Answer all the questions in Section I and only five questions from Section II.
Show all the steps in your calculations, giving your answers at each stage in the spaces provided below each question.
Marks may be given for correct working even if the answer is wrong.
Non-programmable silent electronic calculators and KNEC Mathematical tables may be used, except where stated otherwise.
Candidates should answer the questions in English.

SECTION I (50 marks)

Answer all the questions in this section in the spaces provided.

A flour milling company has two types of flour for making porridge, maize flour and millet flour. Maize flour costs Ksh 60 per kilogram and millet flour costs Ksh 90 per kilogram. The milling company makes a new brand of flour by mixing maize flour and millet flour. If the new brand costs ksh 85 per kilogram, determine the percentage of maize flour in the mixture. (3 marks)
The sum of the first two terms of an increasing Geometric Progression (GP) is 20. The sum of the second tem and the third term of the same GP is 30. Determine the common ratio of the GP. (4 marks)
Given that sin 75° =- 6+√2 Simplify 4 Sin750 (2 marks)
Expand the expression (1- 3/10 x) 5 in ascending powers of x, leaving coefficient as fractions in their lowest form.
Use the first three terms of the expansion in part (a) above to estimate the value (0.97) 5

Two variables x and y are such that y varies directly as x n where n is a constant. Given that y = 320 when r=16 and y =2560 when x = 64, find the value of n ( 3 marks)

The mean of six numbers is calculated. The deviations of the numbers from the mean are -4.5. 3, 2. d, 1. Determine the value of d and hence find the exact variance of the numbers. (3 marks)
The cash price of a cooker is Ksh 27 500. A customer opts to buy the cooker on hire purchase terms by paying a deposit of Ksh 17250. Determine the monthly rate of compound interest charged on the balance if the customer is required to repay by six equal monthly installments of Ksh 2 100 each. (3 marks)
Solve the equation sin 2 θ - cos 2 θ = - ½ for 0°≤ θ ≤ 360°. (4 marks)

A particle moves in a straight line from a fixed point. The velocity V ms -1 of the particle after t seconds is given by V = t 2 - 4t + 6. Calculate the distance travelled by the particle in the first 4 seconds. (3 marks)

SECTION II (50 marks) Answer only five questions from this section in the spaces provided.

Determine the time the two tractors ploughing together, would take to complete the work. (3 marks)
One day, the tractors started to plough the piece of land together. After 40 minutes, tractor P broke down but Q continued alone and completed the work. Calculate the total time taken to plough the piece of land that day. (4 marks)
In another season, the farmer hired an additional tractor R to assist P and Q which retained the same rate of working as before. The three tractors took 1 hour 12 minutes to plough the same piece of land. The owner of tractor R was paid some money proportional to the work done by the tractor. If the total work was valued at Ksh 20 000, find the amount of money paid to the owner of tractor R. (3 marks)

On the grid provided, draw all the inequalities and shade the unwanted region. Take 1 cm to represent 1 unit on each of the axes. (4 marks)
The cost of operating each type A lorry is Ksh 5 000 per trip while that of operating each type B lorry is Ksh 12 500 per trip. Determine the number of trips each type of lorry should make in order to minimise the cost of transporting the hardcore. Hence calculate the minimum cost. (3 marks)
On the grid provided, draw an graph that represents the above information. (4 marks)
Use the graph to estimate the interquartile range of the blood pressures. (3 marks)
Determine the percentage of patients whose blood pressure exceeds 150. (3 marks)

Kerala Plus Two Exam 2024- All Previous year Question papers & Keys

Kerala 12th std board exam and model exam papers and keys 2015-2023.

A collection of previous year question papers and answer keys of Kerala DHSE Higher Secondary Plus Two examination for +2 Annual exam starting 10th March 2023.

Directorate of Higher Secondary Education, Government of Kerala announced for Plus Two Examination MARCH 2023. The examination will start on March 10th. Detailed Timetable is available below

The DHSE Annual Exam Pattern

Second Year Higher Secondary Examination, March 2024 consists of

(i) CONTINUOUS EVALUATION- The CE is based on the learning activities undertaken by the candidate during the course of study.

