references that are properly established, such as women in Telangana performing Bhatukamma during the Dasara festival and Ravana's effigy being burnt on the festival day. The director effectively employs these cultural aspects in his storytelling.

If we take these elements out of the film, it becomes more or less a typical revenge drama. Srikanth Odela, the new director, has prioritized mood and visual palette over story.

The film's biggest surprise is the interval bang. The pre-interval chase sequence and the intermission bang are handled expertly, revealing the villain's true intentions at the start of the second half. As a consequence, the remainder becomes more predictable, and many sequences are bland. The running time is also too long, and the film definitely needs sharp editing.

Furthermore, the film, whether intentionally or unintentionally, attempts to follow the template of "Rangasthalam," but lacks the gripping screenplay that the Sukumar movie had. Caste politics are also mentioned in the film, but they are not properly established.

Additionally, the period (probably set in the 1990s) is shown as if it happened in the 60's or 70's, even though most villages had more modern facilities by the 1990s, even in remote coal mine areas.

Overall, "Dasara" is a regular revenge drama that relies more on visual style and grand making than the plot. It is watchable because of its ambition and Nani’s performance.