(ii) THE PRACTICAL EVALUATION- The Practical Exam shall be based on the scheme and syllabus prescribed for the Higher Secondary Course during 2016–2018 (Note: Candidates who absent themselves for the Practical Evaluation of a particular subject shall be treated as absent for that subject, even if they appear for Terminal Evaluation)

(iii) TERMINAL EVALUATION (TE) There will be only one scheme of Examination. ie, 200 scores per subject.

Eligibility for Higher Studies/ Minimum grade required for a pass

To become eligible for higher studies, a candidate should obtain D+ grade or above in all subjects. To attain D+ grade for a subject, a minimum of 30% of the aggregate score of CE, PE and TE should be obtained (ie., 60 scores should be obtained) with a separate minimum score of 30% of Terminal Evaluation. The minimum score required for Terminal Evaluation for subjects with Practical Evaluation is 36 and for subjects without Practical Evaluation is 48.

For securing D+ grade for Music, separate minimum of 30% score of T.E. as well as PE (24 scores each) should be obtained.

Kerala board is too easy … l can write the exam without even revising. I’m in Maharashtra board and it’s really hectic especially physics and chemistry we have 70 mks paper and even though the syllabus is almost same. It’s really very tough??

please don’t be over confident.Kerala exams seems to be easy on first reading.okay i agree..But as an above average student its very tough to answer questions if you go through it multiple times.as we go answering we get to know ,how much effort is put by questioners on each questions…every board exams has its own toughness. I am good at the syllabus.sometimes the exam seems to be killing the students.so please don’t say you will get high scores even without revising…….

If it is theory mark (out of 80), then it is easy for you to get A+ for Mathematics. In the II year, you score 74 marks (for theory paper out of 80). A systematic approach will help you to do this. Kerala Board Class 11th Maths Paper Pattern 2024

For two hours and fifteen minutes, the Kerala Board Class 11 Maths board exam is administered. The first fifteen minutes are designated as the “cool-off” period during which you can read the questions. There are 20 questions in the Class 11 Math paper of the Kerala Board exam. Depending on the number of marks allotted to each question, the Maths Question Paper 2024 is split into three sections. The following lists the key elements to keep in mind for the Kerala Board Class 11th Maths paper in 2024.

There is a two-hour time limit to solve the 60 marks question paper of the DHSE +1 Maths.
There is a 15-minute cooling time period given to students for reading questions and planning answers.
The 1ts section consists of short answer type questions worth 3 marks each. There are 8 questions in this section from Q. no. 1 to Q. No. 8. Students must answer any 6 questions from this section. So this section accounts for 3 x 6 = 18 marks
The next section contains long answer type questions worth four marks each. There are 8 questions in this section too from Q. no. 9 to Q. No. 16. Students must answer any 6 questions from this section also. So, the weightage of the section becomes 4 x 6 = 24
The third section consists of very long answer type questions with 6 marks each. This section consists of 4 questions from Q. No. 17 to Q. No. 20. Students are required to answer any three questions from this section which accounts for 3 x 6 = 18 marks in total.

Title: common 7b language models already possess strong math capabilities.

Abstract: Mathematical capabilities were previously believed to emerge in common language models only at a very large scale or require extensive math-related pre-training. This paper shows that the LLaMA-2 7B model with common pre-training already exhibits strong mathematical abilities, as evidenced by its impressive accuracy of 97.7% and 72.0% on the GSM8K and MATH benchmarks, respectively, when selecting the best response from 256 random generations. The primary issue with the current base model is the difficulty in consistently eliciting its inherent mathematical capabilities. Notably, the accuracy for the first answer drops to 49.5% and 7.9% on the GSM8K and MATH benchmarks, respectively. We find that simply scaling up the SFT data can significantly enhance the reliability of generating correct answers. However, the potential for extensive scaling is constrained by the scarcity of publicly available math questions. To overcome this limitation, we employ synthetic data, which proves to be nearly as effective as real data and shows no clear saturation when scaled up to approximately one million samples. This straightforward approach achieves an accuracy of 82.6% on GSM8K and 40.6% on MATH using LLaMA-2 7B models, surpassing previous models by 14.2% and 20.8%, respectively. We also provide insights into scaling behaviors across different reasoning complexities and error types.
